I was excited when Union Berlin dominated the table for weeks. The hope was that finally a club has risen to challenge Bayern to deprive them of winning the title the 10th time in a row after having a peaceful 9th win last season but unfortunately Berlin is chilling at the 5th position.

There has never been such a hope for Union Berlin. If I remember correctly, the bookmakers at that time assessed the chances of Union Berlin to enter the top 4 as real, but their chances of winning the championship were worse than those of Borussia and even worse than those of Bavaria. Everyone understood perfectly well that this was a temporary fluctuation and sooner or later everything would return to normal. At the moment, I don't think that the chances of Union Berlin to get into the top 4 are higher than 50%.

We have seen Bayern Munich always be in that place for a very long time, so there is a certain passion when we see another team in a position that has always belonged to Bayern Munich. But it's a shame that Union Berlin couldn't deliver what was expected when they lost 3 times in their last 5 matches and had to make them fall out of the top 4 in the table. The closest teams now are Freiburg and Leipzig but I'm not too sure they will be able to compete with Bayern Munich.

Leipzig must of course consider whether they want to keep him or sell him. His market value is currently 28 million euros. That is also a lot of money for Leipzig. But with a 2-year extension of his contract his market value could rise and Leipzig could then sell him early for even more money. But as you said, he has already been with Leipzig for 5 years. I am more a fan of players staying loyal to a club for a longer time. But I am also a realist and know how the market works.

In a nutshell, he has already done what he could for this club and now he should move on and think about what is next for him. Dortmund is a very well known as a team that was always hunting the new talented player with very cheap price and then this team was developing such player to be evolved into the professional player. Better right now for compete team with few points left have consistency on every match and close dominance from Bayern Munich habit to be Bundesliga winner every season, should make Bayern face difficult way to be the champion in Bundesliga in this season and Freiburg, Leipzig, Dortmund and Union Berlin still have opportunity with Bundesliga tittle.

Bayern just getting its best performance again but union berlin has been starting to faces the big problem, it was going down even deeper since it was first losing against mediocre team like bochum. bayern can be considered as a team that was absolutely dominating this competition maybe forever. I just try to think that any prediction from this league must always about bayern to win the league and another team will become only a competitor that makes the league become a bit competitive.
I would not be surprised to see that if bayern will be winning it again and again. It has proven that if bayern was easily reaching the top position again in the bundesliga. I guess that if bayern has very big chance to win this trophy again for this season.

I think he was injured for quite a long time i don't know if they should still be interested in him i don't think bayern need a midfielder in his position especially one who will not be able to play right after the world cup when bayern players return exausted.
