I had the feeling that it was a fixed game for Bayern Munich against Schalke because how could it possible be that Bayern Munich failed to win against a newly promoted team. Although it can happen in other leagues, but I didn’t expect that from Bayern Munich. When I saw the starting lineup, I had the feeling that it would be a game where Bayern would win with a margin goal, but I never thought it would end up as a draw for Bayern Munich.
To be honest, I was very disappointed with their results. Their next Champions League opponent is Bodo, I don’t think Bayern Munich will have a difficult time winning the match. Bodo is not as strong as they were last season, perhaps Kompany have the confidence of winning the league. The result will not affect their chances of winning the title, but I expected them to do better.
there are rumors that top teams sometimes play in a way that benefits bookmakers. for instance, simply playing to a draw as happened with Bayern can be enough to achieve this, rather than actually losing the match. we must understand that even a top team can't win every game. many people were disappointed by that goalless draw because they had placed a single bet or parlay and Bayern let them down. however, I don't think it's worth getting too upset over a single match as Bayern will still win plenty of games and score plenty of goals this season. I don't buy into it, but they play so poorly in some matches that it sounds quite natural for such rumors to circulate. There was a match where Bayern Munich failed to score after a streak of 59 games; that is an extraordinary statistic. It demonstrates to all of us just how good Bayern Munich is. Everyone in Germany also knows that this dropped-point result came as a surprise. Nevertheless, I view it as a mere mishap, and Bayern Munich remains the top contender for the title. They are not easy to overtake, and there is a long-standing tradition of them winning the championship.

When Champions League matches are on the schedule, teams often field their second-string squads or rest their key players. That is exactly what happened in Bayern Munich's latest Bundesliga match. Due to the intense schedule and the potentially exhausting nature of Champions League fixtures, they fielded a secondary lineup they deemed sufficient for the league game, however, that squad lacked the quality to secure the three points. Kompany brought on key players in the second half, but the opposition defended superbly to earn a draw. While this result is disappointing for Bayern, the league season has only just begun, and there are still plenty of points to be won. Undoubtedly, Bayern remains the strongest contender to win the league title.

I just admire your sense of betting but was unfortunate you didn't get matched. It was really a wild game that I never expected so much goals. Elversberg pulling such performance away from home shows they mean business and I am starting to take them seriously.
For sure Bayern can't possibly take all points. Elversberg can definitely win and I think you got yourself a good pick but I doubt if we see another goalfest.
Bayern didn't score any in their last game so I expect a few goals from them but I don't see Elversberg scoring that much and they certainly won't go for an end-to-end game against Bayern else it won't end well that's why I don't think it'll be a game of many goals. They need to be strategic when playing Bayern Munich to win.
Thanks mate for acknowledging my betting style and not roasting it As you know I like high volatility systems with high variance. The Bundesliga is perfect for my late goal system but have to follow strict filters and parameters. Anyway, yes all jokes aside Elversberg shouldn't be underestimated. If they can keep the momentum a bit longer they certainly won't be in the battle for relegation. Normally I would agree that when a small team faces Bayern, they would play more defensively. It's just Elversberg somehow have no sense of defense Just checked the odds for over 4.5 goals and it's currently priced just above evens. Maybe the smart play would be here to place an under 3.5 goals bet

Augsburg has attracted attention this season by scoring seven goals in just two matches. Bayern, meanwhile, has recorded one draw and one win in their two games so far, currently sitting in sixth place. Naturally, this draw has disrupted Bayern's plans. However, it is not a major issue, only two matches have been played. There are plenty of games left, and Bayern might well go undefeated or perhaps just pick up a few draws, one of which may have already occurred. We know that, as the league season unfolds, this situation is merely temporary.

Schalke played a good game, this draw encourages the German league, at least hopefully it won't be boring to always see Bayern Munich in first place all season, with few twists and turns. These games are indispensable to make the championship sparkling, we are talking about a simple draw it is true, but this result changes the score, and that is what matters in the season. Schalke 04's next match will be against Union Berlin, as expected at this point they should get at least a draw if not a win, I'm getting more interested in the Bundesliga to place my bets and Schalke is one of those I'm looking at.
I believe that this year, unlike previous years, Bayern is focusing more on the Champions League and in doing so gives other teams the opportunity to threaten their title. Personal i think that teams like Borussia Dortmund can somehow give hope of seeing a new German champion this year.

The Bundesliga had started to become boring because Bayern Munich was constantly winning the title; their draw in the second match brought excitement to the league. This match was a confidence booster, especially for Schalke, as they had suffered a heavy defeat in their opening game but managed to secure a draw against a powerhouse like Bayern Munich. They can now raise their hopes of staying in the league. As for Bayern, they may have drawn this match, but they remain highly likely to be crowned champions by the end of the season. If Dortmund wants to win the title, they must play well in every match and avoid dropping points. In particular, they need to take at least four points from the two Der Klassiker matches against Bayern.

Well, I would rather distinguish between "did Schalke's defense work" or "did Bayern's offense not work" and I am sure it was the latter. If they play this game ten times, Bayern wins it nine times. Schalke didn't follow a specific plan, they did what they were forced to do and then got lucky that Bayern couldn't finish them off. This happens once every few years to Bayern. See how many games in a row they scored a goal and now did not score at all. That statistical fact alone was speaking against Schalke, but yes it worked out for them. Now is this the message to them that they can get away with this gameplay when they meet Bayern in the second half of the season? No Can they do anything else other than defending? Also no. This point was a present from the holy football god and not really the fruits for the great Schalke performance
Bayern Munich didn't play a good match. It must also be said that, having played with reserve players, it penalized them a bit. I certainly believe that there is fault on the part of Bayern Munich's attack and merit on the part of Schalke's defense. In any case it was a pretty boring match.

The assurance Bayern fans had in that game of winning with a comfortable margin was more than what we had in mind because like I said Schalke 04 is their regular customer to humiliate every season they meet but it seems like these sets of 04 players had something different from the past players and that was why it was hard for Bayern to even do their normal thing like scoring more than a goal but this particular encounter nothing was registered. I don't want to believe that Bayern Munich will continue to flop, let's see this weak outcome as something that will happen just ones this season for Bayern but if it happens again then another club need to dominate the league.
Personally i had imagined that the match could go in two ways: either with a crushing victory by Bayern Munich with a decidedly favorable result, or with extreme difficulty in breaking the deadlock. Even though Schalke didn't start well, i imagined they could cause difficulties for Bayern Munich, as they did.

Augsburg are top in the Bundesliga now, but that will not be for long as Bayern will come back stronger with a good fight. The most surprising team at this point is Elversberg, as this happens to be their first ever Bundesliga appearance and they have won their first two games already. We should watch out for this team because I dont see them returning to Bundesliga 2 next season. I watched their game against Mönchengladbach with an excellent comeback and a late winner for them. This team is more composed and coordinated on the pitch than some big names, it's beautiful to watch them play.

I don't buy into it, but they play so poorly in some matches that it sounds quite natural for such rumors to circulate. Nothing is guaranteed, so saying they will " Definitely" win it is sounding so sure of what is contestable. Of course everyone here would agree easily that they are the favorites to win the league like they've always done, but there's no guarantees, until they lift the trophy. The league just started, they've only played 2 matches, won 1 with 4 GD and drew 1, which is not a bad start. Vincent Kompany winning the UCL will a very big achievement, this season would be tougher than the last as many teams have reinforced their squads, but they've a very good squad to take on the challenge. The last time they won the UCL was in 2020, it wouldn't be bad if they break their 7 year wait this season.

You see eh, I love it when a team understands their weaknesses and plays accordingly from the start to finish. Schalke understands that Bayern Munich was ready to flood their post with goals and chose a better option to defend for the 90 minutes and it worked. These guys made only two shots in the 90 minutes and barely crossed their half. Bayern Munich couldn't believe their eyes but I love the doggedness.
Now, Schalke has obtained their first point of the season after suffering a 3-0 defeat to Augsburg. The backup attackers of Bayern Munich could not make any difference as the defence was water solid. Vincent Kompany made his changes early enough to get him a win after watching the game through 45 minutes before introducing his Backups but it still couldn't make any difference. Karius was on top of his game but then I have my admiration for Katic, he held the game intact and protected the keeper the most for me. Congratulations to Schalke, it's a massive achievement for them and points shared at the end. Many tickets cut because no one saw it coming.
Schalke were coming off two complicated matches in which they failed to find victory and having recently returned to the Bundesliga i think they paid more attention to the possible point they could get rather than the beauty of their game. Which in my opinion was a strategic initiative that also worked.

The top club of the German league, Bayern Munich, has started the new season very shakily as we have all noticed that while teams like Borussia Dortmund and Augsburg have won two matches in a row, last season's champion team has not been able to win back to back matches. You are right that the top clubs in La Liga and Ligue 1 have not been able to win either so it seems that these teams may be most focused on the upcoming Champions League matches. Similarly, it seems to me that Bayern Munich may be more focused on their upcoming UEFA Champions League matches because their opponent Bodo Glimt is a very inexperienced team.
They defeated the top team of the Italian Italian League, Inter Milan, in the play-off match in the 2025/26 UEFA Champions League, so it seems that the German league team may not underestimate this club as they will want to ensure a win in the first match of this UCL season.
I believe there is a high expectation from these top clubs regarding the Champions League. Consequently i believe that a different importance is given to playing that tournament rather than to the championship. The Bundesliga will certainly also be given the right importance, but i believe that for now there is a greater concentration on the Champions League.

Given that the Champions League is about to start, it was perfectly natural for Bayern Munich to field a rotated squad. The Champions League is currently more important for Bayern Munich; while they certainly didn't expect to drop points in the Bundesliga, that is easier to make up for. They will play only eight matches in the Champions League and they want to win them all. If you approach this from a theoretical perspective, would it be smarter to let your best eleven players start and then rotate them out once your team got control over the game, or is it smarter to bring on your best players later to save the game when they actually have to go the extra mile? What is more dangerous from a workload or injury perspective in your opinion? I still don't get it, taking out both Olise and Kane takes away almost the entire effectiveness of Bayern and by the way, where did you hear that Bayern's bench are high-quality players? Compared to what? Musiala going through an absolute performance low, Brown overhyped for the moment, Saibari the cheap version of Kane at best. Their bench can't compete with many of the benches of other top clubs. Bring Kane and Olise right from the start against Schalke, take one of them out after 55 minutes, take the other one out after 65 minutes. if they have to win a game and rest assured they want to, they are actually not saving any resources in a game like that.

Bayern Munich didn't play a good match. It must also be said that, having played with reserve players, it penalized them a bit. I certainly believe that there is fault on the part of Bayern Munich's attack and merit on the part of Schalke's defense. In any case it was a pretty boring match.
Given that the Champions League is about to start, it was perfectly natural for Bayern Munich to field a rotated squad. Bayern Munich’s substitutes are high-quality players, so I certainly wouldn't fault Kompany for putting his trust in them. Essentially, the decision facing managers here is whether to keep their best players on the bench if they start with a rotated squad and take the lead, they can avoid fielding their key players and sparing them the physical exertion. However, in matches where Bayern Munich struggles to score as was the case here managers can bring their top players on later in the game. That said, this match was an exception; Bayern Munich is usually a team that wraps up matches early, even when fielding a rotated lineup. In this instance, however, Bayern Munich failed to win due to Schalke 04’s magnificent defense. Even after entering the game, Kane and Olise were unable to contribute to the scoreline.

This was his first game back of the season, for Musiala. Having a preseason knee problem. He was not dropped. He was not fit enough to start. He came on late, and you could see that he was still working out the kinks.
The reality of what actually went on was rather insignificant. Schalke was in the crease, compact, and aggressive in their defence, yet very dull looking in its beauty. They did not want the ball. All they wished to do was not concede. And it worked.
If the backup attackers of Bayern fail, well, that is fine. But the question nobody is asking... Would the first choice ones have done better against a team that literally refused to come out of their own half?
Schalke were aware of the team they would face and their potential. Knowing they were definitely under strength, they preferred to play a totally defensive game, so as to have to offer as little as possible to the opposing team. And in doing so, they brought home a truly fundamental point.

And in doing so, they brought home a truly fundamental point. Schalke will likely be one of the very few teams to take points off Bayern Munich. They defended throughout the match, demonstrating that their sole objective was to secure a draw and they succeeded in doing so. We also have to talk about Karius’s magnificent performance, he played an excellent game for Schalke, and for the first time in a long while, Bayern failed to score. A strong goalkeeping performance was a major factor in this.

I don't buy this. We are not even four weeks into the season and some people bring up rotation as a form of giving players a break because they could be exhausted. It is more exhausting for them to be forced to play all the games in two months from now if they unnecessarily lose points this time around. I am also a big proponent of a coach, I can't remember who it was, who said that key players are sometimes far better off if they are constantly playing and don't get any unnecessary breaks. I fully understand when you rotate out players who are prone to injuries. I fully understand when perhaps a coach decides to rotate players out when the next opponent is PSG or Barcelona, giving them a little bit more time to recover although there are players who just don't benefit from it. Do you think it would have made sense putting Messi or Ronaldo on the bench every third game for "recovery" reasons? It just almost never happened. Those are freaky experiments and while Kane is a gentleman who accepts the coach's decision, I am sure he didn't understand. Bayern without Kane and Olise is at best 75%. It is a pretty bad team. Take Kane and Olise out, let them play against PSG and it ends 0-5. Kane is covering the entire field, he - as a striker - is an incredible box to box player. What is Diaz doing without both of them? Diaz can't serve Kane an assist, and he can't receive an assist from Olise. All other Bayern players don't have that quality.

Dortmund won both of their matches, gaining a two-point advantage over Bayern Munich in the league this season. Bayern Munich was unable to alter the scoreline in their match against Schalke. Dortmund was the team most pleased with this outcome. Bayern Munich still has challenging fixtures ahead against the likes of Leverkusen, Dortmund, Freiburg, and Leipzig. If they drop points in these games, the title race could become a bit more exciting this year. Everyone expects Bayern Munich to be champions again, but could this finally be the year they fail to win the title? Leverkusen last achieved this feat a few years ago, but since then, Bayern Munich has not relinquished the championship.
