kudos to those who were opposing draw earlier. I think a non draw outcome is a real possibility now.

The position definitely looked drawish earlier and that result may still occur. I just felt like that since both sides had possible pawn breaks to open the position a draw at that time was premature. I like our position right now but we will need to keep a careful watch on the a5 pawn for the rest of the game. Whites bishop being on a light square (controlling the queening square a8) makes it very dangerous. gxh4 3 votes (boolberry, tifozi, languagehasmeaning)

My initial concern was 46.h4 gxh4 47.gxh4 Rcc3
However now I am seeing 48.Ra2! where black cannot capture on f3.
48.Ra2 Nxf3+ 49.Bxf3 Rxf3 50.Rxa3 Rxf1 51.a6 wins
(initially I forgot the f3 rook was pinned making (50.Rxa3 Rxa3 impossible)
48.Rxa2 Kxc3 also looks okay for us at first glance.
I want to avoid Rcc3 for this reason and will vote for Kf5 instead. If 48.Ra2 Rxa2+ 49.Bxa2 Rc2+ wins the bishop and the game Kf5: boolberry

Kf5 (boolberry, tifozi)
with Kf4 as followup pressure to capture the f pawn.

I spent time looking at Rcc3 for black instead of Kf5:(
48.Rc1
We will lose our f3 pawn but I cannot see how to save it anyway after 48.Ke1 Kf4. I think Rc1 gives us much better chances at counterplay than the passive 48.Ke1
I cannot see any useful moves for either our b2 rook or bishop. There are few options besides 48.Rc1 and 48.Ke1 as far as I can tell.

Bb7 has weakened whites control of several key squares on the a2-g8 diagonal making Rcc3 stronger than it would have been last move. White controls a6 and a8 but we can stop whites pawn at a7.

I was thinking about that diagonal too but for a different reason (I think you were talking about the a2 square allowing white to play Ra2). We can now play Rg8 (which was covered by the bishop on d5 before) threatening to invade on the g file 1 vote Rcc3 (languagehasmeaning) 1 vote Rg8 (boolberry)
