Website exist  http://www.aeon.cash  but is not that much used. It should be posted on more places so more people can reach it and visit it.

It has been linked from the OP for a while, and also on twitter. I saw on reddit that it was missing from the sidebar there, but it looks like that is fixed now. Where else?

Lol we should change up that quote I made all those years ago - at the time I was just having a bit of silly fun, but it really does sound like something that belongs more on vodka or a timeshare than a crypto. 😄

Otherwise the website does look pretty slick! I didn't even see it until now; who made such a great thing?

I think sammy007 (or whatever number). Is there a website git repo where pull requests could be made, or an issue started to discuss changing the timeshare lingo?

The repo is in the usual place: https://github.com/aeonix/aeonix.github.io

I will say that while the quote might not be perfect, IMO it is better than nothing. We should have a clear distinctive branding.

Also, important update notice: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=641696.msg17956048#msg17956048

Github issue to discuss timeshare-esque tagline on website banner:
https://github.com/aeonix/aeonix.github.io/issues/2

A quick photoshop mock-up of my thoughts.

Ditched the entire header including the "Aeon is a lifestyle" speech as it's not really serving much purpose. Removing the dark background section and going straight to the white background certainly makes it look cleaner. (In my opinion).

I've also put the official logo in the top left, as the font that's currently there isn't quite the same as the rest of the branding.

I have to admit that I prefer your solution as well, going only with the white background. Aside from the design preference, I'd also suggest to go with white or lighter colors in order to avoid the association of AEON with anything obscure, unknown.

But i don't think that we should completely ditch the specs of the coin, maybe just putting them somewhere else, like in the footer?

Doesn't have to be on the first page.

I'm not a fan of the "What's the difference" focus.

AEON is AEON. It isn't Monero reloaded.

The website redesign and mock up looks really nice!  Again, definitely don't mind that silly blurb going away - it was a couple of years ago and was just having fun.  If the path forward for Aeon is to be a global protocol, it shouldn't need a "slick pitch".

At the same time we can also emphasize the differences.  Monero is mandatory private with no room for compromise.  Aeon is optionally private - we can emphasize that optional zero-mixin transactions lets users choose the privacy setting that's right for them and their technical needs.

So long as my privacy is not compromised by your publicity, Aeon's ability to be either is fine.

But here is another great thing about AEON, so long as Smooth is not Fluffy -- there are no human loose ends.

ShadowCash, DASH (a.k.a. Amanda B. Johnson Coin), and even Monero, have fleshy squeeze points.

I can see no other coin.

Can you?

So with the optional privacy Aeon needs to have a certain volume of transactions in private mode or it will be vulnerable to some sort of topological analysis?

I think that it is an interesting and defining feature of Aeon that it allows optional zero mixin transactions.

Whether there needs to be a minimum amount of private tx alongside them to prevent analysis is something beyond my mathematical ability to understand.  However I can potentially see Aeon one day growing into the eventual super-blockchain that merges the very best of Monero and Bitcoin both.

Public and Priavte assets on the same cutting edge blockchain?  Wow.

It's my humble opinion that Aeon might be the most undervalued asset on Earth at the current time.

But Aeon is still easily mineable.  Will it's price ever increase much more than it is?  I agree it could if it's more widely used.

Higher price will be more people will mine it and less coins miners will get. So in general they will get same  value for their electricity as right now Smiley

Well considering that Aeon's network once equaled a massive total 600 kilohash I'm not so sure I would call this 'easy to mine'.

One day Aeon will be in the terahash and petahash range but that will take years.

Aeon definitely the one to watch for 2016.

2015 2016  2017 is definitely the year of Aeon.   Grin

Nicely spotted. So on the date in question (1st October 2015) Aeon's unit price was $0.002894 with an overall marketcap of $23,231. By the end of 2016 the price was $0.092931 with a marketcap of $1,232,159. So Aeon's final speculative return for that period was 3111%. For the same period, Monero managed 3054% and Ethereum managed 1058% (despite 2016 being "Ethereum's year" according to some.) So certainly Aeon was one of the better speculative projects of 2016.

But you're right, of course: Aeon's brightest days definitely lie head.

So Aeon's final speculative return for that period was 3111%. For the same period, Monero managed 3054% and Ethereum managed 1058% (despite 2016 being "Ethereum's year" according to some.)

The fact that returns in the thousands of percent are 'normal' shows just how fast "crypto time" is moving relative to other, more traditional, assets.  As the pace of technology increases so too will the opportunities to profit.  I theorize that the time it takes to go from middle class to millionaire will also shorten, if you are involved in the right assets.

Consider that in 1905, even if the most dedicated traders with amazing skills and sense of price still needed at least a decade to move from the lower rungs of society to respectable wealth.  Assets moved slower and if a stock jumped an entire point that was a huge deal on that day.  It simply wasn't possible to turn a small nest egg into a fortune without dedicating quite a bit of time (and having a good dose of luck and wisdom along the way).

By the 1980s and 1990s people began to realize that if they made the right moves in the fast paced world of tech stocks, they could go from "average joe" to "miami blow" in just a few years.  Many did.  Especially once the dot-com boom kicked off in full, we saw many middle class people drastically change their fortunes in just a few short years.

And now here we are in the twenty-teens, in the distant year of 2017... far in the future.  And it has EXACTLY what you would expect the miraculous future to have (if you are visionary and intelligent enough to know where to look).  We live in a world that houses a thriving market of cryptotokens, secured by powerful new mathematical objects that are captivating humans like no money ever has.  And if you are involved in these?  Forget it taking years to get wealthy - many of us waltzed into 2016 as middle class plebs and left it with dazzling new fortunes, and the possibility of quitting our day jobs to pursue this full time.

It only speeds up from here!  Being able to earn a semi-responsible 3000%+ in a year is ridiculous and amazing, no doubt.  But I firmly believe that people in the right asset classes in 2030 will be able to earn that in a matter of months.  Then by 2036 perhaps even in a matter of weeks!  It's so damn cool to get to live during the rise of the next great technological singularity - what opportunities we will have, and what wonders we will see.  Aeon is but one of these, but rest assured it is a crucial one.
