What a game. I mean it was not very exciting to watch, but nole just showed everyone how it's done. Let's see if he can match Nadal's 17 GC this year!
I first mentioned this last year that Djokovic could be the player to surpass Nadal and Federer in Grand Slam titles won and right now my prediction is looking very good. If Nadal doesn't win the French Open this year then yes I believe Djokovic can match Nadal's 17 GS titles this year as if Djokovic can stay fit and healthy then he will be hard to beat at Wimbledon and the US Open. He may even win the French Open with the form he is in right now. Exactly, we have been agreeing that Djokovic is that man that can match or even surpassed Federer in Grand Slam titles, and him winning the Australian Open is a step closer. Maybe this year he can tie Rafa's titles and then chase after Roger's in the next couple of years. @Kemarit and I have been saying this for a while now about Djokovic as his form in the back end of last season looked like the Djokovic of old. He now becomes the outright Australia Open winner on 7 titles and also surpasses Pete Sampras on the all time GS winners. We are all very lucky to see the top 3 players all of time play at the same time and I'm not sure if we'll see this again.
We should not forget what happened to him last year. It was tough for him, physically and mentality. However, Djokovic overcame everything and we have may witnessed out of the greatest comeback in Tennis as well. We wouldn't have thought that we can overcome everything and win titles at the end of 2018 and continue to be dominant? A lot has been discounting him already, but he rise to the occasion and even surpasses everyone's expectation.
Keep it coming guys, it looks like this thread really did come alive as of late, and lot of tennis fans who are really knowledgeable and very well-informed. Yeah it was us who were mainly talking about Djokovic at the time as it seemed that no one gave him any chance late last year. It just shows the mental toughness Djokovic has to overcome his injury and get back to the elite level before he suffered that injury. Nadal will be suited by the upcoming clay season however we can't dismiss Djokovic winning the French Open, if he does then he very well could become level with Nadal on GS titles. Lets also not forget about Federer as I heard he may target the French Open this year which could signal that this could be his last year. We have a lot to look forward to this year.

Yes my friend, I can't wait for the clay season to start and like I mentioned in my previous post, it will be interesting to see what Federer will do this clay season. If he decides to play in the French Open then we could see him play in a couple of lead up tournaments to get ready for the French Open. I can't remember the last time we saw Federer play on clay, I'm sure its been a few years now.

But before that big grand slams, there's a lot of tournaments and see what others are doing, so it a good gauge to watch those tournaments as well so that when French Open comes, we will have our own favorite players to bet. Clay surface is very different as we know, so there might be someone to will jump ahead in the prior tournaments and maybe we will see names besides the big 3 to come up as a new champion.

There was a tweet sent out from Andy Murray and it looks like he just complete his hip surgery as he was dressed in a hospital gown and laying in bed with a thumbs up. So he should recover from it by the time Wimbledon starts in july.

I just hope he plays on for a couple more years , I miss him . I also hope Nadal somehow manages to win atleast 2 out of 3 GS this year , I don't see anyone else beating Djokovic . I have a feeling that Djoker will beat Federer record of 20 GS by the time he retires , what do you guys say?

I thought he said that he is done already with tennis? https://www.express.co.uk/sport/tennis/1064366/Andy-Murray-Australian-Open-retirement-claimAnd this hip surgery will take months to heal perfectly. So I won't think that he is thinking a tennis comeback right now, recovery should be his first priority.

But he wants to do it infront of a Wimbledon crowd so he was planning to come back in this last one tournament all along. The surgery was done so he can recover intime so to compete in it.

Right, let's hope for a speedy recovery for Andy Murray. Although it's really hard to come back from those kind of injury, we all wishes him the best so that he can pull another Grand Slam if he decided to retire for good. There's a lot of time for him to recover and be completely healthy in time for Wimbledon this year.

THe body is the asset to any kind of investment and should be taken care always. Anyway, the injury will going to heal and then one can play again on the sports he/she wanted to play. Just be patient for now so that everything will not get to more worst scenario.

My bad, I totally forget that he is still targeting Wimbledon as his last Grand Slam before finally retiring. It's fitting though, imagine a British player used to be number 1 and saying goodbye to all his fans, it will be a epic ending for him. I do hope it heals so we can see him, even if he lose in the first round of Wimbledon, I'm sure lots of tennis fans will cheer for him.

Anyone watching Davis Cup Qualification. I am feeling lucky and trying to place an in-play bet. I see two match Bublik vs Sousa J and Fayziev vs Lajovic D. First set of both match ended in tiebreaker. I am seeing some very good fight but not sure which side to pick.

I can’t believe it that Murray is going to bid this game a goodbye, while I can understand the injuries he’s picked over the years were bad but as a fan I feel sad to see him retire. I’ll second you on Djokovic winning more gland slams as he’s the man in form, the way he took out Nadal in the final shows it. Nadal is lacking form and motivation his injuries are taking a toll on him, I don’t expect he’ll win anything in current form.

However he has made strong comebacks in the past. I hope he will give a good fight at the french open this summer. Would be nice to have a nadal - nole final for the second time this year at that moment.

Serving speed, cleaver technique made him unbeatable against anyone. If there is anyone to break the record of Federer's 20 GS win then Djokovic is my first pick. I am seeing some very good fight but not sure which side to pick.
My pick was Bublik but after losing the first set he came back and won 2nd and 3rd set. Lucky day for me :-)

I just hope he will be fully fit and fine by then.

So I think he is still the man to beat in French Open. However, we have seen Djokovic emerges and young prospects coming out of the shadows although they really choke on big tournaments, I wouldn't be surprise for another Nadal vs Djokovic finals in Roland Garros 2019.

If this happens and Nadal is again on his A game I will try to watch the final in RG. Tickets aren't cheap but it's definitely worth it.
