Federer was just too good Shapovalov on the day but we can see that there is a lot of upside for him to become a great player in the near future. So it will now be Isner v Federer in the final which should be a great match to watch. On the Women's side Barty was able to beat the 5th seed Pliskova in straight sets after a hard fought first set. I think Barty has a big chance to at least reach the quarter finals at the French Open with the form she has been in this year and may even challenge for the title, time will tell.

These days I am too busy with cricket and betting in IPL LOL

I lost track from the ATP Miami and just checked and seeing Isner vs Federer is good. I hope it will be an entertaining final. I will wish for Federer to win. He is better in every aspect then Isner.

In women side seem like Barty had a good journey. :-)

The Men's final at the Miami Open was an easy win for Federer as he won his 101st career title. Federer is 18-2 this year and is looking good for the upcoming Grand Slam tournaments. The question is will he play at the French Open? with the form he is in I think we could see him play and like I said if this is his last year then he would want to thank the French people by playing there for the last time. This was Federer's 4th Miami Open title which is amazing considering he is now 37 years old and still winning tournaments.

Good for anyone who picked FedEx on a futures ever since his win against b. robert augt because after that win he basically had a cakewalk the rest of the way. Because Isner has a good serve and usually ends up with 15+ aces in his matches but doesnt have a good net game and is where roger excels in his matches.

Ashleigh Barty played an awesome match. It is a big comeback to her, the match went so close as Karolina Pliskova gave up finally. The first set is the deciding factor of the match, and the direct second set was taken without much effort by Ashleigh Barty. Compared to the women's match I find men's match less interesting as from the beginning it looked like an one sided game.

Barty was playing really good the whole tournament.
I really hoped that Kontaveit will beat her, but she didnt even had a chance. Barty was controlling the whole match.

Barty has the potential to win a Grand Slam this year and if not this year at least in the coming years as she has taken her game to another level which most didn't expect her to do. The good thing is that there are many great players starting to pop up in Women's tennis so hopefully we get to see many different players winning Grand Slams. It would be nice to see this in Men's tennis as well but still the veterans continue to dominate the younger players.

I agree with you here. Honestly I expected a very entertaining men's match with 2 tiebreaks, maybe even three but with didn't even got one. Very poor performance from Isner, his service game didn't work at all and we can see that in the number of his aces. He had only 9 aces in a grand slam final, where he should have had more like 20-30.

Yes, it was quite a achievement for Federer to be playing at this level at age 37 and still besting and winning tournaments, even reaching as high as semis in the other tournaments he previously played to congratulations to him. I think he will play at the French this year, although this is not really his cup of tea, but it looks like he is feeling very well lately. So maybe a there is this drive inside of him to at least win another French title before retiring.

As for the women's side, there's a lot of surprises this year. Last 2 tournaments was won was relatively unknown players so it's going to be interesting race as to who will be the top seed although Osaka has a lot of point advantage as of now.

Edit: It looks like Simona Halep has cut down the lead of Osaka after he made the semis of this tournament.

While Federer climb to number 4, switching places with Thiem.

For all Andy Murray fans out there, (including myself)

From the video, he is slowly recovering and trying to get back on the groove. What do you say guys? Are we expecting a comeback? Maybe next year? Next on the tennis calendar is the Grand Prix Hassan in Marrakech, Morocco and US Mens Clay Court Championship from April 8-14.

He is 31 years of age, too young to retire, look at Nadal and Federer still pushing their body and competing at a high level. Yes it's the wear and tear and the grueling tennis matches we have seen him in the past, but I think he can make a comeback, maybe in the middle or at least in the last quarter of this year. He could enter small tournaments and re-assess his conditions or maybe rest and comeback fully healed for next year.

First let him recover the injury then player like Murray will come back soon once they find themselves fit. There are four players in the current tennis,

Federer
Djokovic
Nadal
Murray

It's fun to see they dance in the court.

Murray

It's fun to see they dance in the court.

Fair enough. Let's just wait for his official announcement if he really wanted to return next year. It's early to say. Those 4 have been dancing in the court for many years now and we have seen a lot of them played exceptionally well, way above, high level tennis. And we don't know how long we gonna see them entertain us, Federer and Nadal are not getting any younger. And there are a lot of young players now who is trying to carry the torch and be the next generation of top 4 or 5.

First let him recover the injury then player like Murray will come back soon once they find themselves fit. There are four players in the current tennis,

Federer
Djokovic
Nadal
Murray

The problem is that Murray's injury is worse then any injuries that Nadal and the others have sustained in their careers so it will be a huge challenge to see him come back fully fit next year. This is the reason why I don't compare Murray with the other three players as they haven't had an injury as bad as what Murray has even though he is just 31 years old. This happens in all sports as I have seen even young players in their early 20's having to retire from the sport because of a bad injury. Lets just see what happens, if we see Murray compete at Wimbledon this year then that could be his farewell tournament as he did mention this after his exit at the Australian Open.

Don't know if we can include Murray in this list, at least not with the current tennis he is performing. Obviously, when he was in best shape he was one of the best players on the planet but right now don't know if he could ever get back to that form. He is still only 31 years old but time is passing and it seems like he's not yet able to start playing at a high level again. Let's see how he performs when he's going to come back, hope he could at least get back in top 50 or so.

For me Andy Murray is done. His injury is worst than we initially thought.

I will assume that he has lots of money in the bank and there's no need for him to compete anymore and damage himself more in the process.

And why risk your health? We just hope that he can recover, but we want him to rest so that he won't aggravate, health comes first.

I think the same as he should concentrate more on his health then playing tennis. If he does get back for Wimbledon then good on him but still if he isn't right then give it a miss. Some players don't get the chance to have a farewell match and this could be the case for Murray but we shall see.

Both Nadal and Federer had back injuries as far as I know, and throughout their careers suffered knee, wrist, 'tennis elbow' even ankle injuries. And all of them hits hard and play behind the line another factor that may contribute to someones injury (in the case Andy Murray). Maybe Andy wasn't to recover that fast or play when the injury is not 100% healed.

Well we did talk about this when he came back in that tournament in China I believe late last year. We both thought then that he came back too early and it showed as he had to pull out of the tournament and in the Australia Open he wasn't right to play. A hip injury is a whole lot different then back and other injuries and that is why I think it will be hard for him to come back to playing at the elite level again even if it does heal 100%.
