Just watched the end of Thiem vs. Fognini match and they both played some incredible tennis. Thiem prevailed in the end and he looks like he will be going far in the tournament again.

It was indeed a close match, 6-4,7-6 for Thiem, he will be facing Federer next in the quarter finals, as Roger needed 3 sets to win over Monfils. And then we have Djokovic vs Cilic on the other side. Nadal, Zverev and Tsitsipas already through.

On the womens, Osaka lost to Bencic in quarter finals. So it's now Bencic vs Halep in semis. While Bertens conquers Kvitova in QF.

Match are getting interesting.

Have gone for Thiem to win the match against Federer because Thiem has confidence after defeating Nadal in the previous tourney but right now Federer is dominating and Thiem is struggling . I guess this will go to 3 sets and although Fed is leading right now its still 50/50.

Yes it is looking this way, what an amazing match between Federer and Thiem with both players giving their all. Thiem is full of confidence saving two match points against Federer and is looking good at winning this title after falling just short last year against Zverev in the final. This year he doesn't need to worry as Zverev was knocked out by Stefanos Tsitsipas who is in top form. Its shaping up to be one of the best French Opens in  a very long time with so many players in good form and the good thing is that its the young talent that is now starting to step up.

Experience prevailed in the end. It was a good match with Thiem dictating the points and Djokovic returning some nonreturnable shots. In the end Thiem just made too many unforced errors in the wrong parts of the set. If it can be called unforced error when Djokovic returns 5 shots which would be winners against any other player (probably even Nadal) and then you miss the 6th shot.

Well this is another break out performance for my boy Tsitsipas. His earlier lost to most top players really serves him well as he improved a lot. So it's now Djokovic vs Tsitsipas for the finals. Yes, I was hoping for Tsitsipas to win the title, but we can't discount the possibility that Djokovic will snatch this one because of his earlier exit on prior tournaments as well. So expect a good match between the two.

The giant run of Bartens continues in the women side as she won over Halep. She denied Halep the number 1 rankings with this win, while she broke to the top 4.

Right , I hope it won't be easy for Djoker though , Tsitsipas should give a tough fight . Yesterday Thiem made many unforced errors and many mistakes which made it a bit easier for Djoker to win easily .

You gotta admire Tsitsipas for getting this far especially because he only 20 years old. This kid is a real talent and I'm pretty sure in maximum 5 years or so he will become world number 1 because Federer and Nadal will probably be gone by then and Djokovick will get to old of this. He is already in top 10,probably next week he will move to number 7 worldwide and that's really impressive. Anyway he didn't had much chances against Djokovick even if he would have played at his best level because it would have been a mental battle here.

I thought this kid will offer something different this time, he was a giant killer as well, but as we have said time and time again, this young prospects really succumb to this kind of tournament. Nothing to take away from Djokovic though, he's been playing lackluster performance in the beginning of the year. But winning this tournaments makes him dangerous again. He is that kind of player wherein he will be in the zone after a big win, just like last year. So he will be one of the favorites in this years French Open and I wouldn't be surprised if he win.

He should win this tournament in his home country with his italian supporters for sure.
