Well there we are now, Swiatek is out at the hands of Pegula. I rarely make any bets
whatsoever on the WTA, it is too unpredictable. We could say now that Sabalenka
is the probable title winner, but could quite easily lose that.

On the mens side Sinner has kept his win rate over Medvedev by winning again
in 4 sets. He plays Draper next which we expect him to win again.

WTA is always having interesting upsets as now Swiatek is out and things are pretty clear for the Sabalenka to win, but both Americans are also doing good job, and we can expect them into final as well with Sabalenka is also quality player but as WTA is always brought surprises things can go either way.

Sinner is impressive against arch rival Medvedev and won his match in just four sets with no potential player against him so now it's clear US Open is going to his way, and he is now having good chance of staying at the top after end of top three era in last year.

Draper is the good player but need more time for having any potential upset at the top level in any Grand Slam outside England.

Tennis is one of the most unpredictable sport with in current Grand Slam we are having too many big upsets and things are still going interesting because we are having two Americans in semifinals even Sabalenka is had good time for win third Grand Slam of his career but due to surprises any result can happen.

Iga Swiatek had been undefeated for a while and her straight set defeat against Jessica Pegula has been surprising. Jessica too is a good player but we are not used to see Swiatek being defeated.
Iga's arch rival Aryna Sabalenka had made it to the semis. She did reached the US open finals last year too but was defeated by American Coco Gauff in the finals. This time she's playing against another American Emma Navaro in the semis and possibly Jessica Pegula in the finals. Personally, I'd love to see Aryna Sabalenka win.

Betting on straight winners in Tennis has definitely become very difficult
arguably since the "Big 3" are no longer big! Betting on games or sets is a
better option when available.

It arguably offers a change to make decent profits....if you can predict when the top

I could be wrong but I feel like this isn't a rare event when a great player goes undefeated for a long time and then loses a game that really nobody expected that player to lose.

You could observe the same at the US Open for Djokovic and Alcaraz. Nobody would have thought that these two guys have to leave the tournament that early. Now Pegula is still the no. 6 in the world, so it is not that big of a shame. But of course Swiatek was the huge favorite in that game. But as soon as these underdogs fight back, even the no. 1s can get nervous and this is what happened. I found it surprising that it was in two plain sets. I think that's even more surprising than the defeat itself. If it was a 3-set game where it was close until the very end, well ok. But this way was quite strange given the great shape that Swiatek was in.

Yes and at the end of the day if every game was easily predictable, it wouldn't be that much fun to follow the sport at all. But what strikes me as odd here is that there was not just one surprise, but Alcaraz and Djokovic so early and seriously, fatigue on that level barely plays a role. Alcaraz just turned 21. Fatigue can't be the reason for his failure at the US Open, losing 0-3!!! He won 10 games in the whole match, that is outrageously bad for him.

The Olympics can't be the reason as they are four weeks ago and they played the Cincinnati Masters where he also got demolished in the round of 16. Very uncommon. We are talking about the two Wimbledon finalists here!

Well what ever about Djokovic, Alcaraz' defeat at the hands of van de Zandschulp
in the second round ^{definitely people lost money on that one} should  not have happened.
And back to Djokovic, losing in the third round but he is coming to the end of his career.

I did say earlier this year that he wouldnt win another GS but after taking Gold in the
olympics I was re-thinking that!

At this stage the deserved number 1 Sinner has been the most consistent this
season, even if he doesnt win the GS.

Jack Draper has really surprised me, to be honest I never heard of him before but he’s done so well to advance to the semi finals.

He faces a real test now though against Sinner to reach a first Grand Slam Final. I fear he will lose in the semi finals, maybe it’s just one step too far.

despite the obvious difference between the two players in terms of ranking and notoriety, there is a good match today between Draper and Sinner.... The Italian player won the first two sets not without some issues and also suffering a break point in the first set.

Now there is the final against Fritz. Of course Sinner is the (obvious) favourite for the title...he has more or less all matches in 3 sets.

On the paper it should be an easy win for the Italian tomorrow, but never say never even if the odds are very low.

1900 points clear of Djokovic, if he wins today he gets another 2000 and if he

Womens final yesterday, Sabalenka was just too good for Pegula, got the job
done in 2 sets. She has been knocking on the door of the US Open for a few years,
finalist last year and finally getting in done yesterday.

Sabalenka has successfully defeated Pegula 7-5 7-5 in order to win her first US Open title and her 3rd grand slam title. The favorite ended up winning here, but the underdog made it tough for her in both sets.

Fritz vs Sinner incoming and I am expecting a similar result. Americans would be hoping for Fritz to win and somehow secure a big title after a long wait.

Fritz isn't the worst player for him but bear in mind, it is still a final, of a very important and very long tournament.
several newspaper articles have come out about Draper's conditions linked to the extreme heat. there are many factors that could have a big impact on the match. According last info, Sinner has full recoverd from injury on left hand.

It is a final and it is a home game for Fritz as he is going to play in front of an audience that will mostly support him. The mood among the audience could also be influenced by the doping scandal that Sinner went through, so my expectation is that there will be tons of sympathy with Fritz. But still Sinner has his qualities and that is what needs to be outcompeted, which is tough.

I thought that Pegula might have a chance against Sabalenka since she was playing in front of her own crowd as well, but it wasn't enough. She didn't get slaughtered though. I guess that Fritz will be able to take down a set, but the whole game will be incredibly tough for him as Sinner is in great shape. He pretty much destroyed Medwedew and other than that one set against Medwedev, he didn't give away any other sets in all those other games. 3-0 all the way.

However, Fritz beat Zverev in quite convincing fashion and the good thing is that he was able to take down two tie breaks against Zverev, which shows that he is on point with his nerves. I seriously hope that this is not going to be another 3-0 for Sinner. It would be too boring.

Sinner is actually destroying Fritz.
The difference is very big between the two players.

The 1st set has been conclude with the result of 6-3
The 2nd set is undergoing and it is 4-3 for Sinner.

It should be an easy win from this point and second Slam for the player.

Sinner defeated Fritz far easier than I expected across straight sets just like how Sabalenka defeated Pegula earlier in order to claim his second grand slam which is epic for the world number 1.

Seems that the attendance in the stadium was really high and a record too. 2024 has proven that the time of the big 3 has actually ended once and for all.
