a target for other players to work hard to try and emulate their successes. There are records
there which I would like to see broken, hopefully there is someone to do that.

And on top players Sinner plays today against countryman Vavassori and is 1.02 favourite,
best to parlay him with someone else like Humbert 1.23 who plays against van de Zandshulp
and maybe Paul 1.10 who plays Damm?

There is really no use in using that odds in parlays; yes they are the big favorite but surprises always happen and there is simply no value in odds like that. Everybody has a different strategy but more often than not, the bet with the lowest odd in a parlay will fail. I don't really play a lot of parlays anymore, prefer single value bets.

Totally agree with this. Odds that low are usually not worth it. I am always looking for handicaps in situations like that. I mean we all agree Sinner is favorite but if bookies are offering 1.02 on his win and 1.6 on his opponent covering 6.5 handicap I know which one I am taking.

...and surprise surprise Paul is out after getting injured so yea anything can happen.

I dont do that many parlays myself and as Trofo above points out a handicap can

Yes Murray defeating Etcheverry a seeded player is kind of surprising alright and in

I am also stoked to see Osaka through to the round of 32 after beating Svitolina, she
now faces Garcia ^{only the fourth time this year!,} Fourth time lucky perhaps,
She does seem to be getting stronger with more match time and she is favourite at 1.43,
I'll try a straight bet.

With Osaka talent was always there, problem is mental state. I don't know what is happening with here and if she is in "good place" now but she is not going on any tickets I am playing. One wrong word from the audience is all it takes for her to break apart, there is just too much variables involved to bet on her. I feel sorry for her and would love that she manages to overcome those issues but I can't even phantom circumstances that made it happen first time. I hear much worse almost on daily basis when playing with my mates

She could probably be greatly helped with a sport psychologist and be on the right track. For some sports man it has done wonders, best example is probably Ronnie O Sullivan. The greatest talent of all time but his mental state was not the best, he started working with a sport psychologist and since then he is back on the winning track and keeps breaking record after record.

I'm watching Griekspoor v Sinner but following the Garcia v Osaka scoreboard and she lost
the first set on a tie break and its on serve in the second.

She said herself she is working on her mental state, the talent is there, I think she is getting
stronger.

Anyway Sinner is back on track in the third set so there shouldnt be another upset.

Sinner does have good chance of getting win over O'Connell but he will get relatively low odds from the house if we make Sinner the betting favorite, I sure he will get the win as before but I hesitant to take him in the bet because of that very low.
Sinner previously won and everything went easily, this is why he really has the advantage on paper even though later I not sure Sinner can really get the title at this Miami open.
Maybe the next match will be able to give us much better odds with decent odds but no one knows who the opponent will be in the next match.

Yesterday match with Griekspoor was quite surprising and the first and second sets really looked quite fierce even though in the end Sinner recorded victory over Griekspoor.

Sinner v O'Connell in 2021 compared to 3 years later is a different match up. I would be very
surprised if the result was the same as back then. I'm not saying its impossible, just surprised.

The last two matches of the day are very interesting, Musetti v Shelton and Alcaraz v Monfils.
I might do a handicap bet on Monfils, he's been playing fantastic, Under 21.5 @ 1.63.

Danielle Collins is having a great performance in her favorite tournament. Collins has lost only one set so far and has looked tremendous on his serve. Garcia has shown his form by beating two grand slam champions in Osaka and Gauff. Collins has the advantage in front of his own fans, but Garcia can take the game to the top. I think it will be an enjoyable match.

Yekaterina Alexandrova vs Jessica Pegula
Alexandrova won comfortably against Iga Swiatek and pulled off one of the biggest surprises of the tournament. Swiatek is weak against strong tennis players like Alexandrova. Pegula, on the contrary, can be effective against tough opponents with her consistency and patient play. Although Pegula is one step ahead in this match, Alexandrova will not give up easily with her confidence after the Swiatek match.

I also agree that this match is going to be a very interesting one. in this match, Caroline Garcia should have the upper hand. Because in my opinion, she is a better player. But I guess if we take the current form of both the players into account, I think we will see that both of them are performing well. So looking at the current performance, I think Collins has a good chance to beat Garcia. This is the quarter-final of the Miami Open. So I am expecting both the players to give their 100%.

Yea it looks like the same players are edging towards the final stages as Indian Wells,
Medvedev, Sinner won today also and I'm just watching Alcaraz v Musetti ATM and
Alcaraz looks just too strong.

No sunshine double for Iga, its an upset for sure losing at this stage of the competition,
not even getting to the semi's and its not the first time.

It is almost impossible for a player to continue winning even though she is a great player because previously Iga also experienced the same thing, she was very impressive at the Doha Open but lost at the Dubai Open, and a repeat where she won the Indian Wells without dropping a single set but lost early to a player who was not taken into account able to do it.
I watched the match and I could see how frustrated Iga was against Alexandrova, especially in the second set, the game of the world number one player got worse and made a lot of mistakes.

Talking about unexpected losses, Musetti beats American teenage sensation Ben Shelton in straight sets.

It's a shame that Musetti failed to provide strong resistance to Alcaraz so he was knocked out as I think he would be a fairly even opponent for Alcaraz to at least take a set but that didn't happen, and Alcaraz will face Dimitrov in quarter-final.

In the women's section after Aryna Sabalenka, Iga Swiatek and Coco Gauff were eliminated, Elena Rybakina will be the favorite but her performance has not been very convincing so far because she has had to face three-set matches several times including beating Maria Sakkari, and the player who has been very impressive so far is Danielle Collins just lost one set and facing Caroline Garcia in the quarterfinals will be an even match if Caroline Garcia continues to perform as well as in her previous match.
Jessica Pegula against Alexandrova will also be evenly matched and the American is the favorite for advance to semifinals but it won't be easy seeing as how Alexandrova can beat Iga Swiatek before.

Musetti is definitely showing signs of improvement over the last few tournaments, he will
be more of a force as he gets stronger and stronger. The way Alcaraz is playing I dont think
anyone can beat him, I dare to say even Sinner might not do it. He is surely on for the "Sunshine Double".

is first through after beating Machac

Yes its unfortunate and very frustrating for him. I was watching the match when he
got injured and his frustration was visible, he knows its going to take longer now to
heal than he would if he was younger, he is missing out on game time and its a step back
for him.

mmm I don't know... since the last time I saw Musetti play live (in Rome against Tsitsipas) it seemed to me that his performance had dropped a lot... in almost all tournaments this year he was barely able to get through 1/2 rounds, definitely far from his standards or for his level reached in ATP ranking.

Seems like Azarenka vs Rybakina might to full 3 sets and that is where Azarenka has been shining this tournament and I won't be surprised if she qualifies further.

I also expect to see a very nice game between Alcaraz vs Dimitrov but I can't see Alcaraz losing this one but I do expect Dimitrov to win 1 set.
