I watched both semi final matches. I want to see Djokovic win another title, he's too close to that. He went into the semi final fit after his opponent withdrew in the quarter final and beat Musetti without a giving away a set. He didn't waste much energy, energy management is very important for an athlete at this age. Alcaraz also got past Medvedev without much difficulty. Both players will go into the match in good shape. Djokovic has the opportunity to avenge last year. I hope the better player will win and that better player will be Djokovic. Well Djokovic is not close to retirement yet (he's getting close though) and has proven his effectiveness for sure. Its going to be a very interesting high level match, both will be hard to beat and Alcaraz will be buoyed on in the belief/hopes that Spain with the Euros tonight. At least 4 sets anyway today.
Yesterdays womens final saw Paolini beaten again in her second GS appearance. It was a great match, very close and two great champions with both after match speeches great to see.

Am expecting the big Alcaraz vs Djokovic final to last 5 sets with Alcaraz emerging as the winner. Excited!
The first game of the first set took 14 minutes before it was won by Alcaraz. He is looking in supreme form but Djokovic would not let this go away so easily. It will be a tough final for Djokovic and he will be looking for his 8th Wimbledon title. Going with the old school, I think at some point the experience will matter Got 2.65 odds with Djokovic

What the heck is going on in Wimbledon? I mean Alcaraz is destroying Alcaraz, but now the nerves are getting to him. If Djokovic wins this game now and takes the 6-5 lead, I think that he can win the tie break. It would be amazing for the fans because so far it was damn boring.

As a very big fan of Djokovic, I would have been very happy to see him win a Grand Slam one last time, because I believe that was his last chance. We saw today how much difference age makes, because a Djoko in his Prime would not have lost so easily. Nevertheless, I have to praise Alcarez, he played very hard and deserved the victory. The players from the new generation are simply physically fitter than Djoko and only for this reason he has a hard time, otherwise Djoko is still mentally and technically one of the best.

A sad moment for Djokovic fans but to be honest it was Alcaraz fitness that helped him win this title today. I placed a bet on Djokovic and lost it. I knew that Alcaraz have more chances to win but it was my love with Djokovic that i bet on him. The game was totally in control of Alcarez and not at any point it looked that Djokovic could come back. By the way, in the 3rd game Alcarez had three Championship points but he failed to take it. At that point, there was a minor belief that Djokovic could come back in the game but still, he lost the third set (which proved to be the last set) by 7-5.

Today before start of the match I was having strong feeling we will have 5 set match with both will be tried their best for having this title but after end of the first set I was shocked because Alcaraz having amazing development, and he completely smashed Djokovic with his power services and game this was really amazing match for the new kid in the court he completely outclassed Novan Djokovic he was having no answers of his questions which was he asking throughout match. Third set bring some hopes alive but at the end Alcaraz is having better player and now most chances he is going to rule the tennis in coming era with Sinner which is also having good quality and consistency even in this event he was not able to give his best, but things are now looking for end of an era and new generation is going to rule here for next decade.

Carlos Alcaraz won his second title at Wimbledon, showing that he will be one of the new champions in the post-Big 3 era. It was good for Djokovic to reach the final but he didn't play well in the final match. At his age, this performance is still admirable, but it's getting harder and harder for him to win another title because of his age. It was fun to watch the two players face each other, we will be watching more of Alcaraz now. Spain won at Wimbledon, now let's see what happens at Euro 2024.

So nobody would have expected an outright three-set victory, but congratulations to Alcatraz for defending their title from last year. Djokovic also missed out on his 25th major title, but he still has a chance here and there.

I am of the mindset not in thinking that Djokovic isnt going to win any more, there is Alcaraz and Sinner as a minimum who can beat him any day now on any surface. Sadly the baton from the 3 GOATS has been handed to the next generation.

personally I was expecting 5 sets like last year but Alcaraz was pretty effective in all games at this point, it is natural that Djoko-era is going to the end... even if there are just few players able to challenge the Spaniard, this could be pretty interesting for gamblers and a potential advantage for live bets.

Performance of the two was different because Djokovic himself was also much older than Alcaraz, but this was truly impressive match because Djokovic in the last set had shown how well he could give his best and keep up with Alcaraz. In the end, in the three sets we saw how Alcaraz beat Djokovic absolutely, not as expected but I satisfied with this even though I had to give up defeat. However, I would still say that Djokovic is the best, he has had lot of success so far, decline in performance is very normal because his age also affects him, but being runner-up is not bad thing either.

I did expect Alcaraz to win, but it watching him decimate the great man across 3 sets was seriously something else. Djokovic commited so many unforced errors which swung the momentum in Alcaraz's favor who was on fire. However, I would still say that Djokovic is the best, he has had lot of success so far, decline in performance is very normal because his age also affects him, but being runner-up is not bad thing either.
There is no single GOAT in tennis. There are multiple like Djokovic, Fed, Nadal etc. It was amazing to see Djokovic reach the final though right after his knee surgery.

The scarier thing about Alcazar is that it looks like he doesn't really have any opponent, not a major one. All the people we have seen so far, like Federer was alone for a brief moment before Nadal showed up, and then when Djokovic showed up they had the other two a bit, Nadal for sure, Djokovic stayed alone for just a brief moment, not many years. Whereas, we are looking Alcazar and he doesn't have any big opponents for now, maybe in the future there will be someone better, but not right now.
This means that he could potentially win more grand slams than anyone in history, not because he is better than anyone in history, but he is both great and also have no rivals, which makes it easier for him to keep winning all the time.

Sinner could be the only one in the short term who could post a threat to Alcaraz but he needs to add something to his game, I dont know what that is because he has already got a quite good game. But yea Alcaraz does look like he can hoover up a lot of GS going forward. He has 2 out of 3 so far with the US open up next later in the year. Hard court same as the AO where he was beaten in the quarter final by Zverev and Sinner took the title. We also need to leave room for a debate on how some other hopefulls progress, players like Shelton and Rune, maybe there is time for them to make a claim on top spots and challenge Sinner and Alcaraz on a regular basis - medium to long term.

He got an easy draw: Rune is not in his best condition, Musetti was clearly mentally not ready to face Nole and I'm not even mentioning the first two rounds... So in a way, he should be happy he was able to reach another GS final. P.S. I wonder if they're checking if he's clean. Did you notice him taking that pill in the 3rd set?

Ah I'd say everyone is checked these days 🤔 I agree with you serveria, I cant see him winning any more grand slams, the injuries are starting for him. Stan Wawrinka was playing in the Swiss open yesterday and got beaten by Lukas Klein, its just not happening for the old guard, another example for Stan. So a couple of tournaments on the go this week: Swiss Open - Tsitsipas seeded 1 Hamburg European Open - Zverev seeded 1 Sweden Open - Rublev seeded 1 - Rublev has been suffering of late and will have Ruud to deal with at some stage. Nadal also in the mix here and plays Norrie next. Ruud/Nadal are also in the Quarter finals of the doubles..

The joker is always in a good place in my mind. He is really a fantastic player, maybe a bit controversial?, but that's based on the Australian media. I don't know, based on the tennis itself, he is a solid player and I think he should win a couple of more titles before he retires.

I do not think that Djokovic would be able to get another major title unless Spanish play Carlos Alcaraz is there in the contest. Novak Djokovic is 37 years old and you need to have fresh blood in order to compete in tennis especially if you're opponent is Alcaraz. This means that he could potentially win more grand slams than anyone in history, not because he is better than anyone in history, but he is both great and also have no rivals, which makes it easier for him to keep winning all the time.
I cannot say if Alcaraz will win most grand slams in coming years but he is the highest paying tennis player aleady. His estimated earnigs are around $45 million per annum. Carlos Alcaraz dethrones Novak Djokovic as the highest-paid tennis star

Nah. I feel that he will win a few more big titles at least before retiring officially though since his last win was not long ago(US Open 2023). I don't think he will win another grand slam though primarily thanks to Sinner and Alcaraz. I cannot say if Alcaraz will win most grand slams in coming years but he is the highest paying tennis player aleady. His estimated earnigs are around $45 million per annum.
Well deserved. Those figures are crazy to think about, but what's even crazier is the fact that the final between Djokovic and Alcaraz charged the most expensive tickets in sports history.

I cant see it, with how strong Alcaraz is and how talented both Alcaraz and Sinner are they are building their shot making, strength and fitness and mental ability, Djokovic is in maintenance mode and some repair work from injuries and that will only increase, I would be very surprised if he does.
That is unreal earning, he is set to become the top earner of the game of all time I would imagine. HamburgZverev under pressure a little bit ATM against Gaston, he lost the first set but has broken Gaston in the second. top seed should be getting to the final. Swedish OpenNadal through to the Quarter finals, I was going to bet on a Nadal win @ 1.53 but was unsure . . . Ruud baten by Montiero today, 6-3, 6-3 - big upset Both Nadal and Ruud are in the Doubles semi final though!
