Due to his playstyle, Nadal had huge issues with injuries even when he was young.
I really feel he should not be pushing his body anymore - and I think he will not be able to return properly.

I understand the need to try and stop Đoković, but whereas Novak looks like he can play for a few more years, you can clearly see how much Nadal is struggling every time he's on the court.

Congratulations to Djokovic. With 7 titles, he is the sole record winner at the ATP Finals.
And he almost did not reach the semi-finals. But in this final he showed Sinner who is the number 1. He needed only 38 minutes for the first set. What a performance. And the second set started breathtakingly again. A break in the first game and then fighting off two break chances from Sinner.
Nevertheless, Sinner can be proud of himself and next year will certainly be a very good year for him.

It really was pretty great two sets for Djokovic and he didn't give the Sinner single chance to gain an advantage, but it should have been finished sooner to be able to immediately prove who deserves to defend first place and have the title at this year.
Previously in the semifinals Djokovic also made Alcaraz unable to do much and in two sets Djokovic finished the semifinal match.
He managed to have seven ATP Finals and ATP Masters 1000 titles as well as Grand Slam which also surpassed Nadal record.

At the age of 36, he cannot be beaten by other great young tennis players and still continues to win titles.

I agree, it was as if he was like a rabbit caught in car headlights, it was the same
for Alcaraz in the semi final but Djokovic played top tennis.

Was this either psychological playing in such an important final or was it the way
Djokovic was hitting the ball or both?

I hope from the bottom of my heart that Nadal can start all the tournaments without health issues in 2024. Nothing would be worse than him having to say goodbye on his final ATP tour because of yet another injury. I have my doubts that we will see Djokovic against Nadal in one of the final rounds of a Grand Slam again, but if it's coming, both should be in their best physical condition and play their best tennis. If I had one wish for the 2024 tennis year, Nadal - Djokovic in the French Open final!

TBH I think its going to be tough for him, there are so many top players who will be able to beat him
in 2024 IMO.

Look at the top 20 there are a good few names there who will give him a hard time, depending on the
court surface of course. Certainly any of the top 10 can beat him. Its another year, he is older and the
younger players have developed their game more.

I apologize but I just did a little stalking and saw you are probably from Latvia or around that area? It is quite a trip, but honestly I understand if someone is enthusiastic about it and has a chance, the money and the time to see a last final at Roland Garros, seriously then go for it. This is really worth it I think because in a best case scenario the game is going to be a five hours thriller and the money paid would be worth it. I have never intended a tennis game, shame on me. But I became a fan when I once saw the GOATs play against each other and I couldn't believe how they were hammering the ball onto the lines for over four hours. It is an amazing sport, which involves every part from the head to the foot and the mind and every cell of the brain. It is extremely intense. So, I hope that little dream of yours may come true!

You're so lucky to have grown such a talented daughter who engaged in tennis matches as profession, though it might not be her time to among top tennis professionals but she will actually gets there and handle the basic responsibilities as a player. It's more related to football, having a favorite player you like and also applauding the performance of your favorite player. Tennis matches are interesting, I can't afford missing any important match because watching both rivals fighting really hard to win a game for the purpose to score significant points in games.

You mean the last in Rafael Nadal's career I am pretty sure that we will see Djokovic playing for a few more years. He has made quite clear in recent interviews that he is fully determined to keep going for as long as his body and his mental state allow him to. When I see him playing, there aren't signed of fatigue or weariness or exhaustion. He is a professional like hardly anybody else. He understands what his body needs and knows very well how to time his tournaments and which ones to play to always have enough time to rest. As he said, he just had one of his most successful years in his entire career at the age of 36 and he is soon going to turn 37.

Having a kid playing tennis is nice and a great reason to share some time in front of the TV watching a five hours tennis match without the wife getting mad! ;P

That ship has probably sailed - I don't think that Nadal will make it to the RG final in 2024.
I wanted to go with a friend this year, but we were too late to organize properly and tickets were already too expensive to buy then.

We hoped for the last Đoković - Nadal final and luckily for us we didn't manage to go - because the final against Ruud really isn't something you organize for.

Canada v Finland has already played with Finland winning that surprisingly and Czech Republic v Australia
with Australia winning.

Later today we have Italy v Netherlands playing and Serbia v Great Britain playing, Assuming Italy and Serbia
go through I wonder if we will see a Sinner v Djokovich match ^again before the year end?
I cant see odds for Italy but they should be favourites against the Netherlands and Serbia are favourites too
for today.

I wouldn't be so sure. If Rafa is to win any ATP title that will definitely be RG. There is some special bond between Rafa and Roland Garros. It's the tournament of his entire career. Perhaps it's wishful thinking but I truly believe Rafa can win RG once again.

As to the Davis Cup, I'll definitely not bet on Italy v Netherlands and Serbia v Great Britain as both these matches promise to be pretty close.

The Finland vs Australia game is probably going to be very interesting. I think whoever wins that match has a really high chances of winning the cup in the end. They have performed quite well in the previous matches.

And in a way they are not the super favorites, so maybe you might get some extra money by betting on them.

Interestingly, maybe we will again watch the Jannick Sinner vs Novak Djokovic match because Italy and Serbia will be facing each other in the semifinals, but it could be that the two countries use different strategies to win and the doubles match will be decisive.

Finland being able to reach the semifinals is the most surprising thing and facing Australia they have the opportunity to make another surprise even though their mainstay player did not play in the semifinals.

Aussies are through into the final after defeating giant-killing Finland 2:0. De Minaur continues his flawless performance in Davis Cup by winning Finland's #1 guy Emil Ruusuvuori 6:4, 6:3. Quite an easy win for a Davis Cup semi final if you ask me. Aussies are now waiting for the winner of the second semi (Italy v Serbia) to face them in the final.

The betting market favors Serbia who will advance to the final to meet Australia, but my prediction is that this will continue until the doubles match to determine who will go to the final because Italy has the opportunity to take one match and unlike yesterday's semi-final where Australia managed to win the first two matches so the third match became unnecessary.
If Italy plays Jannick Sinner against Novak Djokovic, what are Sinner's chances of beating Djokovic? because no player can beat Djokovic twice this year.
