Since there is no mining nor txn fees, how would an average person be able to earn revenue processing IoT data? Would one need to get the tenary computing hardware?
What would be the estimated cost to purchase such?

Thanks

When will IOTA with GUI release?

I didn't like user experience with the current GUI because of necessity to use another address each time. Even in Bitcoin it's possible to reuse addresses. I'll change the security scheme of addresses, this will take several days. As a side-effect GUI will need to change. Genesis addresses will change too, we'll add a special procedure for translation of addresses from old to new format upon the first authorization in the wallet. All this will make user experience and utility of Iota much better.

PS: Those who sent iotas to addresses with index 1+ should send them back to the genesis address (or an address generated with index = 0) by the 26th of March 13:00 UTC. Those who know how to send iotas via API calls can send them to the buyers (to addresses generated with index = 0 only). After the deadline I'll publish the list of addresses (in old format) and corresponding balances. This list will be used for conversion from old to new format, escrow agents can rely on it to finalize some of the trades.

Addresses that didnt make any transfers, or the ones who escrowed with you changing genesis  in the past, dont need to do anything, right?

Will this affect the quantum computing resilience of IOTA transactions and address keys from being hacked?

Also, is this change a modification to the SaM hashing algorithm or is this strictly a modification to address and signature generation?

Right, if their index was 0. Addresses generated via collect.iotatoken.com had index = 0.

Also, is this change a modification to the SaM hashing algorithm or is this strictly a modification to address and signature generation?

Resilience against QCs will be improved to 2^192.

Only modification of address and sig generation.

Nice!
How many times will I be able to send iotas from the same address and still be relatively safe?

2^17 or 2^26, not decided yet (and subject to user preferences).

New update make azure look like the joke. Everything and kitchen sink.

You must not understand Microsoft's strategy. There'll be a big update about real life application for the IOTA-Azure program soon.

Yes. I say clearly. It is Everything and kitchen sink strategy.

Good decision. I think this makes sense even if it causes an additional time delay. Thanks for keeping us updated here with the development.

I will need to check what the index was - all I have is my passphrase and the address

There is only 1 way to generate an address with index != 0, via console. Have you touched the console? Have you typed there things that you weren't sure what they did? Was "generateaddress" one of them?

nope. This clears it up for me, Thanks!

Also this:
Just to get it straight so I'm not confused...I downloaded the html file above and entered my password and got back my iota address. So this means my address is on index=0 -- therefore your message in blue does not apply to me? correct?

Correct.
