I followed the above-mentioned steps but get the below error, is there anything wrong?

java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "999 "
        at java.lang.NumberFormatException.forInputString(Unknown Source)
        at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Unknown Source)
        at java.lang.Integer.parseInt(Unknown Source)
        at iri.Configuration.apiPort(Configuration.java:45)
        at iri.IRI.main(IRI.java:30)

looks like you typed "999 ", which contains a space as illegal character
Yes, just notice and fix it, it works now, thanks.

Does it mean that the client was officially released? Can not found the link. If so, it is secure to make transactions or is it still in beta mode?

It's beta.

Thanks, is it recommend to make transactions with beta version? I have read on reddit that it is still unsecure.

When will beta phase officially end?

You should make transactions, but keep in mind that they may be reverted.

Beta phase will end after everything works good.

PS: There are 309 transactions now. I wouldn't end beta till 1'000'000 transactions milestone.

After a day of testing I can see that one of those feedbacks, engineered into Iota, works as planned. Under high-load (it's simulated now by using 30 sec artificial latency) nodes pull transactions from the neighbors at much faster rate than under low-load. This "smoothes" bandwidth consumption (per second) making network providers happy (because traffic spikes and antispikes is one of the most evil things in networking).

Hey Come-from-Beyond, how's it going? Intriguing project.

Is it reasonable to assume we'll see a launch in 3-6 months?

With the current rate of 300 txs per day we'll reach 1 million tx milestone in 9 years. So it's not reasonable.

We haven't launched, we've been beta-testing since January, this is 'simply' the last stage of beta Smiley But thanks!

I think I'll create a counter that shows assessment when beta will end.

No, better if people run nodes to check this by themselves.

So we just need two addresses, 1 IOTA and a simple script to send this 1 IOTA  back and forth 1 mil times  Huh

If every iota holder presses [Generate new address] 3000 times we'll get those million txs.
