Is it safe to say that all addresses with negative balances in the history should not be reused?

Yes.

Can we also say that it is ok to use the addresses which currently have either positive balance (but no more than 3.8 tera coins) or zero balance?

What I learned so far from testing :

Do not re-use the addresses from the ICO. Use the set of addresses displayed after you claim your iota and enter the seed.

You can open as many account as you want, at the same time, by opening multiple windows.

The more transactions we do, the quicker it gets confirmed.

EDIT : Don't publish your console logs, they may contain your secret seed !

I'm not touching this thing until GUI and very stable release. Don't want to play with fire here.

This reference UI is easy to use and 'stable release' and further optimization only comes from testing.

Sorry, didn't mean to imply that people should not test and play with the release... meant only that I would not be claiming and doing things with my true stash right now. Testing, sure.

The UI looks not bad. You can easily claim and transfer and create addresses. I have tried and transferred a few of coins to a new testing account I just created. I am primarily using my testing account to help the testing.

If you don't want claim your coins now, you still can help the testing. You can just make up a seed and put it into the seed box and hit enter. Now you have an account with one address and zero coin. You can call it your testing account. With this account, you can create as many addresses as you want.

Creating addresses can help to increase the transactions in the network. The goal for this testing is to reach 1 millions of transactions. We only have under 1000 transactions now. So everyone can just create a testing account to start to generate new addresses to help. You don't need any coins to do so.

But if you want to play with some coins and make some transactions, you can post the addresses of your testing accounts here, I can send a few to you.

Thanks, is it recommend to make transactions with beta version? I have read on reddit that it is still unsecure.

When will beta phase officially end?

You should make transactions, but keep in mind that they may be reverted.

Beta phase will end after everything works good.

PS: There are 309 transactions now. I wouldn't end beta till 1'000'000 transactions milestone.

Where is it possible to catch up with real time number of transactions?
