We have started a bounty work for Chinese translation of IOTA tutorials and blog writings at here and wechat group. If you have some new writing about IOTA, please let me know.

Right now we have put 20Gi from George, Linxu Du and me. Typical translation of one tutorial or blog post is 1Gi.

Well, I could be helpfull as well like a Community Manager, probably ))

Just a thought, though and I agree that it would be mostly copy/ paste from SLACK!

some kind of gathering main info from SLACK and publish it in BTT, Tweeter, facebook( like I was doing for about 8 month, from probably about begining of 2016))

As well ANSWERING FOR ALL QUESTIONS(SOME TIMES VERY STUPID) VERY KINDLY!

P.S. like I said before I am with IOTA from about beginnig (an investor from December 2015)

Was testing IOTA from FIRST VERSION OF NODES! And I am running node as well node 24/7 and have experience and understanding of IOTA, have Good English, have time for working for IOTA(About 35 hours per week) will bring You, Friends, Fresh info(Up to Date, from Slack to Your Tweeter, Facebook, E-mails, just subscribe to this)))! , BUT THIS INFO WILL BE FRESH ONLY ACCORDING BY FOUNDATION AND DEVELOPMEN ONLY!!! THE SECRETS OF COMPANY ARE SECRETS!!! YOU MUST UNDERSTAND THIS !!! OR SORRY!)

Join My Tweeter BTW for FRESH UPDATES FROM SLACK ABOUT IOTA!!! https://twitter.com/IOTAecosystem

OR DIRECTLY! : https://twitter.com/iotatoken

JOIN:
       https://iotatangle.slack.com/messages/general/
       http://forum.iotatoken.com/
       http://iotasupport.com/

So far some ideas for the role are to:

  • have a direct channel to the Foundation to ask questions and receive updates
  • produce a weekly update for the IOTA community
  • be active in IOTA threads here, providing updates and asnwering questions
  • be active on Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, Steemit etc. disseminating information
  • generally be a bridge between the Foundation and the community

The above will help to better promote IOTA to new and existing community members and also the wider crypto world.

The core team are so busy working on the important tasks that having someone in this role should help increase communication - they have said they will actively work with whoever takes this on.

I think there is more to it than just copy pasting things from Slack to the Forum. Imo Scott made very good Point on what a Community Manager should look like.

-Have a direct Channel to the foundation to ask questions and to receive updates
-produce a weekly update for the community
-be active in the IOTA thread here, providing updates and answering questions
-be active on all social networks
-be a bridge between the foundation and the community

Let me add a few things here:

-provide feedback for the foundation on what the community feels/needs/wants
-provide a weekly update on what work the foundation members did the past week
-actively prevent harassment/fighting between members and the community and the foundation. This will make these threads look better.

As I already pointed out I think that especially the last point is vital. We need to stop fighting in official threads, as this will have a very negative impact on the project, the community and the communication in general (This doesn't mean that you cannot have a different opinion. By that I mean that there is a lot of lack of respect and understanding between both parties here. This is why a community manager is needed: To be the bridge between the foundation and the community, as there are a lot of misunderstandings right now).

when GUI wallet?

There is no ETA for the GUI wallet as there is afaik still a dev missing for it. Besides, nostalgia and a headless node are really working well, and the setup is easier than you think. That's why the GUI has no priority at the moment (as e.g. A sandbox is more important). Maybe the tutorials at www.iotasupport.com help you with a headless node

It seems there are plenty of people willing to step up and we have some definitions of what the role might be.

The question now is does the community want to fund this?

So far only schnib has pledged.

I remember David said IoTA would list on Exchange on September, but now it's the end of November.

Have you even been around since Sept? Your account looks very sockpuppetish.
