On November 1st the IOTA price was $0.36 and today $2.23.. In 34 days the price went mad! The price is still rising and i would like to buy some now. I try to buy IOTA in Bittrex but there is no transaction. Where can buy IOTA? Is anyone knows safe site to use?

Depends where you live, but try Bitfinex. Send ETH there and swap for iota

why is IOTA surging?
IOTA is rising from wider interest, sometimes selling a story and concept that people understand is all it takes to gain and once a price starts to rise others add some to be part of the trend and so the market cap snowballs some.
This is all quite ironic when IOTA seems to be in beta still with issues to sort through for full user friendly use.  It seems best to be cautious, I guess people are relatively safe if they stick with exchange based addresses and trading for the moment; activity which is true of alot of market participants in my experience.

sounds good and interesting. I believe that many people believe in this project, i bet mostly technical people.

Useful input. I much rather these balanced and honest views of why a coin may be increasing - such as community sentiment - rather than fundamentals or specific announcements, instead of more of the same 'Price will hit $100 next week!' kind of posts.

It could keep rising I'm really not sure. Bitcoin has had an incredible year. But I always appreciate posts that don't hype everything up based on very general statements, which we know in crypto can happen easily and is very common!

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/iota/#markets

I saw it asked on another forum if IOTA has this 6 billion USD market cap, why would it not be listed on Bittrex.com.   600m USD a day volume.  Was there some disagreement or difficulty or because its feeless transfer maybe and not especially profitable to list on an exchange ?

I usually plot a graph for a crypto price before getting involved to have some idea of its momentum especially when its risen this fast, does anyone have projections maybe based on volume of transactions as well.

A high volume currency is always worth to be listed on exchanges, as they take usually between 0,10 and 0,20% of each transaction as fees, regardless whether the currency itself is feeless or not - when you trade on the exchanges (except for exchanges such a etherdelta or Waves DEX), the transactions are not done on-chain anyway.
I don't know about why Iota isn't listed on Bitrex but the fact that IOTA is not using a blockchain for ledger but a DAG called Tangle instead, makes it more difficult to integrate to the exchanges platforms (new tech so harder to add than an erc20 token or a blockchain platform).

It seems to me that the coin's growth is related to the bitcoin price. Therefore, I consider this a temporary phenomenon. Everyone has their own opinion!

Someone would need to research if those belong to the exchanges or indivuals.   If its an exchange then the ownership is distributed and unknown perhaps or at least less concentrated then it appears.   The top ones are in regular use at least

Those are mostly exchanges and foundation wallets. I think the wallet with 73 TI is SuperNet.  The largest individual wallets are either #8, #9 or #10.

According to #botbox channel, confirmation rate during last few hours is ~50%, people reattach too often, this is why the rate is so low. But at least there are confirmations in main net since December 1st. Reattach your transfer.

How the hell can I connect to my wallet?? I have just been able to log in normally in the past, but now when I start the wallet (desktop wallet) I just get a red "Could not connect to remote node." message every time I start it. I have tried like 10 different node addresses from here by inserting them in "tools" - "edit node configuration": http://iota.dance/nodes

None of them work. What should I do?
