So the biggest NBA news today is Lebron James' 2-year contract extension worth a staggering $97.1 million. He now reclaimed the highest paid NBA player in the league and at the same time the highest total salary earnings in the history of the NBA which is half a billion dollars. The amazing achievement of an already 37-year-old baller. But we will see if his dream of becoming a champion once again becomes a reality. Many legendary veterans before like Tim Duncan and Dirk Nowitzki sacrificed huge portions of their salaries in order for the team to create openings and be able to compete at the top. The Lakers though is a different team since it is one of the richest teams in the NBA so maybe they are willing to pay an additional luxury tax of more than 100% of its players' salaries just like the Warriors.
LeBron has had a phenomenal career, and I'm really impressed that he can still show great results to qualify for such a huge contract. Honestly, I don't think there has been any other player over the age of 37 who could also qualify for that kind of paycheck. By the way, LeBron will be 40 years old after the end of the 24/25 season, and it's even sad to realize as it means this contract will probably be the last or penultimate one of his career. Lebron is one of the greatest NBA players of all time that's why he is qualified for that huge contract. He is still athletic even though he is 37 years old already though we will agree to the fact that he sometimes feel the fatigue in some games that he can't do some defensive stops but overall, he is still one of the greatest NBA players of all time. In this upcoming season, Lebron will try to beat Kareem in the top in scoring and with his average PPG last season which is around 30+, he can do it this season. Like what happened when Curry beat Ray Allen's record of most 3pt shots in career, I'm pretty sure that Kareem will be there when Lebron surpass his record and that will be one of the greatest memories for Lebron and for the fans as well. In terms of contract, correct me but Bronny will try to get drafted in the NBA 2 years from now so he really will do what he wants to do - to have a father and son in one team. If that happens, Lebron at that time might sacrifice some of salary to have cap space.

I guess that's what we are expecting of him, and could retire as one of the Lakers great, he did bring one ring to them in the bubble. And this kind of player are just one of a kind, and if there is really a freak in NBA it could be Lebron's staying power, the way he molded himself, his body of course to be that competitive can still jump and dunk the ball like he was still a rookie. It will be interesting if he can really play with his son because that is his dream before he finally hang up his jersey in the next 2 years. Does LeBron James have retirement on his mind right now? I don't think so. Because he is still playing very well. it is true that he has become old and being 37 years old does not help at all when you need to run so much and jump so high. It takes a toll on the body obviously. So one thing I believe is that he is not planning to continue for a long time even if he can, and even if he is in good form. I would actually like to see LeBron James playing with his son before he ends his career. That would be absolutely unbelievable to witness. Regards Duke

Yeah I agree that I think when it comes down to it he’s going to do whatever he can do for the opportunity to play with his son. But I think the biggest problem or biggest hurdle when it come to all this, Bronny simply isn’t good enough for the NBA. I’ve been hearing of late that the younger son is actually the one with more promise. Who knows though, time will tell.

So regardless of what school he chooses, it's up to him and just like you said, his father is very supportive of his sons and he only want the best for them.
That's the most important thing, we already have Lebron James his father who is going to be a hall of Famer soon, so it's enough to have one in the family. Well, as long as he would just enjoy basketball and let things come around, I mean no pressure, then maybe one day we will see Bronny playing in the NBA and Lebron would be happy cheering for his son. LeBron had enough pressure when he was still in highschool as there was already a lot of offer for him even before he set foot in the NBA. A lot people expect him not being a bust and he did live up to the hype. Now, IMO as much as Bronny enjoys the game of basketball, but it is inevitable not to feel pressure when your father is one of the best to ever play in basketball. People expect him to be as good if not better than his father LeBron. Bronny must not only develop his physical basketball skills, but also his basketball IQ.

Lebron when he entered in the NBA, he was already playing like a superstar, but due to lack of experience, he has not won a championship until he joined the Heat. So for Bronny, I think being an NBA player and playing for years would already be a big achievement.

We can't remove the fact that critics will be there for Bronny and his brother when they both move up to NBA. Like what you mentioned, LeBron is one of the prime player whoever play this game, the expectation from both his sons is really high and only time can tell if the bros will continue their respective careers or they might change directions. Both young and talented, but the future is the only one who can say what will be the path for both James. let's hope for the best and injury safe future for these two young James.

We can only have one phenomenal player like Lebron James, and 1 player like Stephen Curry, and 1 player like Giannis Antetokounmpo, well Lebron is still a force to reckon with but surely Basketball is played by 5 players so it is required to have a team play, even Michael Jordan would need his team mates in winning a championship, Yes, and Bronny is still young, so he might as well just enjoy the ride and the attention he is getting. But at the same time, should be following his father's advises for him. Still very raw talent but you can see the potential, after all he has Lebron's DNA and you can see that he has the hoops already.
So hopefully if everything settles down in the next 2 years and it went smooth, we might see the father and son tandem.
I really don't want to expect much on Bronny James he is still a kid, surely all those advice his father Lebron James that has given him will surely give him the knowledge he needs I think Lebron James can not force his son in being what he wants him to be, for me I want Bronny James to just enjoy the moment and not pressure himself out from the game his father love,

The schedule is out. https://www.nba.com/news/nba-unveils-2022-23-regular-season-scheduleThe 2022-23 NBA regular season will tip off on Tuesday, Oct. 18 with a doubleheader on TNT as the 76ers visit the reigning Eastern Conference champion Celtics and the defending NBA champion Warriors receive their championship rings before hosting the Lakers. It's still a long way before the season starts but I can't wait to see them back with their jerseys on. Will a guard be included in the top 3 of the Season MVP this year? i.e. Luka Doncic, Steph, Ja Morant. These are the players I will be looking forward to being on top of their careers and doing most of the damage against their opponents. But Jokic will still be there, I don't doubt that. Only an injury will stop the Joker. If Kawhi will be back healthy, it's possible he will also be in the MVP discussions.

Jokic is always not the favorite to win the MVP, but in the end he still win the award, he already won back to back MVP award, so I would not be surprised if he still wins the same award this season. Well, I hope that stars will be healthy especially Leonard as that would make his team interesting to watch.

It's Jokic consistency that really put him in the MVP race, if my memory serves me right, Joel was the front runner midway, but when he suffers a injury, Jokic takes over. So if those guards are just going to be consistent and injury free, I think they will have a good chance to win the MVP this year. If will be another close one, Kawhi and even Paul George could be in the discussion as well, or even Jokic's team mate Jamal Murray could also be inserted if he just continue what he left off prior to his injuries.

Yes, probably he'll retire in Lakers but that ain't sure as of now because he also said that he would follow his son to whichever team Bronny will fall. The good thing about Lebron is that he doesn't really rely on his talent alone because he knew that it wouldn't make him what he is today if he will just rely on his talent all the way, he added some extra recipe for him to be great and that is the dedication and hard work.

I'm of the opinion that the Lakers win in the bubble is like a championship with an asterisk next to it. To be a laker great the fans need to be up close and invested in the run a championship team has. There was no juice to that championship. Big shots in front of thousands, that's when fans get fully invested. My thought is he knows it too and wants a championship in front of the LA crowd. Then and only then do I think he becomes "a laker great".

Maybe Lakers will bring Bronny to the team in respect to LeBron, not sure though what future will be for this father and Son journey but it's something that NBA can treasure if both will be playing in one uniform and share talents inside the court. With the look of LeBron's shape. He is still capable of playing for more than 2-years unless major injuries will happen before that, but if there's nothing as we know him playing, he is good at taking good care of his health, so the chance is really possible.

Jesus christ, 50 million a year give or take, which I am sure is still good money for Lebron even though he must worth like a billion already, maybe more. I am guessing that he will definitely pick up the player option, but it all depends on where his kid will go. I guess Bronny looks as solid as it gets for a candidate, both a legacy which is like the biggest we can think, but also a solid top 60 draft pick for sure even without the dad (well he wouldn't be this good without his dad lol). So all in all, I am guessing that if Lakers gets Bronny then Lebron stays, if not then Lebron may leave to wherever drafts Bronny for sure.
Looks like LeBron will most likely retire a Laker on that contract. The extension also makes him the new highest paid career earner in NBA history, passing Kevin Durant. In another two years I’m not sure if LeBron will still be able to be healthy and play at a high level, but he’ll probably have the option to sign another deal if he wants to. I’m sure LeBron is celebrating tonight… That's a huge amount of money, that will increase his wealth being one of the richest NBA players in the world. Well, he deserved that because he is the king, may not be the best player in the NBA now but his leadership is very effective as long as he is healthy and can play. Not just in the NBA but in the world of sports, he will be one of the richest, others might not agree with the huge contract he got, but I guess the Lakers wanted to keep Lebron and the management believed in him that perhaps another ring will be in the horizon for them. It's that last year was really a disaster as they expecting a good season but it turn out to be their worst. We haven't seen Lebron getting worst ankle injuries or like a torn ACL and I think it's more of his body really adapting to the grueling NBA games throughout his careers. That is because Lebron is smart enough to invest back the money he earned in NBA back in his body, in fact it was discussed before that he spent millions of dollars annually just to get his body fit even though he's slowly growing old by daily basis. So, that's why we haven't seen him getting bad injuries that could potentially cost him a year of rest just like the other players in the league. That said, I think Lebron is the richest active athlete who earned over $1 Billion.

I agree, Kyrie and KD could be gone tomorrow, or they will not be gone at all, and we do not have any idea until it happens. I still think that fully healthy Nets for a whole year could end up being great. Last year, at the start of the season the talks were about Lakers vs Nets finals, with harden instead of Simmons obviously, we all saw the result of that.
Harden has left, Simmons is injured, Kyrie and vaccination etc etc all destroyed Nets, and Lakers having one of the worst years of both AD and Westbrook together caused them to be terrible too. So I am not expecting the thing this year, it is going to be a revenge year for Lakers, and Nets could stay healthy and be a lot better if they stay together.
Well... reading this post came to my mind... could the Nets be different this season and could they become a strong and competitive team to beat the Warriors!!? (or another team???). I mean if both Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant reverse their requests to be traded away from Brooklyn, I could see this team being very good with another year under their belts as well as having time to gel with Ben Simmons. But whether they can beat the Warriors or not I’m not too sure. I think if they all play to their fullest abilities and stay healthy, they could..Durant is a top 3 player on the planet and Kyrie is top 10..so that should be enough for them to compete with anyone. I don’t know if that’s going to happen. I suspected they would return and the Nets would go on like the trade requests never happened. However, I just read an article that claimed Durant said that he would rather retire then play another game for the Nets. I guess we’ll see soon enough. With only a couple months left until Durant is expected to suit up, we could have another Ben Simmons situation on our hands. Kevin Durant already cleared the issue and he said that it wasn't true at all and he even don't know why the people keeps on believing a non-reputable sites about his situation and keeps on making story rather than sticking to the facts. So that said, I guess it wasn't really at all, I mean he is not that dumb enough to retire rather than play for the Nets this coming season because that would really mean that his career would be over and he will be remembered as a great player but a big headed. Surely he doesn't want that. Ya, I saw the tweet he made where he was calling that rumor BS. That was the first time I saw KD suggesting that he may return to the Nets this upcoming season. With no movement on Kyrie and Ben Simmons being a total mystery, it's starting to look like the Nets may have a big 3 come the start of the season. I do like that Vegas bumped up the odds for Phoenix to get KD, making Phoenix and Boston tied for likely destinations for Durant. I think it would be a horrible move for either team to trade for him as far as their future goes, but it would be one hell of an exciting season for whoever gets him. Maybe because Durant knew that his chances to be traded before the season starts is now much slimmer compared to the day when he first expressed his agenda that he wanted to be traded for Heat or Suns, Simmons on the other hand will be wearing the same jersey but I hope that this time, he already solved his mental issues because he needed to play for the team if he still wanted to be an NBA player.

I guess LeBron can break Kareem's record this upcoming season anyway, as he only needs to score 1,326 points to break it. So if LeBron can score an average of 30 points per game and doesn't miss any games due to injury, he will be able to break that record by the 44th game of the upcoming season. In that case, it will happen on January 16 during the home game against the Rockets.

Yeah so long as he doesn't get injured bad he is gonna snap the record but he isn't going to be averaging 30 points a game. Lebron is good but he will probably be in the 23-25 points a game. Especially if AD is healthy, the offense should run through AD. And then Westbrook needs his shots too. I d say it will be much later in the year because he is going to be rested a lot more to preserve his body as well. Can see him sitting on one of the games on their back to back nights.

This is insane lol. Does this trade would likely to happen or nah? The Nets and the Lakers are like pursuing or not the trade back and forth. The Lakers could actually get a better role players if they really want to get rid of WB. But they could also run the same roster next season. Same goes with the Nets. They're just making their roster became complicated lol.

[/quote] Yeah that's true, he played 74 games with 27 ppg, 14 rebounds and 8 assists per game as a center. In a league where guards and wings became a lot more important, that dude realized that he has to play in a different type of way to help his teammates because it is not the big guys league anymore to just post up and try to score with that moves, he could pass and score a lot more efficiently by being a Point Center and he became that. I think Embiid is a bit more closer to old ones but a lot quicker but he didn't play as consistently. The league definitely feels a lot better right now thanks to these big guys and we can watch them play like MVP players again.

Probably it will not going to happen, and as much as we love to see Kyrie and Lebron again, it might not be in the Lakers. I think the Lakers had settled already to have WB back on their line up for next season, and him and a healthy Davis could still be good to make a run for a championship, they just need to be healthy and not getting injured. Maybe they will have to reset since they have a new coach already. Not sure above Kyrie though, the Nets have a lot of figuring out this season, with KD and Simmons.
