Oklahoma started well on the road against Minnesota, but Minnesota leveled the playing field later in the game. They finished the first quarter 10 points behind, but went into the fourth quarter and took the lead.

I thought San Antonio would end Oklahoma's league winning streak, but today it looks like Minnesota will do it. Minnesota is in better shape right now. I'm eagerly awaiting the result.

Beating OKC with offense is hard, if you defend better, your chances of winning increase at least a bit. We watched Minnesota in playoff mode last night. There’s no team that can beat the Wolves once they switch into this mode. at least not without the refs help  Smiley. Edwards is one of the best players in the league. he showed what he’s capable of when he’s just a little more focused and actually wants to play.

They actually did it on defense, ANT did block SGA in the last seconds of the game an prior to that he hit a 3 point shot to take a one point league. I guess ANT really was motivated to guard SGA and made that two defensive gem (the another one making it hard for SGA to shot as his hands is very poking that ball).

So now we question whether the OKC can still go and break the record of GSW as another lost will obviously lower their chances to even tie. So they needed to put another successive run to have buffer again.

Here comes the 3rd loss for Thunder really... The dedication by Timberwolves by insane though. After seeing Thunder finishing Q1 10 points ahead, I thought this was going to be one of their classic comfortable games.

But of course only the first quarter doesn't give us everything. The way I think must be stemming from getting used to see them destroy nearly every obstacle ahead so far.  Tongue

Anyways, Timberwolves played the last minutes really solid. First Edwards' great three-pointer and then a great defending against Shai.

still a long season to watch, GSW had 9 loss and  OKC now have 3, 6 more to tie and less than that can break the record. OKC can do it, their team is good and  their chemistry is great.
But, NBA is the best league in the world, there will be teams going up to beat them. We should watch closely,

It's what we call the breaks of the game, but still we can't deny that block and then three point was the key for them to win as that shot put them in a one point lead. And then they all know that the ball is going to be in SGA's hand and so he defended him very well. As for as scoring goes, Edwards also did very well, and so it might have even up the scoring between him and SGA and it depends on the supporting cast. Plenty of time for the Thunder this season to still chase that record of the Warriors. Although they've lost in their last couple of games, I think the mentality of the team is very high so they will have to bounce back again.

From my side of view, with this hardcore play Timberwolves would easily win the other teams in the league. As i told they opened playoff mode on. Of course still they barely beat OKC. Because Thunder’s level is honestly a joke.
Also, the Minnesota fans were extremely intense, they booed the team on almost every single play  Cheesy

Nahh, OKC is still on the adjustment phase after they lose against Spurs and broke the winning streak which is normal even for a top team.

When it comes to playoffs I doubt Timberwolves on this level of basketball can beat OKC with their complete roster and playoff mode too.

SGA is still consistent while the problem is his teammates still struggling to get back on the game.

Rockets lost in overtime to the team at the bottom of the league. Im quite upset about their performance tbh. They lost in a match where they had built a 25 point lead during the game. Just before overtime Alperen missed two crucial free throws. At the end of overtime Reed was given two consecutive wide open 3 points free shots and missed them. I think it was in the third quarter when Durant, Amen, and Jabari piled up back to back turnovers, practically handing the opponents hope and momentum for a comeback.
They missed a total of 9 free throws. That’s a considerable number of missed free throws. From having a 25 point lead to losing by 5 points in OT against the 15th seed team. Maybe others thought it was an easy win for them, especially when they had a 25 point lead. That’s frustrating for those fans, and even more for those who bet on the moneyline. I’m not a hater, but I really don’t see them as a team that has a chance to beat the Thunder in a best of 7 series compared to the Lakers, Nuggets, and Spurs.
They are still a very good winning team, even with 2 losses in a row they are fifth place with a 16-8 record and that is not a bad one. They could have been 18-6 if they won these two ones on last seconds but that is fine, they are still doing good. Considering their age, it would be honest to say that they are doing very good because aside from Kevin Durant they do not have that many old players or any stars of the squad that old.

Alperen, Amen, Smith, they are all very good and playing awesome right now and should be considered a talented young team. Just because they had a few game stretch where they could have won and lost doesn't mean they are suddenly bad, that is just a bad situation but reality is they are an all around good team.

Yes, I mostly agree. Adding KD's experience to those young players changes many things. We’re watching a completely different Rockets team this season. I was one of the people who were complaining about Smith heavily in previous year but this season he’s been truly efficient. Due to the roster construction when Alperen and Adams are on the floor together he plays at the 3 and doesn’t need to attack the paint too much. The same applies when he’s playing alongside Durant.

I agree, this is just one lost, it's not like they have been blown away from the Wolves, they have a good chance to win this game but it just didn't went on their way and then Edwards hit that 3 point shot for their lead.

The true test for them is in the playoff, and as we have seen, OKC is the defending champion, and this is just one lost for them. For the Wolves, they still need to proved, specially Edwards on if he is that good and can lead this team in the playoffs again.

It seems the Warriors’ 73–9 record is really hard to beat. The Wolves handed the Thunder their 3rd loss. But I think they still need to work more on their free throws, as they missed 14 free throws. Imagine if they made them all, almost half of their score could have come from free throws. Still, they managed to beat the Thunder despite SGA’s 35 points. Before, I thought the Wolves were over and couldn’t contend for the title, but beating the Thunder shows they still have what it takes to go deeper in the playoffs.

Rockets look just simply tired to be fair. Playing this many overtimes, and this many games, they look like they are just simply tired and because of that they end up with losses.

However, overall team still looks quite good and I do not think it will change that much, we are going to see them one way or another. Obviously things are not that easy to handle for them at the moment but for the time being we are going to see them do a fine job anyway possible. Just focus on what you have and you are going to be fine.

It is of course not easy to beat. But not impossible either... Thunder are still on their way to give it a try. 25-3 is a spectacular work and I believe it is quite possible to finish regular season with losses on single digits.

Thunder could have won that Timberwolves game by the way. But they couldn't play the last minutes of the game very well. Edwards had a serious role in this win. Can he be selected for All-Star as well this season you think?

Kia MVP Ladder: Jalen Brunson's run in Emirates NBA Cup gives him a boost
https://www.nba.com/news/kia-mvp-ladder-dec-19-2025

1. Nikola Jokić , Denver Nuggets
2. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Oklahoma City Thunder
3. Luka Dončić, Los Angeles Lakers
4. Jalen Brunson, New York Knicks
...

Jalen Brunson is an inspiration to every small guard out there. It's true that the KIA MVP winning chance grew because of what he did for the New York Knicks and winning the NBA Cup.
Let's not forget, it will still rely on the votes. The last time I thought Jokic would make history with 3 consecutive season MVPs, and yet it didn't happen because the media thought he didn't deserve it. So, they voted for Embiid. It's not like Embiid didn't do great. He did. But I just don't like the idea of a manipulated vote. I think they should go back to just using the stats to award a winner.

It's a possibility, yeah. Otherwise I don't know how they can explain this defeat against a weak team like Pelicans.  Tongue

By the way there is another Nuggets vs Rockets game tonight! They've already played twice against each other this season. Both ended by wins for Nuggets by 3 points.

For tonight Rockets are favoured to win despite being the away side. 1.82 vs 1.96. Isn't that interesting? I think Nuggets can win once again.

AI, Nash also small players but because of their skills they manage to win an MVP award, so I'm not surprise if he is included in the list, the problem is the voting if they don't like the guy they will not vote for him instead of looking for the performance, in embiid I think he deserved the MVP that year there is no doubt about that, some people may disagree with this, and yes stats should be the one criteria for choosing the next MVP, to be honest with Nash being MVP i thought he'll be getting more because of how he carry the SUNS.

Looks like the Rockets are getting their revenge. The Nuggets won the game earlier this week in a controversial way. This time the Rockets are leading the game. Jokić is in foul trouble. If he's taken out of the game, the Rockets could really open up the lead. I usually miss Western Conference games because they're playing so late, but this one was relatively early so I can watch both teams.

Rockets Nuggets game turned out to be a really interesting one. Rockets won it this time. Houston’s three point shooting was at prime levels. Even Sheppard shot with a high percentage. He especially kept Houston in the game during the first quarter. Then Durant took over. At one point Jabari caught fire and throughout the game Amen was on another level.
Nuggets on the other hand were truly having a bad day. Especially Jokic had probably one of his worst performances of the season.

The Warriors won against the Suns. But what is going on with the refs? Are they sleeping in crucial moments? Steph Curry’s last-ball possession should have been a foul, it was a clear foul. What if that shot didn’t go in? That could have put the Warriors in a tough position again. Nah, I think the league should also start imposing fines on referees for missed calls in crucial moments. Sometimes they blow the whistle even when it’s unnecessary, and sometimes they don’t even call it when it’s a clear foul.

What happened tonight? Houston beat Denver, but Alperen finished the game with only 8 points. Jokic, who has a triple-double in many Denver games, contributed 25 points. In the Los Angeles derby, the Clippers beat the Lakers, but Doncic scored only 12 points for the Lakers. It feels like a strange day. It seems like all the bad things happened today. Doncic played little time, but Alperen scoring so few points in 30 minutes surprised me.
