But given like 3 more years, he could be the best player down the line, almost complete and what makes him specially is that he improved his shooting from the 3 point line and then upping him numbers in blocks to be a good candidate too for the defensive player of the year.
Wemby is not just tall but he's really good on offense and defense and I agree with you he can shoot from 3 point line and at the same time good at the paint. Wemby is still improving, though we already see his improvement with just 1 season, and considered that he is with the San Antonio Spurs where the legend Tim Duncan came from, I'm pretty sure he'll receive the same training and program as Duncan, we all know that he's one of the best player in the pain with his post up and game IQ. For now, I think Wemby is not yet on his peak but I'm pretty sure we'll see it coming.

That is the right term, he is still not on his prime and so with that, we are still going to see a learning curved from the alien. He is like one of a kind player, very tall but can shoot outside and run very quick too to chase that block shots. But once he got a feel of the game itself, matured and maybe he will see a big stride on him as far as being the most dominated player in the NBA and in the future won that coveted MVP award.

I honestly think Wemby is a bit overrated. People keep saying players are scared to go to the rim or they’re avoiding the paint because of him. ok... because he is insanely tall, why would anyone purposefully run into a giant?
For a number 1 pick to turn a bad team into a playoff team, that’s already a huge change, remove Wemby and the Spurs would never look the same again, so we just have to appreciate what he’s doing even if we can’t see it clearly because we’re not really following the Spurs closely. We might all have different ways of seeing this team, but for me I honestly believe this group will eventually become a championship team.

Size is a double edged sword. At 220 cm, the weight just kills your feet and ankles. It’s almost impossible to stay healthy if you're that big. The sweet spot for a hoopster is 205 cm max. After that height becomes a liability. MJ was 198 cm and he's the GOAT for a reason.

What a superb effort by Sengun last night... 33 points and 88% FG. KD also had a great one by the same number of points. Amen Thompson wasn't great with his shooting maybe but supported his teammates nicely with 8 rebounds and 14 assists anyway. ^^ Who doesn't want to see Wemby won the MVP? But I think he still very raw, this is still just his 2nd season, although we have seen improvements already, still he has to make a lot of grounds to be the best player in the NBA today.

Exactly I agree! In the future he is a serious candidate for being the MVP. But for now I don't expect it to happen. Especially while there are players like Jokic, SGA and Doncic who are having amazing performances. Wemby has been selected for All-Star 2x already on the other hand. He must be 4th or 5th now in KIA MVP Ladder too.

Wemby got lots of potential and this early part of his career he's shows promising dominance on NBA. The only concerns now is his durability since Wemby experience lots of injuries recently, so hope this will not create a problem for his career in future since if it happens that he became same like Davis I think his potential will be wasted. Actually Spurs is pushing Wemby to build muscle but in manageable way. This is his past work out routine and seems slowly effective on him https://www.si.com/nba/spurs/onsi/news/spurs-starter-friday-october-11-2024-victor-wembanyama-wild-workout-regimenBuilding muscle and making his lower body more stronger is important since maybe from this he can escape getting lots of injuries in future.

Houston defeated Memphis 108-99 thanks to the effective play of Alperen and Kevin, both scoring 33 points. Alperen surpassed 30 points for the first time in a long time. Houston's real test will be in two days, playing San Antonio at home. I'm curious to see what the result of that game will be. They managed a tough victory against San Antonio six days ago; I don't know if they'll replicate that performance.
San Antonio also lost at home to New Orleans 95-104.
This result surprised me, but I think the Houston game will be a different story.

KD used a key word for Alperen’s game. demoralizing... It’s not just about scoring points. Like Durant said, even if the defense does everything right and rotates perfectly, Alperen still finds a way to put that ball in the hoop. It just breaks the opponent's game plan and their spirit. it’s the kind of playstyle that completely messes with a defender’s head.

That’s how smart he really is, super underrated player. If Durant can actually help this Rockets team take a big step this season, even just a deep playoff run or Finals appearance, that already puts him back in the championship picture, and at the same time it elevates Alperen a lot. He’s starting to show that Jokic-type impact, not flashy and obviously different, but just a smart big man who reads the game well and always looks to make the right pass.

Not really surprising to me since the Spurs have been very inconsistent, it’s hard to tell on any night if they’re going to win or not. What surprised me though was checking the standings and seeing them sitting at 2nd right behind OKC, that’s actually pretty impressive. And OKC being on a two-game losing streak is surprising as well, I think this might be the first time they’ve lost back to back this season.

Yeah right, Alperen showing smart type of game style, same with your observation he's playing like Jokic where he's using his advantages no fancy but all smart game type, if he and KD will continue the type of leadership that affects their teammates there's a big chance that they may achieved better place, still too far and got lots of game to play before the next round, they just need to keep winning to gain good positioning to keep their chance alive to chase for the title.

The Lakers suddenly having some life.
4 wins out of 5 games. All of them Luka Doncic performed on the high level type of a player. Today was 46 points against the Bulls. Rawr! This is why the Lakers management took the risk of trading their players for him. He can definitely take the lead and boosts the confidence of his team. He did that in Mavs and he is now doing it for the Lakers. I am not a Lebron fan but certainly a Doncic fan. I think the Lakers won't have any worries if they will make him the face of their franchise. All they need is to surround him with good roleplayers especially when Lebron passes the torch to him and will retire. Fingers-crossed, no injuries.

Well, yeah. The Lakers are indeed a very weird team this season. They tend to get lost at one point and then come back stronger in the next couple of games. They are also one of the worst 1st - 3rd quarters in net ratings, playing worse defense in these quarters, and then they're best in the 4th quarter in net rating. Looks like they're trying to experiment with how to sustain and hold their opponent at a striking distance in early quarters with their offense, and then decide to go all-out defense on the 4th. It's like, there's no safe lead for them going into the 4th quarter. Anyway, LeBron has already passed the torch to Luka by becoming the 3rd option when Austin was on the floor, and reducing his usage rate. He's been playing off-ball the most in his entire career, while taking over when it needed the most. The internal drama surrounding the Lakers' management today is just an indicator that they're ready to dispose of LeBron to build a young core around Luka and Reaves. I believe, whether or not the Lakers win the championship this year, LeBron will either retire or go back to where he started.

Spurs being the second ranked team, even after Pop left (not really "left" but not the coach anymore) and even when Wemby was missing for a while, and even when Wemby returned but minutes restricted, is something nobody expected. They are playing a team ball just like old days and even though none of these players are great, when they play together very well, you see them putting 5100 on the floor and play very good.
This team has nowhere near the quality to be second place, and the only reason why they are capable of doing something like this is because we are seeing them have a lot better approach to basketball, and talent to be able to do something like this only comes from the staff, they are doing a great job.

Doncic is definitely superb lately! Especially in his last 4-game period. In this one, another great performance by a double-double. 8 3-PT by him also. What can he do more when he plays like this in the end? I believe Lakers will finish regular season in top 6 and won't have to play any extra round before playoffs. But for the championship? I think it's still early to talk about them for that. First they had better bring a solid center to the roster.

I'm not surprised though, if we can see their losses, Luka had a bad night, his shooting percentage is down and it affect the team itself. But if he has a good start like in this gae and shooting above normal, there is a tendency that it will also gravitate to this team, in this case, to Rui Hachimura. Rui did play well here, specially when the Bulls is trying to make a huge comeback. He hit back to back threes, and I thought that he will hit another one in the corner. But it's good that the ball landed on Luka again and score easy. We will see if they can continue their run even if here are noises from behind like the Lebron James-Jeannie Bush drama (or this is just a rumor).

Jaxon Hayes going under the leg on a fast break dunk was pretty crazy. Usually you see guys get benched for doing stuff like that but the Lakers seemed pretty excited about it. Luka also said he was doing that at 13.

Usually coaches don't want to see that flashy between the leg dunks on a real game, but Lakers have two digit lead and there's 3 minutes left on 4th quarter and maybe this is the reason why they let that situation to happen. Crowd got so hype when Hayes made that between the leg dunk coming from fast break. I see this clip of Luka doing between the league dunk https://www.youtube.com/shorts/WIIPs68MHpA but I think he cannot do that in real NBA game.

Looking like the Golden State Warriors and Miami Heat are close to a trade that sends Andrew Wiggins back to Golden State in exchange for Jonathan Kuminga. I think this is a good trade for both parties. Only loser is the Lakers, who really were hoping to dump their underperforming players for Wiggins.
