CP3 + HARDEN + BUTLER? = ROCKETS 30W -52L - First time not to make a Playoffs appearance since 2011-2012 Season.
You gave me a good laugh @harizen. But I agree, adding Butler will be a disaster for Houston. They already had 2 high profile players who had a a lot of drama, so I don't think that Butler will be a fit to them. It could make the team worst, in my opinion and probably not make the play-offs. If only they will play for talents and no personal agenda maybe it can work but adding Butler as we know the attitude it's not going to work, two superstars which having some personal issues right now then adding another player who have the reputation wanting to have a star treated too, that's quite a ramble for this team. You hit it. Butler is the type also who wants to be a star in a team. He just cant do it. I am not a Butler fan. It is like he is lacking something. Maybe some confidence or he is over confident that what he says have never been fruitful. If I am Houston I will go with a better PF. Something like Tobias Harris with a shooting ability and also inside penetration who can also rebound. Problem is Mike D'Antoni wants to much speed in offense. That is his weakness since the Phoenix Suns. (Steve Nash) I would say that he's too overconfident and adding him into the team would just mess up even more.Tobias Harris is a good option. I did actually laugh on what harizen do tell above.

Lakers managed to make enough room for a third max superstar as well. Now, that means they are going to get a superstar for sure or at least aim to get one because if a team wants to buy couple of decent players instead of one superstar they could have made it a little less, like instead of 32 million which is the max contract price they could have been 30 or 29 or whatever but since they did exactly one superstar contract that means they are trying to get someone.
It means its either Kyrie or Kemba if you ask me, Kawhi seems a bit difficult after the championship, if they were eliminated in the playoffs Kawhi could have come but they literally won the ring with raptors so its gonna be challenge to convince him. I just wish they instead got players like Patrick Beverly - Danny green -Seth curry and JJ Reddick because instead of 1 superstar like Kyrie you could get 4 decent players and get your team stronger overall.

They don't need a superstar, what they need is someone that can shoot, JJ Reddick or Beverly will be a good addition or maybe a Kemba, in my opinion. Kyrie? I don't think he will fit, what they have 3 superstars and then an awful bench player? Not gonna work.

What you hope for, let us pray it will come true. Why? 3 superstars will mean nothing anymore to watch NBA. It is absurd. Instead of gaining more viewers they will just lose it. What?!! Only Lakers fans can be happy? Aren't other teams should have them too? Just because Lakers have that large salary cap doesnt mean they should always be the apple of the eye. I still want the balance in NBA. That is also for us gamblers to not easily predict the game and could somehow win even with just normal odds. Last year was good. We didnt even know Brooklyn could go to the playoffs and yet they did. D'Angelo Russell might be their take. If that is so then I am okay with that. But with Kawhi. Urgh. Not fun anymore. Watched ESPN channel on youtube and they are talking about Carmelo Anthony. This could be his time to repair his career. Join Lebron as the leader for the 2nd team and maybe win the championship.

BUTLER will be more valuable in other team but not in Rockets, not with Harden particularly. I would rather see him teaming Lebron James if possible than with Harden honestly, he actually deserve a better team as we know what he can do in big games like in the playoffs, if we followed him in the last playoffs against the Raptors, we saw how valuable he is.
Unfortunately, Butler doesn't want to play with LeBron James. Sort of ego, attitude and pride. Same reason with Kyrie. Teaming him up with LeBron is one of the hot topics in trading rumors last year. And he strongly declined any possible offer to team up with LeBron. One of the reason is, he wants to beat LeBron badly since then. BUT.... after the current year's postseason...the wind changed the direction and he shows interest now teaming up with LeBron. I just don't know how this will end up.

If they get Kawhi the championship is a lock for the Lakers. The superteams never end Lebron is the king of the NBA and it shows in the ratings, NBA wants to do everything they can to make the Lakers and Lebron successful. It is always about the money.

Seems too lit but the possibility is there but theres no need to add up more some superstar.I heavily agree that it would be much better to have 4 good players rather than eyeing or focusing on a main one.Things should really be balanced but well when it comes to business, money do always matter.

I also happen to read a news article about Melo training hard, it might be a prelude for a comeback in basketball and i think Lebron would recruit him since they are good friends. He could be of help as a second stringer for the Lakers if he would be part of the roster.

Even if Raptors eliminated in playoffs, I don't think Kawhi is that type of guy. He is different from other superstar. Anyway, much better if they will go and pursue for Kemba instead of Kyrie plus knowing they had a past a feud. That would be awkward and because of that, it would be hard to make a chemistry. It would be nice to see a new chemistry if they will get Kemba but seems impossible to get since Celtics were the frontrunner and Mavs are in pursue for Kemba.

Lebron is the king and will remain be the king to whatever team he will play, Leonard has crowned as king in the Raptors, no reason for him to leave.

The game has evolved already but he is still in the mentality that iso play will win games at this level of game, it is not. I'm sorry but he will be more of a liability in Lakers uniform.

If they get Kawhi the championship is a lock for the Lakers. The superteams never end Whaaat? so this rumor is becoming of the buzz now. Super team but it doesn't mean that they are too good enough to become the champ for this season. An example is Houston Rockets, they are considered as super team last season. Lebron is the king of the NBA and it shows in the ratings, NBA wants to do everything they can to make the Lakers and Lebron successful. It is always about the money.
Lebron has been titled as the king but it doesn't mean that the NBA itself wants him to become successful. He's already successful after making it at the top and became the champion.

Changes will be seen next season many big names will be jumping to another teams. It will be expected to have another new super lineups.

I think for Kawhi its not about Lebron or AD or even Lakers to be honest with you, it could always be clippers, dude is from Los Angeles himself and he always wanted to play in Los Angeles to be with his family and to be close to his hometown because that is the type of guy he is, he always misses his home.
Now, of course this is basketball and a professional sport so he played in Toronto literally the only team that is not even in the same country as Los Angeles and as far as possible but he managed to keep at it and work hard and even won a championship, so he can totally stay in Toronto and that would make sense. But if he comes to Lakers that wouldn't be because of Lebron or AD or anything else, it would be because Lakers is literally his hometown and all of his family is there, he just wants to go back to his home that's it.

This is the rumor I just read, - https://www.cbssports.com/nba/news/kawhi-leonard-free-agency-all-star-forward-meeting-with-lakers-will-also-meet-clippers-and-raptors-per-reports/... Looks like fans are just pushing it but if things happens, I'm not sure if I will still root with the Lakers. They are great because they have all the stars with Kawhi if possible, but this organization is not fan anymore, what we like to see here is the super team against the super team? Hate to see this but I will not be good for the organization in overall. I hated the Warriors for building a super team, and Lakers is no different if they continue to pursue Leonard, this is so desperate of them.

Actually that is the key because they are going to let him lead the 2nd team. Just to waste some time for Lebron and AD to rest for as much time as possible. The slow play and ISO type guy will be best suited for it. Do you see how GSW is doing it with their 2nd team? They put Livingston or Cook as playmaker. Why? Because it will take long before the play will be fruitful when they are holding the ball. That is what they need for their first 5 to have longer minutes of rest which is also the key to winning the game. This is one of the plays of Phil Jackson. Not forcing Jordan for 48 minutes and just trust the role players.

It also boils down to the coach itself, Mike D'Antoni is know for his offense as well, that's why we could say that defense just take a back sit from Houston's page. And that is why James Harden has been called for years for being a mediocre defense himself because of the system built around Houston.

If they get Kawhi the championship is a lock for the Lakers. The superteams never end 3 superstars with no strong role players or bench? I do not think so. If they land a third superstar, their only option to fill up their roosters will be to get veteran players who are willing to get paid in veteran's minimum. They do not have that much option if this happens. It also boils down to the coach itself, Mike D'Antoni is know for his offense as well, that's why we could say that defense just take a back sit from Houston's page. And that is why James Harden has been called for years for being a mediocre defense himself because of the system built around Houston.
Right, pure offense does not win a championship. That is why Steve Kerr forced KD to learn how to play defense on his first year in GSW.
