There are a lot of marketplaces, but they are just running on a union domain and a offshore server.
Other than that its just a website you can put on it so that's everything.

Bitcoin is many used on dark market place because the government cant see what you bought and that is not so good.
I think criminals use it very much. But also some normal people I think. It will be more popular in the future I think.

I thought the silkroad and silkroad 2 were busted by the US authority. Only legit operation left now. Download tor and take a look around, it's not illegal to look and you will be surprised at what you see. Since the downfall of Silkroad 1 & 2 there has been an explosion in darknet site offering anything a criminal would ever want or need. |

I will admit that I only read the first several replies, so if I am repeating what someone else has said, I apologize. It is simply a script and can be run from a normal web server or with Tor. The website itself is not unique other than the alternate form of payment. It is very similar to a Craigslist Script with a payment and escrow built-in. Dark Websites of any kind are not special, the web server itself is not really special, usually Apache. What you do is install Tor on the server and configure both Tor and your web server to generate the onion URL. Tor, from the browser side can parse the onion page and show the HTML or PHP or whatever is underneath. It is not the site, not the web server software that are special, it is the server combined with Tor that makes it all happen.

There are a lot of dark marketplaces around on the deep web, but this will always be like that its not for nothing its called the dark web, and its also true that they are paying with the bitcoin but there are a lot of currency's that are used for it so.
I think this will never going to be a problem for a the bitcoin and its future.

I mean Tor is not a virus and its really safe to download. If you are intrigued with it you should browse there once, its fun actually  AFAIK bitcoin was still them most used currency there, almost all the marketplaces and services I visited only accepts bitcoin, quite not sure about altcoins |

There are a lot of dark marketplaces but you have the know the dark marketplace is not worth it, there are a lot of scammers around on that and you will lose because of that.
I think you can better make a good website on the web with everything and than sell it, there already are all kinds of that.

I never used bitcoin in any dark place. I think the proportion of people using the dark net are much less now. Many people use it on dark place, because they cant be checked by the government and that is very bad. It must change otherwise Bitcoin will have a bad reputation for people that is new to Bitcoin. |
