1.) Get a healthier addiction. (i.e. sex, working out, reading, mountain biking, chocolate, whatever) 2.) Give control of your finances to better half (if applicable) 3.) Cut DSL cable running into your modem and do not replace. Any of the above should work I'm guessing  |

hi i am getting addicted to gambling.And i am loosing a lot of money.I am loosing what i can't afford to lose.its sad that when you start loosing its just busted me again and again.at last i gamble for fun but now when i am getting addicted i am loosing too much. Any suggestions are welcome Regards Things to occupy your time like a job, girlfriend, pet, sports, or anything else like that will help. There's also hotlines for gambling addicts and yes it is a real condition that most people need real professional help for. So if it's bad then get help sooner than later. |

But really theres actually way on how to avoid gambling like disperse or throw away things that can trigger you to gambling, have a vacation and chill for a short while it can also the best way to stay out with gambling and lastly dont give a blink looking at the gambling site and discipline yourself so you will not get hook again on gambling sites, but its really hard to throw gambling in your mind if you made it a habbit but if theres really a will to stop well it cannot be possible.

More recently I read a book "the power of habit" and that helped overcome my addiction. Today when I want to play, I separate some bitcoins for it. If you lose not continue. I'll do something else. Currently I do Yoga and meditation.
But once you understand your addiction to gambling, you will get easy method to come out of it. Many gamblers never understand about their gambling addiction, that situation is the big dangerous of gambling because they do not aware the reason and necessary to stay away from gambling. |

It is a terrible addiction and many never get over it even though they know all to well they are addicted. To the original poster, I had to deal with a boarder line poker addiction many years ago and another addiction and my way to deal with it was simple things that broke the habbits, walking, eating at set times, reading, working and working out in the gym. Once the habbits have changed the thougt of gambling etc was non existent. In short occupy your mind with structure and doing things different to how they was being done while gambling. |

My advice stay away from gambling is looking for a job from the real world
So do you think that gambler are jobless? If they are jobless so how they have some money to gamble? You are completely wrong if you think like that.. Most gamblers has their own job in real world already except those who are rely only on gambling for their main income. But when you are engaged with your full-time job, then definitely you will not find spare time to play gambling. When you are not regularly into gambling, then more chances for completely forgetting about it. Unless you're addicted to gambling, I believe no one will keep on coming among their hectic schedules. That is the reason many people here suggesting to get engaged with your other activities to stay away from gambling. Because when you are having fruitful activities or earning a comfortable living from your job then definitely you can stay away from gambling easily. |

In the summer is easy actually, you just book a nice vacation if you have a normal salary if you are from USA or EU country and go to some cheap place like Thailand and keep your mind away from gambling. I would give this a try if I am too addicted to gambling, a person should try anything just to get itself off gambling.

Yes and there are also hotlines to talk to previous addicts and people who can get you in the right path to help. It's summer so you can go walk around every time you feel like gambling to keep your mind off of it. Plus that will make you healthier |

When you get addicted to drugs you can bankrupt as well because you will always need to buy it and it is not cheap, and dont forget that you are risking your life because you may die because of drugs.
