i found it when i was reading this thread. people do give advises which i can consider as so much funny but on the other hand we give each others opinion so its up for you now op what to choose from.
so many suggestions, and everyone has a different way. but the most important thing to me is we are able to control yourself, you can slowly move away from gambling. Yes this would always matter on your way of thinking, how would you decide because controlling your self is really that hard when you are in the act of gambling that is why most of us fail to do so. Yes that is really what you must do if you really want to quit gambling. You must able to control yourself because if you are going to control yourself. You are going to know your limitations and it is not that fast to quit in gambling of course you are going to take it lightly. Slowly but surely. It would be easy to say about how to control our seld that is i find it ironic because when we are already in the situation we somehow really be able to control our self. We are being overcome by our greed |

I think your girlfriend could help you prevent gambling if she really care about you, but if not of course she can never help you from gambling. But if she really loves you, she can do everything just to make you quit from gambling.
Just an observation, I noticed that a gambler is always dominant over other members of the family, so I think it is hard for your girlfriend or wife to keep you away from gambling...Showing your affection to those addicts almost has no effect... All you can do is to advise them to stop, and let them realize it, coz if you impose it to them and you keep on insisting that they should stop, it might end up to a fight. It maybe work but honestly its not the same what i do in my wife because she is addicted in gambling.. For me i always advice her but its not working instead I accompanied where she was gambling i saw that she is game in bingo or egames . But honestly our money from i withdraw from a bank is the last money we can not make any other for our child we need money but she think that only gambling can save our lives.. while she was gamble she making a profit.. and i told her that better to withdraw it right now because its enough we can buy anything additional for our needs. But she's not follow what i said instead she gamble again.. i cant prevent her because of addiction but after that all money are lost and we have no money to go home i told her that dont gamble again because you have no good future in gambling but she is angry what i say.. we are fighting in that time because we have no money to go home.. also for milk for our baby.. i repeated it and i explain it well that gambling has no good future if you are addicted .. and its a miracle that until now she not gamble again.. in that time i have bitcoin and emergency i can withdraw bitcoin instantly and use it to go home.. Its a miracle that she understand all what i saw before.. |

That's what I am saying,usually a gambler is more dominant than others, and that's the result, you ended up just joining her, so you really make this words came true " if you cannot beat them, join them "  The thing that happened to you and your wife is not really a miracle, I think it's more of a realization, it is a normal thing between couples, when they know that a thing could affect the relationship or could worsen their life or their family's life, they will sacrifice their urge. It is really hard to advice other people who are not like listening, what you can then is to make them realize the effects and consequences on what they are doing. For me, I will stick to self-control because it is just only on our mindset, we need to change it and think about the good things.

hi mate. to stay away from gambling means being aware that you're into gambling. and you realized that. and it's a good start. just put the realization into action. thus, first one needs to realize what he/she wants... a check for you. then "act" what you realize. lastly, repeat the first step.
Good perspective being aware means you know the limitations but the real problem to this is that most of the gamblers cant control their emotions when they are in the act but when they can still manage to get thru with it then its good but there would always a time that they can't. Yup, that's true, emotions are really one of our best enemy when it comes in gambling, so if you don't know how to control your emotions well you can definitely lose money. But if you know your limitations enough, you can lessen your loses with this. You only use your emotion if you are just playing for fun but if you are seriously playing for money. You do not use your heart because it will only give you a wrong decision, you move and decision should be properly calculated and should always be depend on your game plan. I think your heart is also connected in your brain/mind, because in science all parts of our body is connected, I mean if you want to eat, your heart and mind will tell you to eat so that you will going to eat, right? Just like when you want to gamble, your mind will tell you that you want to gamble and of course you will do it. If you have learned that in science then I guess you can understand what I am talking about. Once you make a decision it is your choice and no one tells you that. So for me, make sure that all what you are doing is balance. |

Well that is true gambling is really deceitful if you are an addicted gambler and you are helping yourself. Your heart is going to beat and something is going to come into your mind that you can't help yourself if you are not going to gamble even for a day. BUt if you are going to fight against it, for sure you are going to stay away from gambling in the end.

You don't even really have some medications in order to stay away from gambling. Gambling's addiction is same as drug where person lost ability of thinking and don't want to accept or understand others point of view.
I have a friend that been gambling for decades already and when he decided to stop last almost 2 years ago, he did without much struggle in his part. Well, he transferred to Asia and happily married with a beautiful Asian now. I guess as long as you have that powerful will to stop you can and also when you have found more precious than gambling in your life then you are renewed |

You can actually stay easily if you do not have money to gamble anymore, the most effective way for me is to gamble all your money and once your bankroll will be busted and you lose a lot of money that would make you realize that gambling is not good for you. |

Discipline is very important if you want to stay away from gambling because without discipline you are going to keep on gambling. If you are going to treat yourself on a very dangerous situation that you are going to get addicted with it and you know what is going to happen if you are not going to stay away from it then worst things are going to happen. THe very important things to stay away from gambling is you must have a strong self discipline and a strong dedication to stay away from gambling since these things would help you and think to another things that would make you busy and forget about gambling. |

for me to stop playing gambling is very difficult. we should really stay away from an intermediary who can connect us to the gambling games. such as internet and computers. when computers and the Internet did not exist then we can stop playing gambling.

Feel good? I don't think so. Gamblers usually are short-tempered. This 48 hours of waiting will just make them upset and so mad that the gambler wouldn't do it again. It might make a gambler get away from gambling for a short while but it will give him a bad experience. Also, a gambler would always find a way to gamble. So even if his money is stuck in Xapo, he can always look for a friend and ask for a loan. He knows he can give it back after 48 hours. |
