I think a long term gambler is a pro gambjer and doesn't play for the addiction anymore. They even don't enjoy the game, unless if they win.

I think its better to go in psychiatrist and maybe they can give the best solution for your proble, and i think they can give a treatment for addiction..

Gambling can be very addicted and this already has been mentioned by all kind of people, its of course true no doubts about that by the way.
I always through it was caused by a combo of two reasons and that is profit and the enjoying factor.

You are right, I also feel the same way.
Many gamblers try too hard to earn money and when they hear about gambling they dream that there is an easy way to earn money just by guessing the results of sports, rolls of dice, etc. But they take more time usually to come out of this dream to realize the real way to earn and why gambling exists.

That's the real reason why gambling is very addicting, is that because the enjoyment and entertainment it can give for the gamblers.
And at the same time while enjoying, they have chance of getting some money but also higher risk of losing their money.

not all gamblers can experience addiction in gambling, because some are trying to ignore it and some control their betting and others were simply taking a look and then realizing how risky it is so they stop playing gambling to try other not risky stuffs.

I have friends who totally not interested in gambling and i have friends who keep going to gamble in real casino once every month. They even have to take a 8hr journey just to reach there and they still do it every month. So it is not a cup of tea for everyone but it is definitely an exciting activities for many people.

I think it is also depend of what they are playing, when you gamble you play a game right? and if the game if exciting, people that want to try their luck will bet to that game specially if the game is very exciting
