I just wanted to say I admire how you handled this whole shutdown. You obviously planned it way in advance and gave everyone more than ample opportunity to get their affairs in order. It must be disappointing for you to have to do this, you had one of the best BTC marketplaces on the webbernets.

No projects at the moment.  Trying to keep up with my day job and maintain focus on getting everyone their coins back for now.

I thought the same thing for a while, but someone made a valid point regarding future value of the dust... It may only be $1 now, but when BTC is at $1500 then it's $6, and so on.

I figure as long as it's fairly easy, we're better off returning everything we can.

The amounts left in the wallets are going to be less than 0.01 BTC. However, let's say for sake of argument it's .01 BTC. If .01 BTC  = $1M then the Winklevii will end up being worth $10 quadrillion with their 100K BTC investment.

Using bitcoins to tip is fine, as long as you are buying more bitcoins than you give away.

Really, if you think that the dust left in the account matters that much, you should be dumping as much money into bitcoin as you can lay your hands on.

And what steps should be taken in such case?

I have a friend who was too busy to keep on track with the whole thing of winding down.
He didn't received dust change as well.

The problem is.. it was sent from noreply email and I cant get in touch with the people behind the site? I appreciate this email I received and that they want to give the balance back, last time i sent to my account 13 BTC if I remeber correctly, so it is quite a lot of money right now.

What am I able to do here?

Sorry about that.  It should have had a reply address of ceo@btct.co.  I have sent out a new notice with subject "BTC-TC Emergency Notification #2 (Updated)" for those that are not aware of the forum threads.

Quick update... everyone with a public BTC address set has been sent their coins.  The script finished over the weekend.  I have not had time to work on getting the api keys sent out.  I need to get as many people's coins returned as I can first... I really don't want to have to resort to using their last used withdrawal address.  

As we move forward I'll be plugging in the public address for everyone that responds to this recent email.  Which means that the asset holder lists will also get updated.  So I will send out an updated CSV lists to issuers after I have completed the process.

Edit/Add; regarding the new (#2) notice my script spaces out the emails quite a bit to improve delivery rates.  It may be a couple of hours before you receive your second copy.

This could be really bad. Some people could have an inputs.io address as their last withdraw address.
