Hello everyone, we have made the draw for the Group Phase of the side competition.
As I explained before, top6 were the top seeds for each group, and then we made 3 pots, Positive ROI%, Negative ROI%, and "Inactive".
Players from all pots were randomly distributed among the groups.

Also please remember, that as usual we are using Entry 1 as default, right now only Mediator and Paidi, asked us to use Entry 2 for side competition

A small note regarding the Side Competition: given the large number of participants, and the size of each group, we've decided to increase the points we will be awarding: participants in each group will now receive 1 to 8 points, instead of the 1 to 6 points we attributed in the previous event.

Damn I'm having such a hard start on this competition this time :/
All my lost parlays were for one selection, and now another big loss because of Portugal. Six goals vs Andorra and 19 corners and now also 6 goals and just 6 corners, and I needed 11 :/

Oh well, waiting for better days.

We decided to keep two normal days since we had a few late registrations, so we will only start using the extra point system on Wednesday.

Since we had no more feedback these are the challenges that can award double points each day after Wednesday.
Remember, users will only be able to double points 3 times. Everyone is participating on the challenges by default, if you don't want to participate in any given day you need to let us know.


Wednesday: Winning bet at the highest odds (minimum odds @1.2)

Thursday: Highest number of wins during the day (minimum odds @1.2)

Friday:  Highest sequence of winning bets during the day (minimum odds @1.2)

Saturday: Parlay won with the highest number of selections (minimum odds @1.8)

Sunday: Highest number of Full time correct score wins (made pre-live)

We had that. We awarded 30mBTC each day to the Daily challenge winners, but then we changed to this format on the Euro 2016
According to the feedback we got, users prefer this format because it was more funny and challenging.

As for prizes, Directbet is actually spending more on prizes with this side competition format than with the previous one.
On last one: 30mBTC for 30 days = 900mBTC
On this one: 30 for 16 (Group phase) + 30 for 8 (1/8 Finals) + 30 for 4 (Quarter Finals) + 30 for 2 (Semi Finals) + 160 (Final) = 1060 mBTC

So like I said it was all a matter of the feedback we got from users.
It's true only a few give feedback, but there is not much we can do about that.

Hello everyone here are the provisional standings after the first day of the side competition.
As you can see group C and D, were a lot more active than Group A and B, and this can be quite unfair for the users in those groups, since they are getting less points than those users that have no competition because of inactivity.

Given this, we will do some changes in the groups, if things stay the same tomorrow, and we will try to re-balance the groups based on activity.

Number of bets is still not updated, but please remember that you must place an average of 3 bets per day to advance to the next phase, if you qualify.

I'm glad changes will be made if the group activity stays the same. I think anyone from Group C or D, would get 8 points if they were on Group A, so yest, it's a big disadvantage for us, if things stay the same.

Because I see some people made bet with less than 1% of starting bankroll. i.e someone bet only 1500 doge (less than 1%). If the minimum is 1% then it should not be counted towards the competition, am I right?. Am I misunderstanding something here?

The 1% minimum bet stake is based on the current bankroll (what participants currently have, as shown under "Available" in the Leaderboard); not the starting bankroll.

Important notes (regarding side competition)
Hello everyone, as usual I have a few notes regarding the side competition, so that things go well.

First: Remember you need to place bets on any given day to qualify for points
Second: Remember you need to place an average of 3 bets per day in order to advance to the next phase if you gather enough points (total of 21 bets)
Third: By default we use Entry 1 for side competition. If you want to use another one you must let us know either by pm or with a post in this thread.

Finally: the new extra point system starts today. As you can see in our main post of this thread regarding the side competition rules
The Challenge for today is "Winning bet at the highest odds (minimum odds @1.2)"

So per group we will see who had the winning bet at highest odds, and we will double his points from the "normal point system" (or award 1 point if he would have 0 points today)

I have one doubt, if we change lets say for Entry 2, but were already using Entry 1 at start, will the bets from both entries count to the minimum bets required? Hope it does because if I make the chance close to the end of the group phase, it would be unfair to be forced to make 21 bets on last days.
