Hello everyone, as usual I would like to announce the official dates for the next X Tipster Championship.

We will open registration on the 17th November at 00h UTC
Competition will go live on the 1st December at 00h UTC

Until we open registration we will be reviewing the last competition and make the necessary adjustments.

One adjustment is already in motion. We will make some changes on the side competition.
As some users pointed out, we had some problems in a few groups with inactive users. We normally try to balance the groups, that's why we only start the side competition 1 week after the main one, so we can have an idea of who is active, but that is not enough. So we have accepted the idea from one of our users.

Side competition adjustment:
- We will create a league instead of 6 groups (so just one big group).
- We will then award points every day as we did in the group phase, but since you are all in the same group, no one will get the advantage of having points just because they are in an inactive group.
- After the first week we will advance the top ranked players to the the knockout phase.

Again we are having one change suggested by one of our users, so take this time to give any suggestions you might have for us to improve the next competition.

In relation to the total prize amount for the Side Competition, it will be closer to 1380 mBTC (500 mBTC for first prize + 300 mBTC for second prize + 100 mBTC for third prize + 30 mBTC * 16 (30 mBTC for everyone reaching the 1/8 Finals)).

I'm happy you passed it to a League format with playoffs, and I really love the prizes changes.

A little bit disagree with this new rules especially about have to wear sig or avatar.
As everyone know , some people joining a sig campaign that required wearing both avatar and signature i guess this rules will prevent a member with that criteria.
How about to change or add it to put directbet tipster championship on personal message ? Overall i agree with the new rules except this one.

I think there will be less pasticipants if it is required to use signature/avatar. I also do not agree with the requirement to actively post bets on main thread because it will lead to spam imho. Not so good to the forum and not good to participants as well because they can be accused as spammer.

Yes if you can't use your signature or avatar, you can alternatively put the following text as your personal message :

This will also qualify you for the Contribution prize.

Just to clarify :

You can participate in the competition without promoting it in your signature or avatar or personal text.

We will award 100 mBTC to those who do it and contribute to the competition as described above, but you don't have to. It's completely optional.

You can still participate in the competition and win all other prizes without doing any of the above.

Sorry If my message wasn't clear. As you can see in DirectBet post, right before this one, the use of sig or avatar is optional and it will only be used for the purpose of this new prize, that will replace the previous participation prize (you will always be allowed to join our competition, even if you don't apply for this new reward).

Even there, as DirectBet just pointed out, if you can't use sig or avatar, you can use your personal message text, as they described
(read the post right above this one)

Now regarding your concern about spam, I don't agree.
I believe it should only be considered spam when you are not in the topic of any given thread.
The purpose of the main thread, is only for users to place their bets on it, for the competition.
It used to actually be a rule, but since some users where having trouble in doing it, and we even have users that are not forum members, we decided to let it pass.

We still believe that posting those bets in the main thread will help the competition for communication and transparency purposes, so we will now reward those that do it. That's why we removed the participation prize, and created this new one.

Also I'm glad we can use the personal message, since I also use both avatar and signature for my campaign.
