Drupal have built-in sqlite supporting,
wordpress have "sqlite-integration" plugin which works very well,

so I would like to use sqlite as db backend in most case.

It will be great if bitshop add supporting for sqlite.

I'd love to use this script! Can I use it already? or do I have to wait till v1.0.0 is released?

Keep up the good work!

You can use it, but it doesn't yet include an automated installation script, meaning you have to set it up manually (there are instructions for how to set it up). It's also missing some other features like multi-language support. But it's entirely usable and many people are using it now, and you can always upgrade to the newer versions of BitShop when they are released. The price will also go up a bit when BitShop reaches v1.0.0.

1. Yes you will have access to updates for as long as your license key is valid.
2. It should take about 10 to 20 minutes to get it fully set up. There is a video tutorial to help you.
3. It will support other coins in the future but it will be quite a while before that happens.

I finally found my product key to download the update v0.9.7...Your update instructions to that don't go back far enough to see how to update from 0.8.4b...yes, I know, quite outdated. I had contacted you with my purchase transaction ID from March 13th, 2013 but you said you were unable to help me without my installation key...well, I found it today, so what do I need to update to the latest..specific steps for that old of a version?

Thanks

The majority of files probably need to be updated. If you haven't made any customizations to the script then just install a fresh version of the script. If you want to keep your current database data then just export the data and then import it into a fresh database (it should work but if you get any errors send me a PM).

What is the specific problem that are you experiencing?

I will try to get a new video made within a few days.

You basically just have to edit a few config files, set up a MySQL database, and create a cron job.
There is a video tutorial available if you want me to PM you the link (although it's a bit outdated now).

No not really. If you want to sell physical items then your best bet is to use one of the common shopping cart software packages and then install a Bitcoin plugin for it.

This is awesome!

How do you verify authenticity of people selling digital goods ?

1. Lots of scammers may try to upload opensource projects and sell
2. People may download something and upload it back again to sell it (by changing names/ minor content) . Maybe do a content diff to verify authenticity

Great start though ! I plan to extensively use this site !

I don't think this is possible, as only you can manage items. Correct me if i'm wrong.

If someone were to download your content and then reupload it, the only thing you can really do is threaten them with legal action and hope that they stop. That's a problem with pretty much any digital item, and there is no easy way around it.

Is it possible to deliver an item without sending an email? For example, by displaying a link or key code directly on the website after payment is received.

Also, how are the BTC payments and addresses handled? Can the script be set up to generate receiving addresses from an Electrum master public key?

The key/link is displayed directly on the website at the end of the transaction. In the case of keys/codes an email is also sent just to be safe.

A new address is generated by for each new transaction. The addresses must be manually imported into your own wallet. This was discussed on the last page.
And no it cannot generate deterministic addresses from any type of seed, it generates a completely random address every time.

Thanks for the reply. I was also wondering what are some good options for web hosting that meet the requirements for BitShop, and what would be involved in switching the BTC price data from Mt. Gox to Bitstamp?

Pretty much any host that supports PHP and MySQL should meet the requirements. But I don't have a list of hosts available. Maybe some users of BitShop could list their web host in this thread.

That can be done with a single change to one of the config files.

Version 0.9.8 of BitShop has been released. Only two more releases until we're at v1.0.0.
