well, the link quoted in my last post above should get you started. software levels are ~beta everywhere, have to get used to it general idea is to use the cmd prompt or a .bat file to start the miner and learn to secure and backup the wallet dive in on testnet, you'll be ready next week when it starts for real not sure what to do for an nvidia card

Everything I have read so far has said an Nvidia optimized miner is not done yet but it will work with cgminer.
I am looking for the best solution for an Nvidia GTX970. I see that ccminer 1.5.78 sp-mod is the best version to take advantage of Maxwell chips in this card. I see that this version supports the algo NEOS blake (256 14-rounds) Is that different than what Decred is using? Thanks
Edit: nevermind, sounds like this is close but not the same thing.

No block chain explorer at launch? jcv says (decred dev)" I don't know when that will actually be public (mostly because I've been more worried about testnet than the explorer) but internally I've been using it for a while." They don't want you to see something?
Hope people are aware they need to "lock up" coins for PoS, and keep them online 24/7. davecgh (decred dev) says "The system has also been designed with stake pooling in mind" So will davecgh help code/set up? "I personally wouldn't be able to contribute code to it for some time"
davecgh and the other decred devs will be raking in nearly all the PoS. They will have majority vote on every block. But they won't help with a pool for others to PoS And wont provide a block explorer to see all decred devs rewards.
Looking like another money spinner for the decred devs. (c0) and anonymous _ingsoc of course. (btw _ingsoc, can beyondtext answer my previous post, I was right wasn't I?)

Can somebody direct me to what I need to get a working wallet up and running on my machine. thanks, Rick There is only a testnet wallet available. You can find download details in this announcement link from this post by _ingso, but he says to run it in a VM. That announcement link leads to a forum post which gives the github download links to the wallet. I can't find any link to it in the OP, but that might be because it's only an early testnet wallet. https://forum.decred.org/threads/public-testnet-binaries-source-code-and-documentation.334/https://github.com/decred/dcrd/releases/tag/v0.0Any ETA for testnet launch and daemon sources? I can't read whole thread, no info on OP.
Testnet is live. You can read the announcement here. OP will be updated now. All testnet releases are in signed binary form right now - so run in a VM for the security conscious. All source code will be made free and open-source close to the launch of mainnet. As stated elsewhere, but repeated here for visibility (things do get buried), mainnet will be launched 1 week from testnet - so on Wednesday, February 3rd, 2016. This of course depends on testnet and if no serious bugs are found, the schedule will stick. More information will be posted as it comes in. I'll make sure to update people on all the platforms.

Testnet does not mess with your airdrop address or seed key. Why not try and figure it out so you can be ready for launch of mainnet. -tb-
