can't remember if this was addressed or not but will a modified version of ccMiner compatible with the 14 round blake256 be available before launch or are all of us Nvidia guys just gonna get hosed?

SP_ ccminer already offer 14 rounds if I'm right Wink
You need to use -a blake since -a blakecoin is 8 rounds

sweet

I believe devs said that it needs to be modified to work with decred as they have a different "block header"?

quick few points that nobodys made...
lets say 4000 people got airdrop...many will dump, kl no probs
but what if 4000 got airdrop and added 1btc each for more decred, suddenly we have 4k btc buy support...
even if they buy 0.1 btc worth, 400btc is way more support on decred than almost every other alt on every exchange...
add some whale walls and traders that missed the airdrop and suddenly things start to look very different.
Decred devs have good rep already and im sure the btcdevs have plenty of long term btc holders that appreciate their work on btc.

That would be epic!

True. Actual miners for 14 round blake algo won't work with decred. They will release a decred miner

Good thing this airdrop isn't comparative to Obama's. Then we'd have mangled bodies, not complainers.

14-round Blake-256. Been stated elsewhere, but the miner is a fork of an older version of cgminer with a rewritten kernel. It has been built for both AMD and NVIDIA cards, but it is likely that an optimized miner for NVIDIA cards will take a little finesse and a fork of ccminer. Miner binaries and specifications are forthcoming with the release of a public testnet in the near future. A final reminder for airdrop participants to confirm the process will go out today - it's the eleventh hour now - and then the project transitions into the next phase, where the focus will be on testnet evaluation, getting miners comfortable, and working on community organisation. Assuming no issues, mainnet launches one week after the release of a public testnet.

Im not selling even if 1 DCR is $40,

DCR can clearly overtake DASH's marketcap with their superior devs.

I respect their decision for testnet mining before mainnet.

It shows their patience and legitimacy.

I won't sell until my portfolio is overweight Decred and I need to restore 1/3 XDC, 1/3 BTC, and 1/3 XMR balance.

My investment thesis:

The market is hungry, no starving, for a legitimate alternative to Dash and the dozens of other scammy Proof-of-Stake coins with shitty, sketchy developers.

Peercoin is cool and Sunny King is awesome, but it's a Gen One crypto.

Decred is positioning itself to become the first legitimate Gen Two PoS coin.

Despite my theoretical (and hand-waving) misgivings about PoS (especially 100% pure PoS), I am not so arrogant as to argue too strenuously with the all-knowing invisible hand that has moved 10s of millions of dollars into PoS coins' market caps.

Being able to directly influence development in proportion to my holdings is great.  Sure, I can propose/fund specific Monero projects but this feels even more elegant.

I look forward to gobbling up all the cheap XDC possible.  Gentlemen, start your dumping!

If by any remote chance you're an honest seller, you'll simply put them up for sale once there's a market on some exchange, and I'll happily take them off you. Trying to sell by transfer of private keys is quite simply an attempt to scam people, as these are then implicitly compromised.
Careful folks.
