Seems that Decred is already generating interest before launch Looks like we are the new system to be adopted different smart contracts, anonymous and the likes. One of the biggest strenght of Decred is the community behind it. Here on BTCT and on decred forum you can see a lot of people getting involved every day. exactly, development in collaboration with community is formula for success. looking forward to days/months to come

Airdrop ended january 18. Today is january 22....no numbers about airdrop partecipants.
Can just assume that since aidrop doesn't closed before end date, means that 5k cap wasn't reached.

The number of airdrop participants isn't that important, because after requesting the airdrop people had to create their address and confirm their request until 25th. I guess, a few claimers will fall out at this phase so, imo on monday, tuesday we'll get the final numbers

That is correct. Time must be made for those that haven't completed the process yet. There are many reasons why some people haven't completed yet, and sadly, some of them won't make it over the line. That is an unfortunate reality - but the best that can be done, in the interest of fairness, is to wait for them so they too have some time to get there. The final date for completion is Monday (01/25/16). Having said that, the numbers are good. That will be released next week for sure. Not so many participants that everyone only gets a little bit, but also not so few participants that everyone gets so much that those who missed out will feel sad about it in the future. It's a great equilibrium, and that will be reflected. Everyone can feel good about working at this and informing others about the project. I am confident that if we keep our focus on inclusivity and being constructive in our interactions with each other, we are at the cusp of beginning something great. The focus from those actively working on it is certainly that.

Immutable transaction hashes ("transaction IDs") by separating transaction signatures from the rest of the transaction data - A permanent fix for transaction hash malleability has been implemented that prevents mutability of the transaction hash by separating it from its input signatures. This allows more efficient SPV validation. Fraud proofs have also been added. Is this similar to segregated witness? Yes, but every transaction has it by default and you do not need to store the witness data outside of the block.

Airdrop Signup is already closed: (...) 01/17/16 06:00 PM CST - Airdrop sign up has closed. A final batch of invitation e-mails will go out tomorrow. (...)
Sorry about that :/ But you'll be able to buy DECRED as soon as it reaches the exchanges: some users may dump their DCR for cheap prices, as it seems. That will be a good opportunity Keep watching.

The coins go to the submitted addresses. That list is made final on Monday and addresses in that list get airdrop.

Are there plans to release the identities of airdrop recipients? So people can see if a significant fraction of the airdrop went to newbie accounts or Twitter handles with a single tweet or friendless Facebookers, etc.

Absolutely not. This will never happen. It would be a complete violation of trust and an invasion of privacy.

Absolutely not. This will never happen. It would be a complete violation of trust and an invasion of privacy. Just curious after seeing this post from someone saying they were able to register (and receive confirmation) in the airdrop process using only an email address (not even a lightly used social media presence): https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1290358.msg13601490#msg13601490Also, afaik there was not any verification that the email address I used to sign up has been checked that it is associated with this btctalk account, implying that you could claim any social media account as your own (that didn't have a public email), and then supply your own unrelated email address(es) to get an undeserved airdrop share. I disagree that it would necessarily be a violation of privacy, since people are nominally registering with public social media accounts. Anyway, I was just asking because I've probably seen at most 500 (and that's probably waaay overestimating) people commenting on this thread, irc, reddit, or twitter, so if it comes out that the number of airdrop participants is in the thousands, either we have to believe that the vast majority of airdrop participants are silent but honest participants, that someone or some people are gaming the system by claiming many more than a single share, or that the developers are inflating the number of users who signed up to keep the extra shares for themselves. The only way I could see that the developers can not just have to say, "trust us", is if the airdrop's social media accounts are publicly released, but apparently that isn't an option...

blah blah blah im lost the airdrop blah blah blah blah i feel envy blah blah blah
the official forum already has more then 1000 members. There is a decred's facebook group with around 350 investors just in my country, most of them participated in airdrop and few are bctalk members or official forum members. No one of us will sell our coins from airdrop. We will buy more
