had it, lost it, got it, read it, been here, been there ive got got loads of addresses, seeds, i have them too (bugger knows how i will ever get to my airdrop) now all gone tits up, ive wasted too much of my precious time,  i give up.

If you're having trouble, don't be disheartened. You will be able to claim your airdrop using the web wallet without hassle. You can rest easy.

@jambo10 I haven't tried yet but I expect to replicate your experience Grin

@_ingsoc I want more than a web wallet,I want to stake
Giving myself a 24 hour break, things have been moving and shaking this week . Grin
i will up date, as i have a rack to do.
A weekend task.

@_insoc
what is that:   23:48:53 2016-01-29 [INF] CHAN: FORK: Block 000000000036afa52d193bfc425ba448b364dc0649e9da956299c4b796c78933 (height 2870) forks the chain at height 2869/block00000000003232b2da7fabda7d64fec497aa67d11fe0e3a3169843b8de045cd1, but does not cause a reorganize

Do notice that it's [INF] and not [ERR] or [WRN]. What it means is that two different miners found a solution that allowed a block at the same height to be found. It's completely normal that it happens sometimes. The next block that is found will either build on one or the other and the fork will be resolved. Remember that all miners are competing to find the block, so sometimes more than one will find a valid block before the others have broadcast the block and/or it has propagated and can be seen. They both submit to the network and both are perfectly valid. However, the one that was seen first is the one that is considered the longest chain - until the next block comes along and resolves it.

Yes, you can mine (PoW) and stake (PoS) at the same time. You can even use your PoW mining rewards to buy PoS tickets.

I don't think so that we need a blockexplorer right now. We are still on testnet. Let's just wait until Feb 3 and then we can sort out things like this

A web-based block explorer is being worked on. There will be a block explorer for both mainnet and testnet. Both of those are important and will be available.

OK thanks anonymous _ingsoc. Available when? At launch? (it's test net now so..?)

Even more important, PoS.
As I highlighted in an earlier post, decred devs are "forecast" to get 450,000 decred PoS yr1 profits on their premine, with no additional work due.
With no pool for us muppets, decred devs now stand to gain thousand? hundreds of thousands? more PoS.
We stand to gain very few.

remember davecgh said (decred dev, decred forum) "the system was designed with stake pooling in mind"
Yet not provided? A pool is essential at launch.

Could you shut up till mainnet launch when they actually start developing ?

No, you miss the point of course.

Our ability to achieve PoS should be READY at launch. .
It is not a development issue, it's a basic fair launch issue.
The decred dev team have sorted out PoS for themselves

You want to walt for davecgh to help develop in 6 months?
(when he has filled his pockets with our 6 month share of PoS, maybe 200,000 decred)

Remember "the [PoS] system was designed with stake pooling in mind"
Yet not provided?

A pool is an essential part of a "fair" launch.

PS.  "Could you shut up till mainnet launch when they actually start developing ?"

Start developing at launch? With what? Shirt buttons?
The decred dev pot is empty at launch. What a joke this coin is.

This isn't a new concern we all know about this.
do you want them to not stake coins ?
is that what you want ?
also does pooled staking make much of a difference ?
you'll just get what you would've anyways only now it'll be in tinnier pieces

Oh, it doesn't look like "we all knew" about this problem.
I think decred devs should account for their 450,000 PoS yr1 in their "$420,000 repayment" Its all free decred for them on top of the premine.
(now they will get most of our PoS too. 200,000 decred?)
But my point here is, at least us muppets should be able to PoS as "implied" (50%) which we wont.

Yes pooled staking will make a big difference, ask anonymous _ingsoc to explain, she wont talk to me.
Remember "the [PoS] system was designed with stake pooling in mind"

Anyway, I thought "we all knew about this"?

So what?  It's all their work that has gotten decred this far, and it's all their work that will continue to develop it further.

You aren't owed any free coins from the airdrop.

You aren't owed the ability to PoS mine more coins.

You aren't owed the ability to GPU mine more coins.

You are owed nothing by the decred developers.

The little guy maybe being at a slight disadvantage until pooled staking is developed does not translate to "PoS won't work!  This coin is a scam!".

I swear to god, the sense of entitlement people around here have is astonishing.

I find clicking Ignore under his username so much better that way I just don't have to see the BS at all. Have to agree though the fud and trolls are essential in a way but there comes a time when some peeps just need to shut the f#@k up.
