It will never happen so no need to worry about it.  It is decentralized and global.

I love Bitcoin

No government can ever ban Bitcoin, it will keep rising, the more you try to ban it the worse it will get for the governments trying to attack it: look at Russia. Rubble volume on BTC is blowing up.
yes, bitcoin will not banned by goverment, they (goverment) dont have any power to control and make bitcoin lost or not use in their country, bitcoin is internet product, and as long internet still alive, bitcoin will stand exist with better strength. and its good news for all people who want life more with bitcoin,

What do you guys think it would happen if all the governments in the world declared bitcoin to be illegal?
How do you think the community would react? What could be the possible solutions?

if it became illegal, bitcoin will still be alive but only in balckmarkets as their main choice of currency. This will be used as a dark currency which will be invisible to normal people. Since bitcoin is decentralized it is hard to determine where the bitcoin is coming, but surely bitcoin production will be lessened and the users will be lessened also which may cause a low price to bitcoin.

Yeah obviously right!  I think the banning of bitcoin would be a nonsense, as they say Laws that cant be enforced shouldnt even be made for decentralized thing.  Any free country should have nothing to fear from there citizenry using bitcoin.

Nothing will happen, most likely the most people will just stay holding the bitcoin and I think people will not even care about it how do they want to find out you are using it right ?

First the price would plummet, since there is legit VC in this now, but eventually, like any highly restricted commodity, it would get really expensive Wink black market magic internet money? Count me in!

That very much possible because government will never want to distribute free money to the society. Instead they want the money and power to be retained by their politicians and government treasury.

But banning a digital currency will not have much effect in people's life because, the way of earning and declaring bitcoin would be changed as per the situation. Government will loose its revenue and nothing else will happen.

For as long as there are people using bitcoin, there's very little chance for it to be banned. It would be quite an injustice to prohibit using it considering the benefits of using it far outweigh the risks it possesses.

people can always use bitcoin and continue having it but banning bitcoin means the government prohibits usage of bitcoin, and that will mostly affect the businesses that want to accept bitcoin as payment because they can't do that anymore.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

Also, I feel the government has sufficient technology to block/jam/ddos the relatively small bitcoin network if it had the motivation to. If they don't want nodes running, then they will not run.

I am banning bitcoin!

By my order you must stop using BTC right now. Destroy your wallets and never mention this bitcoin stuff again! Although I have no way of knowing who has what, I demand it!

did it work? Did you delete your wallet?
That is how I think a ban will go.  Wink

I think it unlikely that it happened, because we know now many countries are already receiving bitcoin but also prohibits bitcoin circulating in their country. and I think this will continue to happen. Thank you

If the Bitcoin is banned, I think people still continue to use it, but discreetly.
But it is based on the measures they will take to ban it.

Then we would have no choice but to leave and stop using Bitcoin because I do not want to get in any kind of trouble.
I would go on with my life but I would try to sell my coins before everything goes down.

Like you said it can't be really banned but only declared it as illegal,if this hapens many people will stop using it at least in the beggining but as soon as they realize that they can't be caught they will return back.Personally i wouldn't stop using it but i would be more careful with my transactions.

Indeed no government can ban it and the fact is also that its just that even if they ban it it will not disappear people will still continue use it without any doubts.

People will use it anyway cause they want to get money, but it must become anonymous and more serius. People will risk a freedom using bitcoin after ban.
