Why won't it? It was rebuilt from a clean state by Hitler and Stalin and can outperform proletarian countries in voting for human rights.
the libertarian view (on in the view i feel is a libertarian view):
Because its undemocratic **Hint: those who are making decisions, are not elected by the people (EU commission) and those, who are elected, don't have any power (EU parliament).
Also its highly centralized and as a consequence Europe got to overheaded, slow, bureaucratic and corrupted.
the economic issue:
Because, unequally strong economies are tight to one currency, weaker countries cannot devalue their currency, to address those differences. They are having no change to recover.
The result is, that one country rules them all, suppresses the sovereignty of other governments, dictates them, to sell all their assets, to privatize all social benefits and imposes strong austerity measures on them.
There is an agreement,. to bind the wages on the export volume, to give weaker European countries a chance to catch up. This policy would work perfect as a workaround for this single-currency issue.
But Germany is ignoring this agreement, to maintain its own export strength and its political "leadership". We are sucking every asset, value and hope from these countries.
What my country (Germany) does, is unjust and is a shame. The awareness of this fact is increasing, and Europe would, if nothing changes, break apart.
