You could try switching the optimizations off -

optimineraes=0 and optimineravx2=0

are you comparing 78h/s x1 on v2 against 60h/s x 4 on the new machine? You might just be seeing better performance taking up more cpu. you could try just running on 1 or 2 processors - genproclimit=1

I was not intending to compare the performance of the i7 vs the AMD processors.  I mentioned the performance of the i7 to try to give some insight into the performance of that machine and yet note the freezing on the i7 regardless of whether mining was enabled or not.  I did actually try using genproclimit=1 on the i7 but again the wallet (and nothing else on the machine) is freezing up regardless of mining on/off.

On the AMD, I was unable to get a hash reading while 3.0 was installed because the wallet crashed every time mining was engaged so thus far I don't have anything to compare to the 78h/s on 2.0 on the AMD.  I suppose the next thing I'll try is genproclimit on that one with another fresh install of 3.0.

In general though, if I have to turn off the optimizations (and perhaps limit the threads) to make it work then there really is no point in solo mining with the 3.0 wallet.  I'll get much better performance simply staying with the Optiminer pool (assuming it stays online after the switch).  I would very much like to be able to solo mine both to support network diversity and to have a backup option when/if a pool goes down.

Speaking of the optiminer pool, I've been able to successfully mine with the pool (which is certainly using the optimizations) with both machines without freezing up the machines.

Am I really the only one seeing issues with the 3.0 wallet?

@WiseBC you might want to take a look at https://github.com/HOdlcoin/HOdlcoin/issues/90 You're not the only one with the issue and work is already in progress to get it sorted out Smiley I would be curious to see what your event viewer is reporting and on my box that's hanging it's an access violation error and it occurs just as the AES data is being created.

So what does this wallet Upgrade do ?

The minimum locking time for mined balances has now changed ?
once the fork block is hit, there will be no auto-locking of newly mined coins from that point on.  You can still choose to lock the up if you want to.
also, your HOdlings window is now sortable.
also, a bug was fixed concerning interest being continuously earned by balances that have matured.  I'll let Freetrade explain that one.

Alrighty, the later I read just before and understand what's happened regarding that.

What the purpose for changing the period of time needed to lock up the coins and how does it benefit anyones needs? No way anyone would ever spend even a fraction of a second of their free time on this. This change is retarded and does nothing but alters consensus value. Leave everything as is and stop teasing herd. Or u can increase the locking time to 4 weeks, that would be my suggestion.

The vote and implementation is over were not looking for any suggestions at this point. you will soon see what this does miners will come back to mine the hell out of this thing like they did before.

So there was a 30,000 HODL bounty for the optimized code - I think it's 90% there - we've still got crashes on some chips using the code but I think most users are seeing much better solo mining results now, so I want to reach closure on it.

Both Optiminer and Fuzz contributed to it, so I propose to split the bounty 50/50. All those in favour say aye.

That is not necessarily true. The interest reward is way lower.

The purpose of changing the mandatory 1 year term deposit for all mined coins is to make it so miners don't have to wait an entire year for their mining rewards to have any sort of liquidity.  This is a good thing and will give incentive for those with mining equipment to further secure the network.  There was a vote for both shorter mandatory term deposit of mined coins and for getting rid of it all together and the latter had more community support.

@DisasterFaster Ty, I'll take a look at that.  I upgraded the wallet on a dual Xeon box today and I'm getting the same hanging app issues without even touching mining.  I swear I wonder if it has anything to do with my wallet file as it certainly seems to be choking on something.  In any case I can't use the wallet like this and I definitely can't solo mine like this.  I'll be happy to contribute whatever info I can about my environments.

fyi, I have an Intel core i7, AMD, and Xeon environments to test with.  All Windows 10 Pro.

Yesterday, it was my stolen HODL ( 110.000 ), the thief was sold on  Yobit.

Therefore, many coins were dropped. It was between sunday 0:00 to 8:30 AM European time.

The wallet at Yobit has not worked in a long long time. so i assume any coins that were sold must have been on the site for awhile.

Without a doubt I am invested in this coin and very interested in its success.  So I mentioned HODL to someone today and they asked me what about it is so special.

There is the interest earned (simple, timelocked, and bonus-for now), and I get that.

There is it being only cpu-mined so accessible to everyone, and I get that.

What else can we say about our beloved HODLcoin that people would be interested in?

What are the future possibilities of the coin?

What roles can HODLcoin take on in the cryptocurrency world?

What is it about HODL that makes it a valuable coin to have or to use?

Do you have a lot of hodlings in your wallet? That table gets updated on every block with new interest information, so if it is very big, it might cause problems consistent with the ones you're seeing. Maybe use a fresh wallet every so often.

Let's say it's the wallet.  Why would the wallet work normally in 2.0 but not 3.0 on all of the mentioned machines?
