just wanted to drop a line. Recent severe storms in the area here have caused structural damage to my home and surrounding area. I will be taking the next few weeks to address repairs which will of course mean that I won’t be making any code changes for HODL anytime soon.
I STRONGLY encourage opening a call for those in the community with coding skills to submit code change pull requests needed for the fork. Our PR testing is automated and quite thorough. I do get notifications on my phone about PRs, and can still do some quick manual reviews when necessary.
Sorry to hear of your troubles Fuzzbawls, I hope you and yours are ok.

Your decision is quite understandable and I guess the community does understand this too. I know your situation good enough, we had already the second big storm in our area in 2017 which caused quite a lot of damage. Most important is that you and your family are fine. Houses can be rebuilt or repaired. I know its kinda frustrating to be in this situation cause you feel sometimes a bit helpless.

Who has already got his hodl, should have received on 23.02.17 -> 49483.48 coins. Still on status immature wallet v2.0.0 Don't go by the maturing date. It's the maturing block that counts. No, the unit of measure to receive interest is the day. A block can not be the unit of measure, because that was never mentioned at first. Maybe Fuzzbawls or Freetrade can confirm this. The block determine the interest and maturing time. The followings are from the op page: 1. The Standard Interest Rate Interest is paid on regular balances (outputs), on every block, for a period of up to 30 days (561x30 blocks). The rate is 0.0000002384185791015625% (1/2^22). It's compounded every block, so the rate is approximately 5% APR. However, remember there is a maximum of 30 days, so to get that APR, you'd need to log in each month and shuffle the HODL to a new address. 2. Bonus Interest Rates To encourage early adoption, astronomical rates of interest are paid in the early months. The max rate is 0.0000152587890625 (1/2^16). Compounded, the rate is 2174%. It's reduced every block by a multiplier - calculated like this =((409530-X)/409530)^4 (X is the block where the balance is recorded as an output). To calculate your bonus rate, you can use this formula. Principal + (Standard Interest + (Bonus Interest * Bonus Multiplier)) 3. Term Deposit Bonus If you lock an amount of HODL as a term deposit, you can also get a bonus on the interest. The longer the deposit, the bigger bonus. The bonus is just a multiplier of the interest, so if you locked up 100 HODL for 1 year, you'd expect a return of 5 HODL. The term deposit bonus for 1 year is about 100% - so at the end of the term you'd have 110 HODL (Capital 100 + Interest 5 + Term Deposit Bonus 5). See the chart for the multipliers, or use this formula - =(1-((409530-X)/409530)^6)*100 (X is the number of blocks to lock for, min 2 days, max 1 year)Thus it's the block that determine the maturing time. It is not the day/date. This is the very reason the maturing date is keep pushing back, currently at about a month.

My prayer goes out to you. The storm did a number on our home too - got to fix all the water damages on the roofs, ceilings, and underlying structures. The main thing is that the family is all right and I'm grateful for that.

Incorrect. the unit of measurement for term deposits and interest in general has always been block height. Date/Time calculations were added as a convenience factor but were always an estimate based on number of blocks generated. When initiating a TD, the wallet will tell you the exact block height the funds will be released at, likewise the TD table will also show the exact block height an existing TD will mature (and also an ESTIMATED date)

You will get them. It has always gone by block. The wallet has always listed the date as "estimated date" so it should not be confusing. Of course it depends on the mining activity as to how quickly the block # increases. Have fun!

well the coin is @ 100 sats and right now on yobit, and all those 1-year deposits from the first hodlings are maturing. The code currently forces any newly mined coins to be deposited for a whole year. There is no marketplace (that I'm aware of) that accepts the coin as currency. I think at this point if you're still mining and/or hodling then you must just be doing it on principle or you're one us few who still has hope in the dev dept for making changes to the wallet and fixing things on a technical level regardless of market activity. so is there really any point in knowing the average interest rate return now?
