Yup  price of Bitcoin won't go beyond $600 to $800 based on halving exclusively, let alone $1k target. There is simply too many coins already in the circulation to push the market arbitrarily low with what we have now. Halving is only about the supply of coins to be mined in future and thus can cause to rise the price a bit, and just a bit, if at all.

It is not possible i agree some people keep thinking that the price is going to have a sudden spike out of nowhere and that the price will be $1000. Staying realistic is the best option in this case because getting your hopes up for nothing is pretty sad.

The value of Bitcoin will be not that high soon and that is because you also can see now that there will be more people that is going to have some Bitcoin.
But it will reach only this year about some $500 and that is all because it takes a longer time to reach higher.

We have to stay realistic and that is not realistic because Bitcoin needs a long time until the value will be higher and that is the bad thing of the currency.

The chance is really low that it can reach that high value and that is because the value is now not even that high so that is bad because it was stable for long time.
But we have now to wait a longer time if you want to sell it on that value and that is after some 3 years I think.

$600 price is very realistic and may be easily reached. we can see that today's prices rise high enough, maybe if it could touch $500, after halving it could possibly be increased more than $600 but it does not happen immediately, it may be nearing the end of the year

$800 is also not possible to reach this year. It's simply too far away. Perhaps that $800 is a good target for late 2017 but definitely not this year.
