1) Now that we are approaching 50 000 people in this Slack chat logs disappear within hours. It is impossible for anyone to collaborate or have serious and productive discussions as a consequence.



2) It is extremely easy for scammers to scam people in Slack after Slack introduced the non-unique identifiers. In Discord it is impossible for anyone to impersonate anyone and thus no more scamming will be possible via social engineering.



3) There are also severe limitations on moderation in Slack, which is much improved in Discord, this makes it easier to clean up the mess and return IOTA's community to the fun and productive community it has been since it's beginnings.



4) We became the largest crypto Slack, which broke their system and introduced numerous bugs, in Discord these will also be automatically resolved



5) Discord has casual voice channels that you can enter/exit just like a regular meeting room, this is a good supplement to make our community even more close knit and serious.



We realize that the shift from Slack to Discord is somewhat of a cultural-UIX "shock", but so far most people seem to prefer Discord, at least after testing it out for a little while. I want to remind everyone that we first started out with Ryver, then migrated to Rocket.Chat, then migrated to Slack, so this is not something insurmountable. All transitions have been due to seeking improvements for our community, this is no different. Slack simply cannot handle a project of the size of IOTA, thus we must move on to Discord.

Hey! Just came back from IOTA Moscow meetup! Some of the news from the talk/presentation of Cfb and Max Minchenkov:
IOTA will move from PoW to Network-bound PoW in the future. It's an unique thing and details are not available.
smart contracts are in development. ETA is this year. It will be done not like eth smart contracts, but done in functional programming paradigm/style.
Max Minchenkov said that IOTA are doing a solution together with CISCO for an undisclosed oil company, where IOTA will provide software and CISCO hardware. No ETAs or any other info.
Ternary hardware is still in development. It will be ternary CPU and Li-Fi. No ETAs or any other info.
Cfb is more on hardware part now, other team members do work on IRI.
I can verify that people do build their own stuff on IOTA, personally saw a few teams today that build something on IOTA. And real word development on IOTA do happens outside of "crypto community". So the fact that it's quite in bitcointalk or even media means nothing. Work do progressing behind the doors.
I talked personally with Cfb. He is a very polite and intellegent person. Was too shy to say hello to Max Minchenkov."

Nicht jammern, kaufen. IOTA war vor dem "Blutbad" günstig und ist es jetzt auch noch. Du wirst nie den Dip genau treffen.
Meiner Auffassung nach sollte man in ein Projekt nur Geld stecken wenn man sich ausführlich informiert hat und über dessen Zukunft überzeugt ist. Dann verkauft man auch nicht bei derartigen Marktkorrekturen, die nur heilsam sind für eine langfristig gute Entwicklung. Alle anderen sollte sich einfach von diesem Markt fernhalten und vielleicht in Tagesgeld oder Rentenpapiere investieren.

Es ist auf gar keinen Fall zu spät zu kaufen. Aktuell hättest du einen wirklich sehr guten Preis für IOTA. Wenn du von dem Projekt überzeugt bist, dann solltest du wissen das noch vieeelll Luft nach oben ist

Was für eine "Height" hast du denn bei den Einstellungen eingestellt? Sollte 14 sein.

jup is 14 ich switche dauerhaft die nodes da mal eins kurzeitig gut geht abe rich glaub das merken alle und switchen dahin dann geht garnix mehr

Ist es auch Selbst wenn es mal flüssig laufen mag, so wirst du bei der derzeitigen Größe des Netzwerks immer wieder Probleme kriegen. Da du mit dem Faucet bzw. mit der HP Geld verdienen willst, lohnt es sich wohl schon für dich, einen eigenen full node aufzusetzen. Mit CARRIota Nelson/Bolero ist das ja mittlerweile recht einfach.

sau nervig -.- die bieten das nur für Firmen oder halt selbständige an  -.-
hatte das fullnode schon auf meinem raspberri bis ich bemerkt hab das ich keine ports forwarden kann -.-
und ein anruf beim provider sagte mit geht nur als firma -.-

zu den public notes bekomme 99 von 100 mla errors beim senden -.-

ne der grund is das ich im ripple kein eigenes node ausetzen muss um flüssig payments zu machn !
im IOTA sind sämtliche public nodes unnutzbar auser man macht nur eine transaktion .....also brauch man am besten ein server der 24/7 an ist und gute Leistung hat .......für mich nicht gerade benutzerfreundlich -.-

kein Gebühren aber hohe serverkosten ? da nehm ich lieber kleine gebühren und man bruach kein IT kenntnisse bei ripple !


wie auch immer ich habe in noch keins von beidem investiert .....holde immenroch meine btc XD

was willst du mir erzählen =?! ich ahb mit dem support geschirben und in meim router gibts die option zum ports freischalten garnicht kann dir auch gern ma n screen von router panel zeigen-.-
