Hi again lisk mates!!

Please read carefully my statement, this is very important for all of you!!  Wink

As far you know, I'm running for being delegate.

A few days have passed, and now I exactly know what I can share with the community if I've finally got one delegate node.

Since I have a main money income source regardless Lisk, I've decided to share with the community ALL the delegate wealth in two different ways:

- Firstly, a direct way, consisting on the dispense of 30% of generated Lisk between the 15 major voters to my node. The distribution will be proportional to the % of vote.

- Secondly, an indirect way, and the most important one: since I'm not a coder (I'm indsutrial design engineer indeed) but I have great ideas and a good contacts, I was speaking to my best friend and two guys more (all of them JS coders, good and energic ones) about Lisk and its future goals. I know we can make something great in the near future, so, I'm going to encourage and reward them with the another 60% lisk delegate funds.

And now, How can this does help the lisk community?? If we be able to develop a great dapp for Lisk, we will atract new users, and new investments will reach us. Our lisk savings will worth more, and of course, you could enjoy the dapp too!  Cheesy

So, this is my point, if you like it, I'll be very thankful with your vote.

Furthemore, I was talking to my friend, and finally, If I have the delegate node, I'll be running it on an high reliable VPN spanish based service with the help of him.

See you around guys!

TRH

Hi, TRH!
I support the way u think about rewards! Please look my topic once u have a time.

Do you have to be a top delegate to forge/mine like the first page implies? In other words, can holders of LISK stake them for rewards and to strengthen the network?
If you have to be a delegate to forge/mine then that means the delegates are sort of marked as far as taking down the network goes.

top 101 delegates are able to forge (Mine)

Wow, that is a bit dangerous and makes for a very insecure network, doesn't it? I mean are there 101 nodes running and staking things and no more?
Thanks for the reply.

Not really.  all delegates are voted on by the people and shady ones will be weeded out.  If a node is doing shady stuff? let the people know to unvote for them.  Keep the good workers who are making lisk better and drop those who are not.

I didn't mean I'm worried about shady delegates, I meant that the network is 101 nodes and the delegates are a sort of known entity (talking regarding governments here).
There must be something more to secure the network that 101 nodes. thx again

I'm getting a little worried by all the brandnew accounts asking to become active delegates.
There seem to be lots and lots of them all Very experienced in crypto for years only now got around to BCT.

I'm not an expert. All I can say is I think you should read how bitshares does it as it is similar.

Appreciated. I found this quite quickly and it is a great great read. Some strong points and weak points regarding dpos.
http://tpbit.blogspot.de/2014/08/thoughts-on-delegated-proof-of-stake.html

Nice excerpt and btw, I am involved in the ICO. I am bringing this up as a concerned stake holder.

Quote
DDOS on delegates

As it was explained during the presentation, DPOS operates by the network electing a pool of delegates to secure the network. For BitShares, that pool is 101 delegates. If a delegate does not perform their duties (mining blocks when it's their turn), they are kicked out of the pool of delegates and a new delegate is chosen to replace them.

This leaves a lot of room for attack on a small number of nodes. Since most delegates probably won't have a state of the art computing centre to protect themselves, they will be vulnerable to DDOS attacks, among other things. If someone was determined to disrupt the confidence in the network, they would only need to go after the delegates once by one and take their machines out of the network. Of course the delegate pool would reshuffle each time with new delegates, but if good agents are taken out on a regular basis and bad agents have a chance to replace them, it would be possible to have a disproportionate amount of bad agents disrupting the network.

Since the delegates are also supposed to be transparent public figures in the space, they would be vulnerable to a lot more attacks like the rubber-hose cryptoanalysis.

Margin delegate coercion

BitShares has a pool of 101 delegates. Delegate number 101 earns 1/101 of all fees from the network. Delegate number 102 earns nothing. Such steep drop off  can be a dangerous thing.

The situation is similar to the problem of match fixing in professional sumo, as described by Steven Levitt in Freakonomics.

Essentially, the issue boils down to this - if you are at a borderline between winning and getting everything, or losing and getting nothing, you are more likely to cut a deal with someone and secure your winnings through generally frowned upon measures, such as match fixing.

Now lets say I owned a few percent of BitShares, say, 5%, and the delegate 101 has 80% approval. I can approach anyone with 75% approval, or in some cases even 70%, and cut them a deal - you pay me 50% of your earnings, and I will give you that mining spot. I remove the votes from delegate 101 and lower, add my votes to my chosen delegates 102 and up, and I control them, at least as much as they are willing to give up for the slice of the mining pie.

I don't even need votes to bring some people down. Spreading rumours is easy on the Internet, and since most people don't fact check and act impulsively, it wouldn't be too hard to remove some marginal delegates from their ranks.

BTC = Black Swan.

There will be more than 101 nodes running.  I'll have my node running as delegate or not.  As long as I support the coin, my node will be on 24/7.

I don't think they will change the logo, they put money making it, they like it, they won't change it because some of you don't like it.
And I don't think the logo will be a problem for lisk in term of growing.

They clearly said they will "rebrand completely" at a later time:

As previously stated, we will likely rebrand completely, but this will come later.

I just think it's wiser to rebrand now, than later before hundreds of exchanges and services start using the current logo.

The current logo makes Lisk seems as a World of Warcraft Gem Store, rather than a Dapp platform.

Yes, the team will likely rebrand the logo to look more professional. The sooner the better.

lol yes, never thought about that, but you're right. This reminds me of the good old days when we had the Magic Internet Money and Magic exchange.

Soon is better for sure but maybe is too late, so many dollars-btc have been invested in ICO and the logo now is connected to them, maybe the same logo but more simple and same color

So here are only some pr guy and some tools guy hoping to collect funds to hire coder to fork Crypti? Roll Eyes
Nice plan! Cheesy

Oh, again the same problem of finding delegates. Roll Eyes
1. We have implemented "forging rewards" in addition to network transaction fees, so there will be a very good incentive for running a delegate.
This tiny "rewards" never work in PoS Cry

btw, Crypty also has some rewards, but still
- I operate  36 / 101 delegates on the network (I have been the most loyal supporter of the network from day one).
Grin

If you didn't see it starik, we already forked Crypti and implemented various features into it. On the frontend and backend! You also shouldn't underestimate our abilities. Time will tell you. Wink

The rewards aren't tiny. The amount is equivalent to the forging of other crypto-currencies. In the first year 15M LISK will be generated by community run delegates, this amount will go down every year. We will issue a blog post with more details about the forging. Also Crypti doesn't have rewards. It only pays the network fees to the users.

Will you vote for me for a LISK delegate?

I participated in the IPO and received the following.

Passphrase:
Address:
Public Key:

Assuming when the Blockchain is deployed this will translate to a Lisk address and I will be able to get my private key somehow?

Thanks in advance!

Pardon me for being stupid, but what is the value (in bitcoin's worth) of the crypti invested in the ICO (at the rate cryptic investors were given)? Trying to work out in my head and coming up with silly numbers.
