I still think Lisk would be better served in the long run by 101 altruistic unpaid volunteers, as I have said here from day one.  There is still the option until launch to run the Lisk Foundation 101 Genesis Block nodes as long as required to find this group of people.  I volunteer to be one of them.

Sorry about that "ass" thing... Wink

I would volunteer an altruistic node too, that leaves 99 to go....

Why does it have to be "black or white", either rewards possibly going into the 100k$ range, or nothing at all? Why don't we fix limit the reward by algo to something like 10000$ a year?

Ill volunteer an altruistic node as well 98 to go Smiley

but I think a bigger problem is that 101 nodes is nowhere near enough maybe 1010 is a better idea.
A fixed fee to cover expenses to run the node sounds good to me and the surplus of generated funds could be distributed to worth while projects by a foundation type of entity.

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. Edmund Burke -- May the forces of evil become confused on the way to your house.George Carlin
We pay for life with death , so everything in between should be free. Bill Hicks -- It is during our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light. Aristotle
Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment. Buddha -- The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing. Socrates

My delegate node is up and running on my local testnet. If anyone wants any help in setting up a node, let me know. Be sure to add me to any voting list!  I am testing on my local network. I will be setting up my main delegate node on a VPS in London and running one on my home PC (Kent, UK) But i am not campaigning for votes for this one. I am only having it to help secure the network.

Visit my facebook page if your haven't, https://www.facebook.com/lisklondon/info/?tab=page_info,  and get in contact with me if your from the UK!! I want to plan some competitions for the start of the first term of the 16/17 year at universities etc. 70% of my node is being locked away into funding DApp development competitions. I have no interest in taking any of it. I have enough LISK from my initial ICO investment and the 30% i am keeping for node maintenance, i am sure in years to come, will be enough.

If LISK does get to silly money, i will lower my stake from 30% -10%. I don't want to be earning money being part of the 101. I want to secure the network and fund development.

Good luck to everybody, remember to give us a shout if you need any help.

Pinkman.

So pinkmann is in the series a heavy druguser and drugdealer And there are people chearing up with druguser and drugdealer with a serious mult-million-company, which is working with fintech technology. Fintech, where seriousity and reliability is the key.

Lisk good luck!

Its a username... I made it in 2014. Sorry that I can't have a bit of fun with it. There seems to be a lot of people interested in campaigning for a node. But i doubt the majority have done as much as me. I have a working node on testnet with 100% uptime (only been 12 hours or so) and have also included some security measures.

Mine also isn't for a quick buck. Its dapp competitions and development.

I'm probably quite a good person to vote for seeing as where I work I can remote into my node, and when I'm not at work I can do the same. So minus sleep I can always maintain its service and uptime.

I'm glad you cleared this up quickly. That would of been a really awful move now that someone owns 80% of crypti. Crypti was a good stepping stone, a large share of the groundwork has been done for LISK, which is why this platform, fingers crossed, will be fully functional and ready at launch.

If I had the coding capabilities to do so, I would. But I'm sure developers will jump on it once they can use the Lisk development to improve Crypti.

Yes

And then to vote for 101 delegates ... if LISK let say will worth 0.02BTC will be 2.02BTC ... why someone will pay this amount?

of course the price should change along the price changing. Or even pay for become a delegate could be expensive

1. All fees will be changed before we launch.
2. All fees can be changed later on.
3. You can vote for 33 delegates in one go. That means voting for 101 delegates takes 4 votes minimum.

As a non-technical LISK ICO holder I am struggling to understand the voting process.  I've read most of these posts and Section B in the handbook and it's not entirely clear.  In this thread I see a lot of confusion and questions.  Part of the confusion is that the term "vote" is overloaded - seems to define both a measure of support and the act of giving support to a max of 33 delegates.  Hence a "vote" can refer to both 0.00000001 Lisk and 1 Lisk.

It would be good if Section B was expanded to further explain
1) the process when a Lisk holder makes a vote (i.e. spends 1 Lisk) and how their holding affects the delegate approvals.
2) when do approvals change and when does the list of active delegates change
3) when and how uptime changes the active delegate rankings

In the meantime could someone kindly answer the following:  There are two LISK holders: HolderA (10 Lisk) and HolderB (200 Lisk) and 200 Delegates: Delegate1 ... Delegate200.
1) Presumably if HolderA votes for only Delegate1 then Delegate1 gets 1,000,000,000 votes, however, if HolderA votes for Delegate1 and Delegate2 then they both only get 500,000,000 votes?
2) Presumably a holder can vote more than once a delegate round including withdrawing votes?
3) Where are the approvals stored? In the blockchain?
4) Presumably the block forger maintains the active delegate list?

As stated before, in the scenario mentioned, Delegates1 and 2 both get 1,000,000,000 votes. Which I don't like, because I think it scales badly. In the scenario, HolderB is in absolute control over who gets elected and who doesn't. If they would have to spread out their votes, HolderA could at least vote for some Delegates…

ok, it's good, but what with the rewards per block for delegate? 5 Lisk is much more... see that
