It is risky but you can certain small amount kept on exchanges.
Why is that good? You can react fast if dump occurs or wait for alts to wake up like Dogecoin recently

Just dont get goxxed. Only keep on the exchange what you would use for trading. If you dont controll the private key, they are not your coins, but a mere promise from someone you probably dont even know.
Yes its is risky but how to trade without exchanges?
All those manipulations can increase your holding at the end.. Why not take advantage of that?

There are wallets as Xapo, that allow you to convert your bitcoins to FIAT rigth away, however the fund will stay on that wallet, if you need to withdrawl it , then you need to convert to BTC again, and send it to some external exchanges .

Offline wallets are the best, they are a safe and can almost not get hacked on a simple way, I really think that its a good option if you are having a large amount of bitcoins.

I store my bitcoins at Coinbase wallet. I think it can be stolen, this is a reason why I don't really trust online wallet,  but I still use it @-@
to me i store my bitcoin in blockchain and yobit to me i think it s one of the most trusted and secure online wallet i do not prefer to any other wallet because i always consider blockcain and yobit the best online wallet.
I think yobit is an exchange dude? many people who recommend not overconfident or save a lot of your bitcoin in exchange site, of course you know what happened in bitfinex and mt GOX right ?

This is true, but not only for exchanges or online wallets but any site where you need to store coins like casinos or marketplaces, it is simply not a good idea to store any significant amount of BTC in a wallet where you don't get sole possession of your private keys.

Of course only store the bitcoin offline in an encrypted drive. Only occasionally sync it and use it. I never trust online wallet, there are too many scams with online wallets, too many got hacked too.

Hello everyone as the title says ^
Do you store your bitcoins online or on a wallet on your computer, perhaps cold storage?

I stored all of my bitcoin in online bitcoin wallet blockchain. Blockchain is my first bitcoin wallet and i don't have any issue so far, that's why i trust blockchain to stored all my bitcoins. Actually i never try a offline wallet in my computer, because it's a bit risky if our computer get a virus or something bad.
I also think it is risky keeping all of your bitcoin in one place.  I keep mine split up between a number of different locations in order to be sure that I am not going to loose them in case there is a hack or something.  I know it is not likely, but it can happen and I rather be safe than sorry.

Offline wallets are not there to be simple and easy to use, they are there for the security of keeping your coin without being effected in the event one of your online wallets gets attacked.  If you loose your online wallet, your coin is gone and there is no one who will do crap to help you, because the company which went under will only care about themselves.  If you have an offline wallet, your coin should be more secure.  this is just my opinion.

I the same with you I prefer like to use online wallet, it is just feels so practicaly. For people who have really big amount of bitcoin, I think hardware bitcoin wallet is so appropriate for them. It is getting popular now. I do not worry about the security of bitcoin because I think it is hard to hack it.
Different people have different choice. It is depend on what is needed.

I don't have much bitcoin right now, that is why I don't mind using an online wallet but as soon I get a significant amount of bitcoin for me then I’m going to switch to a desktop wallet.

I guess keep it in the wallet reliable security system that has 2FA is the best way to save bitcoin. I only keep BTC I have in one wallet available on the internet. blockchain, Coinbase, and much more. The sites provide a service that can save bitcoin we have well. in fact, they have a great security system. I keep bitcoin I get on blockchain, by enabling all system security owned.

Is that an offline wallet? Remember to be careful to where you will those lovely coins. Some online wallet website just come and go. I suggest you look for a better one with a good trust rating. Although they put a great transaction fees, still if they manage to their jobs it will be okay.

he not save his money for now he enjoying earnings it would be easier if you use a simple wallet like exchanger wallet because you're easier to move funds if it wants to invest again

you need an online bitcoin wallet to store your bitcoins. you can store it there and wait for it to increase more its value before you sell it. But I highly suggest that it is much better if you will invest it to some trusted bitcoin related sites.

You don't need an online Bitcoin wallet to store your coins. Why exposing yourself to all kinds of risks that come from the internet? Best is to store your coins in cold storage form (offline) where no entity other than yourself is able to access your coins if you so wish. Better safe than sorry, right?

But I highly suggest that it is much better if you will invest it to some trusted bitcoin related sites.

What do you consider to be "trusted" Bitcoin related sites? Exchanges? Investing in casino bank rolls? Investing in cloud mining? Investing in HYIP's? Be more clear.

On my phone as needed, same as I take bills and coins with me when needed.
On my online computer as my main wallet.
On a dedicated offline computer that is not used for anything else for long term storage, as spillover if my main wallet gets too full for my liking or for high value trades
On my laptop for low to medium trades to ensure mobility if needed while providing a better security than on the phone.

i don't think to store our bitcoin in online bitcoin wallet is a good option because for me, i think i will store it into my computer or in flashdisk and i save it offline. maybe to store our bitcoin with online bitcoin wallet is not for the most of bitcoin that we have but only for half or small amount so if there is bad happen we still have the other half bitcoin in other wallet.
