No. We've heard this thing a lot of times on the news channels but it's not true. It is used for illegal activities just like USD and EUR is being used. It's not such a big difference between the two, except the fact that people would obviously prefer doing these kinds of transactions through anonymous methods than through cash.

Actually bitcoins feature being untracable though is helping 90% of us while at the same time some people are using it as a illegal tool, they rob others and use bitcoins so neither they can be traced nor they can be reversed in any way, since its decentralized so no owner too. The interesting thing here must be, even centralized currencies also being used for same purposes

I don't' think that we should focus on those people who are using it for illegal activities and even fiat is used for the same reason as no one can stop it as everyone is busy in earning their own money.

And it's not a really a questioned if bitcoin is used for illegal activities since bitcoin has worth.

The concern here is how those medias will give some shitty headline about that. That's why I trust people who will not easily believe in those media shits about bitcoin being used in illegal activities.

Every fiat currency or crypto currency was already and are still used to illegal activities, and yes, the media is a joke, they try to said "bitcoin is encouraging people to do ilegal activities" and this kind of media always will give bad reputation to bitcoin.

Good point that fiat or crypto currency both can be used for illegal activity or legal activity and its depend on negative or positive people if someone negative they will use it for illegal activity and if someone positive mind they will be use it for legal activity.

The same as you all who love bitcoin. I hate to admit it but it is true. A lot of organization is making use of it for different kinds of bad things for their own profit. It is sad but we cant do much about it.

But there are some acts which are not illegal but are banned by the country for some reason so if the person is using bitcoin for that then it is not illegal like the transactions to some countries from some countries are banned but the bitcoin users are free to do any transaction to that country without any restriction. We cannot call it as illegal morally.

Yes.  And not only is it used for illegal activities but its pseudo-anonymous nature also encourages certain adopters to entertain a level of immorality which they would not otherwise promote under their real world identities. Those are facts....the question is: are those facts hurtful to the bitcoin economy and do they reflect the attitude of the community as a whole?

Actually the bigger jumps of marketcap from cryptocoins was made because people start to use it in illegal transactions, unfortunately is the simple way to not leave traces... Anonnymous thing... Well, drugwar is a broken cause to support.

Well this characteristics of bitcoin is  being  used  on  negative  ways  which  could people able to do illegal things with it because of this  feature  and we could not  do things about  it  because  its the reality. The overall use of bitcoin for illegal activities has remained steady for years now, the daily sales volume reached by just 6 of the dark markets in 2014 alone was $650000 USD and that is not slowing down, it's actually probably more now.

Many countries are trying to control the bitcoin but it seems that they have very little work. Although if illegal operations will increase, and break the law, it may impose a ban on foreign currency.

We all know that  owning bitcoins is so advantageous.  Unfortunately, these advantages has been fully abused by some.

Since bitcoin is known for its anonymity, people take advantage to it. People tend to use bitcoins for transactions of some illegal activities. For instance, purchasing or acquiring illegal drugs. While it’s true that when you give some level of anonymity to a person, that person will do things that probably he will not do if his identity is known, we are talking about criminal activities here, I really doubt that those that sell illegal stuff are any better in the real world.

Every currency is used for illegal and legal purposes. Its the people who and for what purposes they use it. As BTC is a digital currency and can be transferred anywhere without the knowledge of anyone else, it has much chance to use for illegal activities. Though the one knows it is illegal, he/she still goes beyond to use the btc for illegal. None can stop unless he/she stops himself.
