I don't have a proof that god exists, but I certainly hope He does! I'd prefer to think that theists commit mass murder because their gods tell them to, rather than the alternative.

I don't generally like the idea that I am going to say now, but it is a reasonably logical idea anyway. This idea is that even if I thought in the direction that God and religion were silly, I would do my best to become a Christian, anyway. Why? Because nobody knows that God does NOT exist. And if He does exist after all, I would NOT want to miss out on salvation. Besides, Christians have a great life these days, even if somehow God did not exist, and even if the grave happened to be final. So, why not attempt to turn and believe in God, just to cover your bet, so to speak.

What you're talking about is a well know logical fallacy called the Pascal's bet. It was explained by Blaise Pascal, a French philosopher and scientist.
It is wrong in numerous way. First one is: what if God is not the good one? You talk about Jesus and shit but for Muslims if you follow Christian God you're also going to hell. So which God is the good one?

You are very smart. You have a lot of work to do hedging your bet in all the different ways you can think of. I suppose you might go nuts if you tried to hedge your bet all those ways. Maybe you should simply go out and kill yourself with pleasure... "Eat, drink, and be merry, for tomorrow we die."

If one sits down and thinks logically for a few minutes then he will have no reason to doubt that God does exist. In peace everybody can feel the existence of God for sure. God lives within us.

After all, look around you, that red rose spewing out perfume, isn't it perfect? how crops grow perfectly, when rain falls, the sun shines, rivers flowing endlessly, surely a human can not have created it. Only God can.

For everything that you call perfect, there is an example of something horrible...

Look at all the variety of diseases... HIV, leprosy, Down's syndrome, etc...

What about cancer?  Is that another one of God's lovely gifts to mankind?

For every flower, there is a thorn or poison ivy... for every cute puppy, there is a crocodile... you can't cherry pick your perfect world... it's far from perfect

There was a time that the devil, Satan, was a good angel. In fact, he was one of the best. He walked with God. He was trained in much of the knowledge of God. He was God's friend.

Then Satan corrupted his ways, turned against God, and introduced problems into the world and universe. The problems he introduced should have been enough to destroy the universe. Personally, I think that he was surprised that the universe wasn't destroyed. He had enlisted mankind in this destruction activity, through deception.

Jesus, God's Son, upheld the universe. Jesus gave mankind a second chance. The way Jesus did this was to allow some of Satan's destruction changes to remain. The changes have been converted into good things, that operate well, as bitgolden suggests. But why didn't Jesus completely change things so that there weren't even the least bits of Satan's destruction left?

The reason is that God is creating a New Universe that is far better than this one. This universe will be destroyed - partially a gift to Satan, because this is what Satan wanted in the first place.

The time of life that we have here is a time of salvation for us. It is a time that we have been given to make a choice - will we be on God's side and join Him in the New Universe? or will we go down with Satan at the time of destruction of this universe.

The time of judgement is near. Even if God allows the universe to go on for another 10,000 years, the time of judgement for each of us is near. When is that time of judgement? It is when we die. Why? Because at that time we no longer have any way to change our minds about salvation. We are locked into the things that we believe and understand at the time we die. We are locked into our rejection or acceptance of God, and His method of salvation for us at that time.

Personally, I would rather accept God's salvation for me... salvation into a new universe that is better than this one.

The only way satan could have introduced evil into the world would have been with God allowing it, since God knows everything.
Then, he allowed some of the changes to remain, even though that wasn't necessary. A word from God and everyting would have been good again. But why upset satan?
So God is creating a "new universe"? God is perfect, why would he have made a first one flawed? Is it a test one? A beta universe? 1.0? God knows everything from the begining to the end of time, so why make it imperfect? To teach us, whichwe weren't even created, a lesson?
Satan does so much evil in the first place and God rewards him with a present of a partially destroyed universe - just like satan wanted?

Yes God created bad things and good things. Why? Let's refer to these verses:

Ecclesiastes 3:11 (KJV)
He hath made every thing beautiful in his time: also he hath set the world in their heart, so that no man can find out the work that God maketh from the beginning to the end.

To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the Lord do all these things.

So, every good and bad things that happened to us God let it happen because He has a reason.
If God let bad things happen to us, He wants to teach us something that you are the only one to explain the lesson that you will learn from it.

So no doubt, God created all things and as a human being we cannot reach His thoughts:

For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.

Yes, there are lot of verses regarding that things but you can also refer to my earlier post as I had explain everything has a reason and God let it happen to us.

God let sorrow,terrible diseases,famine,wars,killings, etc. happen so that people will come to Him because He is the only one that can save us.

 (Isaiah 43:10-11 " Ye are my witnesses, saith the Lord, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me. I, even I, am the Lord; and beside me there is no saviour")

God is Jesus Christ,
He revealed it at John 8:24. He said that
"I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins."

In short, if we don't believe that Jesus Christ is God we will die from our sins. That's why terrible things are happening in many people because they don't come to God. And they're hearts where hard as stone to believe that God is real.

John 4:24 "God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth."

Satan is also a spirit that encourage people to be bad, to kill and he is the one that brings sorrow,sadness and all terrible things to us.
