There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

how is that cheating? lol

If i had coin stuck in there...and they offered a way out, and i took it. thats on me.

reverse that... the ppl buying those tokens..are other traders.   so they are willing to wait, to get paid from the exchange.

    are they wrong too?

i didnt buy any, but if i did, would i be wrong, buying up what you dont want at 99 sat, thats worth ...500 right now?

did you sell?  then you have no room to talk. You CHOSE not to wait.

if you are holding. then you are taking the chance that they not pay at all.   I think the will, they paid before when something happened.

What happened at C-Cex? Did they lose coins or get hacked or what's the issue?

No one knows. C-Cex official statement is, that there was a technical glitch. I don't know why this giantkin keeps defending C-Cex, after all the problems with them lately. Like I said XVG is not the only problem, they've had many others as well. If C-Cex wanted to buy our coins for market price, they would do so. Not make this kind of coins. Biggest problem in this, is that C-Cex let's users trade this XVGCT, so no one knows, who are selling and for what price they are sold. If this isn't a scam, what is?

And yes, it's easy for you giantkin to speak for others, since it's not your coins, which were lost. Many who were thinking to sell at the top, lost their opportunity and so on. People have every reason to be furious and outraged, for how they are trying to settle this problem. What kind of hard fork happened at December? You probably have sources for that and other statements you gave? And yes, maybe they are more mad, who have lost their coins. I have no intention of selling mine, until they have found better way, to refund our coins.

A technical glitch? And what kind of consequences did that "technical glitch" actually lead to? Why can't they just let you trade your coins?

If I've read correctly, C-CEX didn't deploy the XVG hard fork correctly and this resulted in loss of coins (That's some pretty terrible sysadmin work if it's true).

Customers of C-CEX got angry about their losses so C-CEX issued a token to replace customer's XVG (presumably it was to be redeemed 1:1 for XVG later).

People started trading the token rapidly. The token quickly dropped to almost no value. If the token is ever redeemed for XVG, somebody will make a lot of money. If the token is not redeemed, there will be some big bagholders.

There should be some downward pressure on price as C-CEX either tries to tank XVG so they can buy back, or they distance themselves from the scandal and XVG loses another exchange platform.

Looks like there's a problem with c-cex and it's very risky, I've never played there before, maybe the volume is so low that people's interest goes to it.

Yes something like that.
Only worse!
Since 19 December, 2017, the wallet was in maintenance and trade, none was available for XVG! Support message was only on 12 February 2018 as auto answer. "we have problems with xvg, waiting for further announcements"
On the 20th of February they announced that they lost xvg! What a crap!
They sold our xvg at 1400 sat on poloniex and bitrex ....

The xvgct things are said to be bought by c-cex at the current market value of xvg and taken out of the market! Well, there is something missing in the equation! First, the total number of tocken and secondly, the garbage is free to play gambling. So that means he will never go near the XVG price!
And before he achieves that, he will be delisted because they will say .... oh, we have all bought xvg back .....
So the only one who wins is c-cex!
From austas h vs genuine XVG C-cex has never said anything (unfortunately)!
So luckily the XVG owners of v-cex get back 15-20% of their deposits. Depending on what price they bought XVG.
So this situation is only good for C-CEX and stinks a lot !!

Super Android Trade App! Very fast transfer! Great support!.. ...https://www.binance.com/?ref=15623877...

It's hard to predict if VergeCurrency would hit its all time high in 2018. It's quite unfortunate that I bought at the peak >1000 sats. Being holding throughout February and it seems hopeless and the price just keeps sinking like a falling knife. I wonder what the team is working on. Whatever it is, It should be epic.

I read some reviews of c-cex and it doesn't look like a good exchange. Sorry to those who lost funds. I suppose this unfortunate news is yet another reminder to never leave funds on exchanges any longer than necessary, and never trust any exchange with a large balance.

On the flip side, XVG dev team is not to blame for this issue. And Verge is still a viable privacy coin. If it hits 400 satoshi I'm all in.

My electrum xvg wallet for windows doesn't connect presently. tried different servers, tried reinstall - no luck...  it's offline. Does anyone else has same problem?

Mine works fine. Check your firewall as it may have been blocked.

wait abit, for me it takes quite some time befor it connects but then it works fine. Certainly when i havent synced for a week or so.

Android wallet is not connecting or synching either!

Seriously guys, if you can't get simple stuff like this right, your project deserves to die!

Don't brag about transaction speed and low cost, when you can't even connect to make a transaction!

WAKE UP DEVELOPER TEAM!

Kinda hoping they just keep working on fixing the wallets first.  if they replace each of them, that would help alot.

(and make them easier to use, so many ppl dont know how to use the electrum wallets)

I use the simple wallet. I have the Android wallet.

IT IS NOT SYNCHING!

Why cry?

Try to understand the importance of this! If the wallet cannot connect to the servers, then it's a pointless token. It is unusable in the real world! No fast connection means no trading, no buying and selling of products using $XVG!

I hope the developer team understands the importance of this, and accepts this criticism because it is very important.

The Verge developer team should be monitoring this particular issue 24/7, ensuring that everything works properly all the time!
