I'm not sure about temp management (I do fan settings via aticonfig and don't worry about 'managing" the temp) but I'm pretty sure there's fallover pool capability. Check the instructions.

IIRC it is failover but only one pool can be used.

I am looking for signature campaign Wink pm me

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

Is your GT 520 a 2GB card?

If so, you're hitting the "DAG file got too big to fit on the card with the other data that also has to be there" issue that is affecting pretty much ALL 2GB cards at this point.

This is a known issue, THERE IS NO LONG-TERM WORKAROUND, there is no way to avoid it, it's inherent to the design of ETH.

 Options are:

 1) Switch to Ethereum CLassic (ETC) or one of the other "ETH clones" that have a smaller DAG file and don't have this issue yet.
 2) Switch to XMR or ZEC or other such coins that don't have this type of issue at all.
 3) Retire the card
 4) Upgrade the card to a card with 3GB or more memory on the card.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

Me too.

Genoil's ethminer is far better, incredibly stable under linux, i restart the miners once a week just because but it is not usually necessary.

But have it failover pool? temperature management etc?

Don't need it, i have that implemented on linux using scripts (a very highly customized lubuntu 14.04 based on the JK_14's kopiemtu 2.0 miner )

my miners never ever hangs, if pool dissapear, a script switches to a backup, also temperature is monitored remotely with auto-shutdown, but it is unnecesary, nvidia at 90W TDP, never ever goes above 60 degrees C, no matter what you do. Grin

it simply takes too much time to build those features into a miner program, but if you have them in the OS, it is not necessary.

of course i will prefer those features inside the miner, like the good old sgminer for amd. but these days coins appear and disappear to fast to give the devs enough time to program all that features in time.

@Genoil, if I understand correctly I can not generate DAG file locally (saved on my drive) with 1.1.x version of ethminer? I noticed that if I use latest 1.0.x windows build, I can only generate DAGs up to block 3840000 (-D,--create-dag <number>) ... if I specify any larger block, ethminer crashes. Is this an issue with Ethereum generally, or an issue with ethminer?

I don't know. I'm not actively developing my ethminer fork any longer.

Recently I updated to the latest AMD driver (16.12.1). I had issues with it like GPUTweak couldn't set the memory clock, and genoil's miner generated the DAG for 2-3 minutes (with previous amd version it took like 2 sec).
Switched back to previous amd driver version, everything runs fine except the ethminer: No GPU device with sufficient memory was found. The card is Asus r9 380x. Has anyone any idea? :S

Try the 15.12 drivers on your R9 380x - though if it's a 2GB card you may be out of luck as the DAG file is hitting the range that "DAG file + misc other needed stuff" won't fit on 2GB cards any more.

Someone suggested pairing 2GB cards up with a 3GB+ card as primary still lets the 2GB cards mine for now.

2GB cards work find for mining ZEC, though the only decent reputable software for ZEC with competitive hashrates is Windows based (Claymore for AMD, NiceHash eqm for NVidia).

My card has 4GB RAM and it works with claymore's miner, but not with genoil's, that's why I don't understand what is happening. :S

Does GPU-Z show the card has having OpenCL enabled?

Might have to do a full uninstall of 16.x.x clean and reinstall 15.12 if it does not.

Yes, everything seems fine, and everything works on 15.12 except this miner. Seems only windows reinstall will help. Thank you for your help!

There's a nerdralph fork which is more or less in equal state as mine.
