People are selfish and greedy, once they get want they want. They will no longer bother to care because they think taking advantage with someone will benefit them without thinking that they hurt others
Not everyone are like that, but yeah. People who won't be same after getting the loan as they were before requesting the loan. Mindset changes quickly after he got what he want and there are only a few people who appreciate the person who helped them in time and will try to return the money quickly. |

Well Yeah thats one of the risk giving loans to people online someother stole the identity so that they can ask loan and didnt compromise their self although other people get the loans and aftee days past struggle to give you back the pay and almost forgot what is obligation to or even worst he wont pay, and also if your a loan requestor is very risky also because your identity is @ stake with that. |

Loans are risky if you don't have something to collateral particular accounts here in forum. Better to avoid loans or if you want to loan. Loan what you can afford to pay.
Yes, I do not like to get loans here unless my loan is equal to what I payback and there is no interest and also loaner is trusted. |

Isn't about selfish or greedy it's all about who is need a loan, you need a money and anyone else help you so they will take a benefit from repayment plus interest. |

Yes, I do not like to get loans here unless my loan is equal to what I payback and there is no interest and also loaner is trusted. Why should the 'loaner' be trusted, unless you place some collateral with him. Even in that case, escrows can be easily found. So you should be comfortable even taking loans from newbies. |

Once you start loaning out big amounts, the risk increases too, I would not do it if I were you, just not worth the risk in my opinion. (unless you do it with collateral)
And doing smaller loans just isn't worth your effort if you really have that many Bitcoins.
Just save them, that's the best option.

I said the same in my previous comment which wasn't quoted here. Lender must always have a collateral and almost all of them getting it. Except one guy I noticed gave out loan to a newbie. |

If you are not able to pay the loan back then you should not take a loan. You should only take a only when you really need it and you are sure that you can pay it back if not then I suggest you do not do it. |

If you are not able to pay the loan back then you should not take a loan. You should only take a only when you really need it and you are sure that you can pay it back if not then I suggest you do not do it. some people who borrow is definitely capable to return the loan. but it depends on the time of return. so we are forced to take out loans. if you are able to refund in a short time, it is better not to borrow, or borrow from your friends. |

I completely agree, although it can be profitable, but it is really risky, because that person can only give false data and bring your money without returning it. remember one bitcoin advantages that can let you down is that the transaction is very difficult to be tracked |

Loans with bitcoin are really very risky, the price is fluctuating and no one knows that when will it come to down and when will it go to higher price, so if somene get some loan and after some period it increased then he will pay more amount of his money than he got. and if the price dropped then the person who have loan will get lesser than what he gave.

I know that people give out loans but what's up with people no returning what they borrowed?? I want to know this because I might give out loans myself and I want to know what to watch out for... I have ~800 BTC at the moment and would it be a bad idea to start loaning? I bought my BTC back in 2010 mid August January(when it was about $0.07 per BTC) and I noticed the price went up a ton! Also what would be some other way to grow my BTC? Any ideas on what I should do? Something I should have added my friend was doing something you guys call "mining" I am very knew to the bitcoin world even though I have had them for a long time. I bought these bitcoin from him because he needed to sell them, my financial advisor has told me that the longer I wait the more return I would get so I told him hold the account for 5 years and ill see where I am... So last July I had gotten my account back, did a bunch of research then found you guys. Loans with bitcoin are good if you have to pay with bitcoin and bitcoin prices decrease a lot  . Otherwise they may be risky. |

there are good ways to lend btc... they all have risks but, poloniex for example, risks are pretty lower... almost zero.
Lower risk, lower profit...
Other good example, btcjam. More risky but more profitable.
it depends on you.

It's not only the collateral that secures loan and makes it less risky. There are borrowers out there who hides behind a newbie account and offers a forum account as collateral. But upon further research or after a few days, someone will claim that the account was somewhat hacked. This happened already in this forum. |

Best rule of thumb will be never lend to someone who doesn't have source of income to pay loan. dont loan if you need it in investment, dont risk the money that you loan in betting sites or gambling .
Yes I agree with this, Both is a No No for lenders, before one will lend ask first what if the investment did not pay well or you did not get a profit. What if you gambled with the borrowed money and lost, how is the lender going to be paid. |

even we can't get loan without collateral. this is the number one rule of the forum "no collateral no loan" if you get a loan, you have to give a valid collateral. and if you can't pay the loan then your collateral will be defaulted by the lender. so always think before getting loan. don't loan money for gambling. |
