Time to learn about distributed ledgers Grin

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Distributed_ledger
A distributed ledger (also called shared ledger) is a consensus of replicated, shared, and synchronized digital data geographically spread across multiple sites, countries, or institutions.[1] There is no central administrator or centralised data storage.[2]

A peer-to-peer network is required as well as consensus algorithms to ensure replication across nodes is undertaken.[2] One distributed ledger design is through implementation of a public or private blockchain system.[3][not in citation given] But all distributed ledgers do not have to necessarily employ a chain of blocks to successfully provide secure and valid achievement of distributed consensus, a Blockchain is only one type of data structure considered to be a distributed ledger.[4]

In 2016, numerous banks trialed distributed ledgers for international payments.[5]

Ripple is a distributed ledger that can bridge the gap between fiat/banks/crypto making all transactions almost instant , then updates the information on other ledgers......
once you get over the pumps n dumps and this sinks into your head....you realize how big this will be (and its effects on the top cryptocurrencies....they will become mainstream currencies, added to the fiat mix)

I thought so much to say it. In my opinion XRP this is not manipulation. This is valuation. Really Ripple seems very strong.

spot on m8, XRP is a highly undervalued asset, this is the begining of a price correction for all the hard work from XRP Ripple.

Can you point me to a solid XRP wallet. I now use Gatehub.net, but not very happy with it. Although my Gatehub account contains my XRP, I cannot do anything with it, it freezes when I try to do something with it. Any suggestions?

the reason i joined this forum, is because everyone here thinks there is no offline wallet. I really did not want to hold too much online, and wanted to safe keep it offline, because same like things with bright future, XRP will be all low one day and one moment i twill shoot sometime in the coming year or so.

So i digged deep, ripple had a brilliant offline wallet, but due to US Government Bit license provision as purely financial service provider, they had to stop this wallet. But they never actually stopped it. instead transferred the code to one of their gateway called rippex ( a Brazilian ripple trusted gateway for XRP )

Over past 12 horus i have extensively tested it between bitstamp.net online account, gatehub.net online account and my desktop rippex offline wallet

The technology is really amazing, btc with high fees takes like 4 days lately, XRP is like blink of an eye, usually 1 second transactions..

anyway the point is i feel safe with this wallet, thought will not be selfish and help the community ...

here : https://rippex.net/carteira-ripple.php

I suggest don't keep too much XRP online, just if you trade keep some smaller trading amount and remaining stash it offline ( especially moving does not take any time, no reason for not being Safe )

In my case out of 1.6 million XRP, i am only doing some trading with 400k , remaining 1.2 mil i dont want to do what i did with ETH. i was so confident that i wont miss the boat and was trading back and forth and the vicious spike came when it went from 4 to 17 and i missed opportunity of a lifetime.

hope this helps somebody be safe and not do the same mistake .

good luck to you all fellow XRP investors

theres this from formdeep, ive not used it yet, i do plan to.
My XRP is on gatehub and spread accross a few exchanges (pro tip..never leave all your coins on one exchange)
also go here for lots of various info, inc techy stuff...https://www.xrpchat.com/
good luck m8

XRP was already to be in the clouds, will only rise when the whales want, are holding the prices to accumulate well before the rise.

Ripple's place is not in the clouds. It's somewhere in the moon. I might try to hold mine until next year depending on improvements and adoptions.

For a cold wallet, i have used rippex for over 2 years now, and can say it performs very well, and stays safe on my personal laptop: https://rippex.net/carteira-ripple.php

and here is a short video on how to use it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Emlhwj2pVg8

the rippex wallet was originally developed by ripple themselves, but bitlicense made it hard for them to legally become a service providers for the XRP asset and hence the brazilian gateway rippex took and now releases/maintains the wallet. Its opensource code and well scrutinized.

hope that helps .

http://www.tearsheet.co/payments/how-ripple-plans-to-disrupt-swift
Tanaya Macheel | APRIL 05, 2017
Ripple is about to take half of Japan's banks, but where are its U.S. bank partners?

Swift’s biggest problem is that of “nostro accounts,” basically correspondent bank accounts – and that’s where Ripple can provide real value to the system, said Tim Coates, managing consultant at Synechron. Swift announced it is running a blockchain proof of concept with Hyperledger technology this January – months and in some cases a year after most of its U.S. members began running their blockchain PoCs. Damien Vanderveken, head of R&D at SWIFTLab, said it’s looking to see if blockchain technology can minimize or eliminate the friction brought by nostro accounts, but did not comment further on the project.
“The nostro problem is a big part of Ripple’s value proposition,” Coates said. “If we can do realtime settlements then we don’t need a whole store of nostro accounts. If not, then we always need a buffer of funds in each account and that buffer is just locked away. We shouldn’t have to put a lot of money away so we can exchange money between banks.”

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wqpOX6vDD3E
Why XRP ( the coin) will be valuable also explains nostro accounts
