If it is beneficial to you then it is not a sickness... if you are in control and having fun while betting then I think it is not a sickness even if you get addicted to it..

I thought it is considered a mental illness officially  Undecided
There is medication available to help people not to gamble so much.
It has to do with dopamine but just am not sure if it releases it or inhibits it  Lips sealed

gambling addiction is a mental sickness not gambling itself otherwise all the casinos would have been closed by now. besides it is an addiction, no medication can cure this kind of addiction, the person would need therapy instead or a support group that does the same thing.

Weak hands have been complaining about missing out ever since bitcoin was $1 and never buy the dip.

Gambling is addicting game but i don't consider it as sickness maybe if the person is addicted i can call it sickness but the gambling is not because gambling is a business and it gives entertaining for most people.. not for living...
So addiction is the sickness not gambling,.

I don't agree. Gambling too much or money that you can't afford to lose is obviously bad, but gambing for some fun or successfully is fine.
It's like people complaining that drinking alcohol is a sickness, whereas lost of people enjoy an occasional drink without any side effects.

i guess if your addicted to gambling and you can't control yourself playing even your losing big money it should be considered as mentally sick. But if you can control it and making a profit out of it, i can't say it's a sickness.

Gambling is risky game of money from which most people lose and just a few wins. Gambling too is addictive and fun especially when you're winning and that's why most people can't get away from gambling once they get in it.
In gambling you only win from the start then you lose whenever you win a certain amount.

I know hey ! I'ts scary ! I need to stop cause i think i have a problem. It's been designed to make you lose everything but not because of the actual gambling but from ourselves, we never happy with what we have and always think "just a bit more and ill stop" and that time is exactly the moment you start losing. Then you stress and your heart races. You don't think and take massive risks because you want to get what you lost back so badly you forget how to think....

You right about that, it's the same with drugs, sports, motor racing, gaming or anything you can imagine. You get a fast car ? You wanna take risks and go for it. So you get killed ? Can't blame the car. Same as gambling, you not forced to play. And gambling is under the spotlight often because it is very attractive and lures us in because of human nature and greed.

People can enjoy casual gambling. I myself enjoy some casual gambling from time to time and Im not sick, I lead a balanced life. The key is self control, and know when you are doing something stupid. Most people always blame gambling, alcohol etc, and not the person. That is a wrong approach.

i think it is already considered as a sickness, others may say it's just a hobby, like sport but it's not, it's more like drugs, you get addicted to it really fast and you lose and lose and lose your money each day, gambling is a huge problem for some of gamblers not all though

Its's bad to do, people are getting easily addicted to it and that is the problem. They must realize that it is all wasted money.

I hope that more people will stop gambling and just play a little sometimes.

Gambling is totally unpredictable and unexpected !

unpredictable
You can predict as you've learned to pattern but still it generate different result !

unexpected
Your luck today and tomorrow are not same. You can win big today but if you keep playing it, you will loss ( especially when you're addicted into gamble )

i don't agree with this.
gambling is not a sickness on its own. there are many things out there that are similar, the way these things are being used in a wrong way doesn't mean those things are bad in nature. you can gamble ocasionaly and still not be addicted.

believe, so that gambling is not a sickness, people may say so maybe its because they cannot control their self. Gambling is just a game of fun this is how I define it.

Me neither. It is the people who make gambling bad, not the game itself.
Some people don't have enough discipline and they easily get addcited. Which is a problem they have, you can't blame that all to gambling right.

The question is that our discipline disappears on the same moment you are in profit, you will imagine i had spent 20 and wont 100 soo if i invest anothers 20 i may reach 200 doo lets try, when you stop gambling your balance is near the 0 already. It shouldnt be consideres as skickness as you like to play and you know the risks the momement you start gambling.

Gambling is a sickness when it turns into a addiction but most things can turn into addiction with enough repetition.
It hardwires the brain making the pathway stronger from usage. The only reason gambling is classified differently than breathing in and out is because currency is involved.

The amount of gambling threads most likely started by 17-25 year olds is actually proof of science. That is the prime age to get some one addicted to gambling for life. The brain is still getting its final tweaks and its a impressionable time.
