I tried both the Github download and the Chrome addon version of the Waves Lite Client wallet for the mainnet.  Both forget all of my prior login info every time, with me having to not just re-enter but re-create anew my login and password starting from the multi-word seed.

Essentially, it ends up back at the "register" phase instead of simply a "login" phase.

Now I will have to waste time doing a small test deposit and withdrawal, to see whether or not the wallet forgets / deletes my prior currency balance as well or not.  (Or maybe I will try creating a Chrome exception for cookies / login data for this particular site, under advanced settings, but it is still a pain in the rear and barrier to newbies).

It is possible that the wallet was developed by people who do not realize how not everyone wants to have browser settings rigged to permanently save cookies or local login data.  One could almost excuse that for the browser addon but not for the version which has subdirectories on my hard drive.

But, until Waves can recognize and fix a glaring issue like this, it won't go anywhere.

You must make multiple backups from your seed + print it out and store it in a secure place. SEED is the most important part of your Waves Wallet besides the Waves+Assets you are holding in it, of course.  Smiley

I saved the seed words.  I can get back to the same address, at least, each time regenerating the wallet.  I am mainly pointing out that other wallets for other coins don't need to be regenerated every time, regardless of browser settings.

EDIT:
I finally got it working better after managing extensions in Chrome and getting the app to create a desktop link.  That and/or adding an exception in Chrome helped.  Now it seems to remember, but it was a nuisance getting to this point.

Don't forget those Waves Community Tokens do not leave those cheap ones for the whales and don't sell them cheap now to buy Waves hoping for a quick buck because rest assured they are only where they are because people can't buy them on Bittrex, yet.
at tidex they are cheap Smiley cheaper then waves Smiley

but the price is mooning on bittrex Smiley

Yeah there's a handful of cheap ones, you can't actually buy any of reasonable volume though nobody wants to sell them, you could put in a buy order but then the bot just starts laying buy orders above you and starts buying and selling to them.

I expected huge WCT dumps yesterday from idiots I wanted more cheap, I was disappointed, it seems the shekel merchants among you are getting wise.

If you take a look at the Waves side on Tidex though, there's a whale who placed orders at 10,000 unit intervals from 1:1 right down to 1:0.5, at 0.5 he has a 100,000WCT order...sneaky sneaky sneaky shekel whale.

I expect this has been explained a number of times lol but can anyone give me a quick run down on the difference between buying Waves and WCT. Which one is best to invest in?

Waves is basically to generate tokens and not much else on the platform WCT doesn't do, WCT has multiple uses and benefits and you can read more about the differences at the link below.

Basically WCT is the DAO for Waves, but the biggest difference is the supply, there are 100,000,000 Waves there will only ever be 10,000,000 Waves Community Tokens at present there are 4,000,000 in circulation, a simple supply and demand equation demonstrates WCT will be more rare and coupled with a huge demand it's a foregone conclusion where things are headed.

After WCT ends its run there will be no more gibs me dats from Waves HQ for Waves token holders, afterward all asset dividends will all be going to WCT.

Waves have system of full nodes, this is what Dash has and it has brought to it immense popularity and great value. Waves are fuel created by the system and any actions that will be performed in it will require a small amount of waves for fee. Waves have a higher cost to mine

You can mine any token on the network and pay your transaction fees in said denominations, it doesn't have to be Waves tokens, a miner running a full node can accept or reject whatever tokens they like to process transactions.

Looks like we finally might be about to see some heavy movement..

Is there any ETA on the next update? Or is it just when it is complete?

Has anyone here setup a node in Windows 10? I'm curious how difficult it is to do so. There is a guide here : https://github.com/wavesplatform/Waves/wiki/How-to-install-Waves-node-on-Windows

Problem is, some parts of that guide don't look the easiest to do, and I'm even an IT guy...   Huh

I wouldn't be running a node using any Windows platform

Why not?

What I think is that windows users tend to have less technical knowledge and thus don't care so much about security.
But properly configured, both systems can be pretty secure.
