Waves team is building first production system on top of Scorex framework where Waves token will be the fuel of whole platform and all transactions happening there, from issuing the assets, through transfer, depositing and withdrawing other supported currencies on the platform. Focus is on custom asset creation, lite client, end-user, no blockchain download, decentralized exchange, asset-asset trading, fiat assets, working with payment providers from the start and being decentralized kickstarter at the same time. Other features and apps/plugins center will be appearing in meantime. Waves will have its own implementation of POS, its own transaction types, its own unique reputation system on the blockchain and many more things. Rewards will be distributed between all network users who have a balance, above full nodes, all lite client end-users will be able to lease their balance to full nodes and receive rewards also. So above Waves token being the fuel of the whole platform there will be also incentives from the network itself. We will develop own crosschain asset protocol for Waves-Ethereum assets and similar blockchains and we will integrate crosschain asset protocol from SuperNET as for Bitcoin blockchains also.

For depositing/withdrawing fiat you will need to do KYC on fiat gateways that will be integrated. While depositing your fiat will be converted to proper fiat token. Next you can trade it for Waves token and other currencies, assets supported on the platform. For trading crypto only and trading fiat tokens only without depositing/withdrawing fiat on the platform no KYC needed. Waves fiat tokens will be also integrated in Mycelium wallet.

Not saying anything about user prettybuds, but I would think that most people might consider selling of a bit to spread the risk or to gain a little profit if the price starts to go up. Solely dumping for the sake of it might not be the best of moves as the platform is brand new. Too early to say what will happen with the value in 6-12-24 months time.

Please correct if I'm wrong: there will be special gateways that are "official" partners and they are expected to be the most trustworthy ones. At the same time anyone can create a gateway since (unlike Ripple) Wave is a fully decentralized blockchain. So it's up to the users to make due diligence in order to avoid scammers. The reputation system will help and I expect to see the emergence of rating services.
